Day job:
survival (hunting lodge), take 10: 10 + 15 = 25
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
9th level Oradin interested...
Ahn is not familiar with the prior events of this party, having just come off a tough time with Salvation of the Sages (has not played the prior two), but he's sitting at the lodge, ready and looking for some action to take his mind off recent events.
Zeno Loxley |
Craft (Cartography), Faction Pin: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (1) + 26 = 27
folio reroll: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (19) + 26 = 45
Oh, by the way: You are now, at long last, looking at a fully-fletched Arcane Archer!
Kelumur |
I'm back! Will give you guys an update of how the trip went if y'all are interested! It was a good trip!
No day job here. I should be able to continue comfortably right now, most my other games are winding down so I'm in a good spot right now!
Quiella |
profession, farmer: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Hmm. I don't think I'm outright opposed to having an additional Oradin in the party, but it would be nice to have a full caster.
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
"Yes, you'd do well to have a dedicated caster with you. I'm willing to help if required, but no skin off my back if not."
Zeno Loxley |
While I echo Quiella's sentiment for someone of a more different class than is already among us, I will observe that, for being yet another Gnome "Oradin", you are pretty different, and I've never gotten to see a Warrior of the Holy Light in play before! That was one archetype I considered seriously for a bit when making my Paladin (ultimately, I opted for something that gave MORE magic rather than take it away).
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
The entire point of Ahn was to get to Ultimate Mercy as fast as possible (while maintaining some interesting aspects, like his Produce Flame is fun). Not great in combat, though when he's smiting he holds his own. 14 LOH at 5d6 (with greater) +10 (on self), and if he's got 10 LOH available, can raise dead... which is handy even if only used at the end of the scenario.)
The Nimbus of Light is a handy little boost.
He's often wishing for more magic... which he'll pick up a little as he starts taking Oracle levels...
Absolutely no problems if you continue recruiting others! Boards are pretty quiet, so hopped on the first I saw, and the citadels are interesting!
DM Elan Morin |
As a DM I have no preference here, we can wait a week, we can start sooner with Ahnastasios or we can go on with 5 people, let me know what you prefer.
On a different note: Quiella, Kiboko and Zeno rolled their Day Jobs, Kelumur has none, that only leaves Takahiro to roll his day job I guess.
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
And again, if you go with 5, that's fine! Base the decision on what you all would prefer.
Kiboko |
Hi Ahn - GM supervillan here :)
I finished up Ahnastasios' Salvation of the Sages run. He's certainly different than Quiella, and held his own in the final fight.
This is a party that has a fair amount of healing already with Quiella and Takahiro - but personally I am not averse to another. Ahn's Salvation of the Sages party probably succeeded in large part due to having a lot of in-combat healing ability.
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
Hey Supervillian!
Salvation was one that Ahn just jumped in at the end of an Arc...
Kiboko |
Yup. I'm fine with it.
btw my GM XP for Salvation of the Sages has gone on Kiboko - mainly to complete a Liberty's Edge faction card. I'll update my sheet with the boons.
DM Elan Morin |
Welcome on board Ahnastasios and thanks for joining us!
@Shifty: thanks I've got it.
@ evryone else: part 3 is on. As for the CS, do you want me to redo them or would you just add the amount of money you earned by yourselves? I trust you!
DM Elan Morin |
yesterday I sent a PM to Ahnastasios but he has not answered yet. We can start part 3 whenever you are ready. The first post is in gameplay.
Quiella |
Not sure what you mean about redoing the Chronicles. Did you post them and I missed it? For my part I prefer to have the day job on the chronicle; my memory is not good enough to remember why it's not there when I self-audit.

