Hey, no grabbing the one I already have grabbed! Hmm... tug of war? Strang will happily letg Kali have him, but I don't know if I can let go when its not my turn.
I think we need a few people heading to the other room!
Or I could go there, I suppose... but the burrow speed is a bit slow, and not sure how much structural damage that would do to the place... 8P
Oh no, that is going to be messy and gross as they use him as a human shaped wishbone.
I don't think the rest of the party that took off bothered to tell us where they were going or what they were doing. If we even noticed because of stealth/invis.. I'm not sure my characters hear them doing anything in a different part of the building (especially when they are being invisible/stealthy and whispering).
| GM Z..D.. |
Boswick moves up and slashes the grabbed mook across the chest.
LT makes one of the yellow one into a pin cushion, while Kali plays tug of war with the scarlet worm. The red mook eyes become glossy as the volume of blood on the outside is greater than what remains on the inside.

The worm has a very good AC, even flat-footed =)
Its also too big for Kali to use grab on, fyi
Seeing the ineffectiveness of their attacks, Strang decides to put the worm to work instead, and hopefully they can kill it off later. He certainly does not want to abandon it, so it can run rampant again.
The worm suddenly burrows down into the ground, disappearing out of sight.

Hmm... not sure who's up... but the bold tags look to be around everyone (just with the closing tag messed up) so assume its all of us!
GM, am going to assume the tremorsense will let me know where people are.
Strang is well out of his usual element, controlling such a massive beast... but he is afraid to let it roam free again, for fear it will attack his fellow Pathfinders. Still, it would prove useful as a distraction, though he was loathe to burrow up inside the vault, for fear of damaging the important artifacts collected therein. Instead, he decides to surface in the courtyard, and smash through the doors. The creature seemed to have enough bulk to manage that.
The crimson worm surfaces again, in the courtyard, just outside the western doors.
Am assuming they're closed, so:
Its entire massive bulk slams into the double doors there, as it tries to smash them open through pure size and strength!
Strength check to burst door: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Dunno if that will open them... will if they're poor/medium/strong doors... but might be other stuff going on
Anyway, single move to get up to the surface, standard to smash on the door.

The large worm resurfaces in the rear courtyard and knocks the doors off of the hinges...so much for preserving property
Dr Strang notices a new hole in the northern wall. Through the hole you see a hedge maze and a red figure, covered in gold dust, slip into the maze.
Theodric dances through the room and slices the elven caster in half. Yeah, he is good and con dead.
Lavode, save your spell. Calling it now
Discuss among yourselves how you handle the remaining mooks and the two gnomes. They all surrender once Cale is incapacitated. And do what you will with the scarlet worm.
Before the PC's can even think about heading into the Maze, Eliza and Osprey rush to the armory.
“The attackers fled into no ordinary hedge maze,” Eliza says. “The Lodge’s books call it the Maze of the Open Road, and my own investigations reveal that it contains portals that connect to sites all over Golarion. It’s been here for centuries, and it’s extremely dangerous. I’ve been spending most of my time worrying about the rare curious citizen who sneaks onto the grounds and wanders in, but I wonder if I shouldn’t have been more concerned with what might come out.
“Before you follow the Red Raven into the Maze of the Open Road, we should investigate the scene of the crime and see what can be learned. There’s no telling where the Raven wandered off to inside the Maze. If you’re to follow him, you’d best do so with as much information as possible.”
Now time for a pseudo investigation. Eliza has granted you pretty much free reign of the lodge. You also have 6 prisoners to tortureinterrogate to get answers.
Dr. Strang
|
Hey breaking open a door seems a minor inconvenience =)
Once the others surrender, the huge scarlet worm falls to the ground, and just sort of lay there, expectantly... apparently with no fight left in it.
Hmm... can't go prone, as I have no legs, and flat footed really doesn't change my AC at all. Have fun hacking. =)
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine

First we need to revive and stabilize any that can be saved. Then we can begin the interrogations. Not only the prisoners, but we will need to question everyone here including the staff. That was too well timed to not have been planned with inside information!
Perfectly willing to use charges off my CLW wand to make sure everyone is stable and conscious.
Detect Magic on all the bodies and prisoners.
Then question each person individually.
When we start questioning people, I have a high perception. Anyone else have a high sense motive or zone of truth? I think some of the celestials I can summon have the capability, but I don't remember off the top of my head for sure. Will look it up tonight.
I suppose I could summon a fiend to terrify someone if necessary, but I don't really like doing that.
Any other ideas or things I am forgetting?

