Once Quonx got there and started working on the node, Dakoyo skittered off to try to find another one. This was actually a pretty fun game, and if he concentrated really hard, he could almost feel where Ibra's forces clashed with the science thingies.

Quonx moves to the first one and as she starts to disarm it a cloud is released from right beside the node.

Quonx Fort Save, Suit: 1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 4 = 8

Quonx feels weakened from the exposure to the radiation.

The victim takes a –2 penalty to Fortitude saves, Constitution checks, and Constitution-based DCs. Every time the victim attempts a Fortitude save against the poison—whether he succeeds or fails—he loses Hit Points as per on initial exposure.

Quonx steps up to the third node and readies her tools to disable it. Just as she is about to touch the node Electricity bursts from it.

Electricity: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 6, 3, 4) = 16

Quonx Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Quonx manages to avoid some of the damage. No more electricity comes and Quonx manages to take this node offline also.

Suddenly M2's voice comes through the speakers again. It slows as it speaks, trailing off right at the end.

With M2 deactivated the Clutch can lead the Emerald Empyrean back to the Pact Worlds. In fact, Nakonechkin allows the four of you to pilot the pleasure barge for the time being, admitting tersely that the skittermanders went above and beyond the call of duty—what amounts to effusive praise from the usually laconic vesk. The Emerald Empyrean’s passengers are much more vocal in their appreciation, jubilant that they can once again return to their normal lives. Finally, Trendsetter Excursions pays handsomely to keep the incident out of the public eye to avoid any negative publicity. They assure everyone that they are also scrapping their artificial intelligence program, so the tragedy of the Emerald Empyrean should remain an isolated incident.

After the uproar over their return has died down a bit, Nakonechkin promotes the skittermanders to full partners in his salvage operation, using the payoff from Trendsetter Excursions to buy them their own starship! After all, there’s a whole galaxy out there, full of people who need help!

Dakoyo patched up Quonx as best he could after the michanic had gotten hurt so badly disabling those computer nodes. The trip back to the Pact worlds was an enjoyable time for the priest, as he got to heal his friends, talk with their nufriends, the Emerald Empyrean passengers, and studied Ibra at the side of another priest who was one of the other passengers. And then to be made a full partner in Nanochevkin's operations! What a glorious future lay ahead!