Yes I did them a week ago, you can find them on discussion page 2. As for redoing the CS I'm ok with that but it will take me some time.
Quiella |
I'm not in a hurry. The day job won't impact my purchase, which is a holy enchantment for Quiella's greatsword. 16k gold
Quiella |
Ahnastasios, Quiella has been doing life link on
Kiboko
Takahiro
Sèriè
Kelumur
If you want to get Zeno that would probably be best. You could do Shield Other on Quiella. Or anyone, really.
Mvumbu |
Mvumbu gets into melee and would appreciate life link if available :)
Quiella |
Solo parenting for the next few days and dealing with a lot of anxiety-inducing stuff at work. Sorry for not posting this notice sooner. I do plan to return but it may be a week or two before I can post regularly again. I will let you know when I am over the hump but meanwhile I will post if and when I can. Bot me otherwise.
DM Elan Morin |
@Quiella: No worries! RL always takes precedence so do whatever it takes to get over this rough spot!
Kiboko |
That is one bad-ass orc champion - and my dice suck! Hope I've done enough :o
Kelumur |
Apologies for my unannounced absence these past few days! I've been unable to post due to a poorly planned work trip bundled with lack of internet connection. I have internet connection now and am attempting to catch up on all my games. Hopefully by tonight. With that said, I'm still on the work trip till Sunday so I might still have some unexpected loss of connectivity until I'm back home.
Quiella |
So, my work stress anxiety situation resolved itself... Now I'm just with uncertainty about what's next for me where I work. The next few months are more or less known but after that is less so. In the meantime I'm dealing with discouragement, disappointment, disengagement, etc. I'm honestly not sure what all this means for my ability to keep playing but I'm going to hope that I'll be able to resume as I was before.
So my battle plan is to A) get caught up on all my games, slowly (I am behind by as many as 60 posts in some games!) and then B) stay caught up as much as I can.
I have a lot of family coming to visit this week and a lot of prep to do, but I did take the week off. Expect to hear from me in gameplay soon!
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
Sorry for the RL stress! Welcome back to the fantasy world though!
DM Elan Morin |
@Quiella: Take your time and know you'll always be welcome here!
@Shifty: duly noted, thanks. I'm struggling with my job(s) myself

I feel for you, I'm not in as bad a situation as you, but I recently moved to the US for work, it's been a struggle to balance personal (my wife is back in Malaysia) and work altogether and it has been causing a lot of downs and outs... i have to really reconsider my gaming schedule next year. Appreciate everyone's patience.

You picked a heck of a time to come to America; what did they promise you - a van full of candy???

I don't know. Your situation sounds way worse than mine. My wife and kids are still right here with me, which is pretty huge for me personally.

Are we waiting on Kelumur, or on the GM to make perception rolls?
We seem to have stalled badly but we can't be too far from the end of this epic trilogy.
May I suggest that we follow the SOP with the GM making the necessary rolls?

Hey all!
As you may know, a large chunk of Australia is burning.
I have been called back from my break to redeploy to assist firefighting efforts. I will be having periods of 24 hours or more with no communications, and this may worsen if the local telecommunications infrastructure in the more remote areas continues to burn.
So just warning now in case I go silent.
I am aiming to monitor my games daily.
Kiboko |
Looks bloody awful Shifty.
Best of luck to you.
Ahnastasios Silvertongue |
Good luck... hellish conditions over there.

Still with us Batpony / Kelumur? We need your Disable Device skill ;)
Kiboko |
Folks, it looks like Batpony/Kelumur is awol. He hasn't posted on the boards for over a month, and his last posts did say he was struggling with work commitments.
I think we need a botting decision, GM. If you're happy to bot Kelumur we can have him make disable device checks (bonus = +20); if not we'll have to find other solutions to traps.
Shifty |
Just checking in.
The initial fire response is transitioning into disaster recovery, which is great. I am getting a break 28 Jan - 06 Feb, and jumping on a cruise ship for some R&R before going back to the Operation and into the cleanup piece. Fires are still burning, but mostly away from settled areas.
As you'll notice, I have managed to keep in comms every day, so things are progressing pretty well.
What we're doing - and where the damage is - pretty much 195 miles of wrecked coastal towns. Some are just fire-affected, some are just gone.

GM still with us? Do we need a roll-call?