Sorry traveling the next few days, feel free to bot me if needed.

Boswick initially moves around the lodge using lay on hands to heal the injured and will stabilize anyone still breathing, but out. When the time comes he’ll cast Zone of Truth.
My PFS Lavode De'Morcaine
|
Ok GM, not sure how much you want to hand wave or type it all out. But I will set forth a basic plan. Everyone else chime in if you don't like or if I miss anything.
Question each individually.
We will do a 'good cop bad cop'
I think I have the highest diplomacy so I will be 'good cop'
Whoever has the highest intimidate will be 'bad cop'
Voros and Bos can watch to see anyone being shifty or evasive.
Those will get a second round of questioning under Bos' zone of truth.
After we learn all we can from the people, then have maybe Voros and Dr Strange take the lead on some quick research into the maze.

Dr. Strang
|
Theodric is the one most likely to know.... see the post where it happened ... Strang said something to Theo before he did it.
Assuming Theodric makes the connection I suppose... otherwise I'd assume folks should be wondering why Strang just keeled over dead at the start of the fight!
And the reason I can't say, is literal, not figurative. Purple Worms (even crimson ones) can't really talk =)
Theodric de LaMontagne
|
"Strang took over that worm's body earlier- any of you magic users knows how to return him to his body?"

Voros failed his spellcraft check when Strang cast the spell but I don't know if he's allowed another one with this information.

I started to attempt to kill the worm, but it ran off again underground.
After a couple of rounds of strapping dead bodies to Kali that have all of the fluids still on the inside (i.e. heads attached), I wander around the grounds until I find the worm. We then proceed to attack the worm until it is dead, thus freeing Dr. Strang.
While our Intimidate and Diplomacy scores are way to low to help, I will happily park Kali next to whomever is playing the bad cop. Kali snacking on a dead conspirator in front of the interrogation subject might just help influence anyone to starting talking (maybe getting a +2 to aid).
| GM Z..D.. |
I will wave the attack rolls and killing of the worm to save us some time
If one of you all want to give and diplomacy, should not be too hard for this group. Or intimidate, either way. I will go ahead and say that Bos will cast zone of truth to negate the need for sense motive checks to lie. Bos what is the DC for the spell?

As the last scarlet worm is finally dispatched, Dr. Strang comes to laying face down on the carpet.
He lay there for a moment, pondering his recent out of body experience, then slowly pushes himself to his feet.
The others of course, are all off interrogating the attackers, but there are other pressing matters. He leaves them to it, and instead makes his way through the manor, seeing to any injured servants.
He conscripts a couple of those still hale, and has them carefully take the injured to a central location, for proper treatment. The dead, he leaves where they are, saying a quick prayer to Anubis to guide their way.
Eventually, he comes to Adril, and frowns... certainly not the most auspicious end to the evening. He takes special care to examine the venture-captain.
+26 on heal checks to stabilize anyone he comes across, and trying to get them in the same area to do more if needed.
| GM Z..D.. |
Dr Strang moves throughout the building making sure to stabilize and bandage most of the servants.
The others start the interrogation process and are able to work out some information and motives of the attack.
You find out that the scallywags, the humans, were asked to pose as servants and have been doing so for the past two weeks. They just received word that the strike was for tonight.
The target was Adril Hestram, obviously, as revenge for killing Teppin Montrose. Which The Red Raven was able to confirm by speaking to the spirit of Montrose after his death. The Raven then tracked Hestram through the Maze of the Open Road.
Any more direct questioning, I just gave you the basics if the who and why

forgot to mention, from what you all gather, they do not seem to be lying about any of this.

Eventually the doctor wanders back to the others, and listens to what they have learned.
He frowns slightly. "Death for death... seems a common theme everywhere."
"Perhaps there is more information in Adril's suite?" He adds, pointing back to towards the rooms on the other side of the manor.
