When the dragon falls unconscious... Doubtful scowls, looking up at the others.
"Aren't the metal ones supposed to be friendlier?" He says, poking the dragon a couple times with his boot, to make sure it really is unconscious.
He goes over to the edge of the ravine, and looks down with an irritated scowl. They had not been in the pit when he looked before, so clearly something more nefarious was going on! He tries to figure out where they might have come from.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21 (+2 with Stonecunning)
shrug... seems a bit of a mystery! Perhaps a second way out?
I think it was Tomb of Horrors, that had the secret door forward in the bottom of a pit, and the sphere of annihilation in the more obvious way out
And what sort of dragon doesn't have a hoard to nap on?
If that all proves fruitless:
Doubtful clearly isn't buying that these are the real Masters either.
Admittedly they are more chatty than the last batch, but that just means a better illusion!
Sense motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Before leaving the previous chamber. Doubtful figures out that the "floor" 30 feet below the edge of the pit is an illusion and that the dragons' lair is below that. However their is not much of their horde right now.
Doubtful does not sense any duplicity in with the deans.
Kreighton asks. "Did you see the Wraithsoul Stone"

Kreighton, obviously exasperated, as if this always happens, quitely gets up and heads to the red rood and throws it open. Outside you see the isle of Kotos and the city of Absalom itself though the foot hills.
See that does not convince you he head to the green door, and the large chamber there is as you left it.
He then heads back to his seat. Still glaring at Marcos. Sorrina just shakes her head.

Thanks says Blend with a grin as he lowers his bow. Is this Wraithstone a big hunk of eil looking rock? If so Numaire there has it. Is this "test" done with then?

Sorrina nods. "That it is. Did you find out anything of use about it? This was the Paracountess suggestion to put it in here, near that chamber. So see what could be gleemed"

Blend shrugs, I just find this stuff, working out what it does is for the boffins.

At this point we are done. Thank you all, and I hope you enjoyed it
Taking the orbs the Deans award each of you a platinum pin to commemorate your completion of the Gauntlet. The Orb is transported back to the Grand Lodge for the Dark Archives to investigate further.

Woohoo!
I am quite impressed that we managed to finish up before either of the regular tables.

Doubtful frowns, taking the pin carefully between two fingers, as if he expects it to explode on him.
He doesn't say anything, still not sure what the point of it all was, beyond trying to kill them for no good reason.
When they just take the rock back to the lodge ... he then wonders why they put it here in the first place.
He then realizes he's spending too much time pondering these things, and decides he better leave, before they decide to send them back in... or somewhere worse. He quickly leaves through the door, only pausing at the entrance long enough to make sure there's no ambush waiting, before heading back to the city.

Once the party returns to the Grand Lodge...
Numair is met by an inscrutable Osiriani man, wearing a large sapphire jewel in a headband.
"It is time."
He then hands over an amulet consisting of a large chunk of cunningly shaped serpentine, in a silver setting.
Numair puts it on, and he immediately seems... sharper, and more focused.
The man smiles, and nods to Numair.
"Welcome to the Order, brother..."
This scenario tipped me over the minimum requirements, so that I finally qualified for the Jeweled Sage faction award :-D
