We added a bar last time! You're not getting two bars!

So, I've updated the starship handout, but it's late, so there's probably a few typos. I boosted the AC and shields and added a new toy for everyone. Doc gets an ECM that allows her to teleport the ship short distances. The rest of us Training Interface Modules, which grant unique starship combat abilities to crew members based on their class abilities. Recorva can spend RP to take crew actions with RAIN. Stefani gets some bonuses to her damage rolls. Damon can materialize an extra weapon of his choice (within limitations) made out of solar energy.

I'm looking over the new starship combat roles in the Character Operations Manual. Shabad qualifies for the Magic Officer role and can easily make the DC for most of the actions, except the Mystic Haze action, which she has a 30% chance of making. The Psychic Currents action requires more ranks than she has at present.

Since it looks like Shabad may not be able to use all those UPBs she scrounged up to use with Reanimate Construct spell, she might as well use them to create a few useful items during the trip.

She'll make a miniature sun, what I've been calling a sun lamp, for 1200 UPBs. This is a level 3 item, so with her 11 ranks in engineering, it only takes her an hour to craft.

She'll create the Tritidair weapon fusion for her semi-auto pistol, which can make half the damage electrical and gives it the bright special property and on a critical hit it has a chance of blinding the target. Seems a good fusion to half in the shadow dimension. Cost: 2300 UPBs, time 4 hours.

As a question though, which direction is the enemy ship facing? It is currently angled in a way that it doesn't point to any of faces of the hex it occupies, and knowing which way it will face will affect how Recorva moves this turn.

Currently the token is currently pointing directly at us, which is part of the issue. If it is the hex it is currently in, it would need to be slightly off directly at us (this wouldn't have changed any of the previous attacks).


Okay, fixed it and added an arrow to show its facing.

Sorry for the delay in posting as well. Yesterday was a long day and after work I celebrated my birthday with my wife. Just getting a chance to give some time to the combat options. I was also waiting on a post from Stefani with instructions on what she wanted Shabad to do tactically. If she wants to give the pilot a boost in the roll to see who acts first, I need advance notice to make the roll before the initiative phase.

I must be confusing games. I did not remember running Shabad as the captain of the starship, just the leader of the team.

Mystery solved. Xio had been the captain the last time we had starship battles. See this post.

Shabad belongs in the science officer, engineering, or magic officer roles. Most of the captain skills are charisma based and Shabad's is very low (8). We probably don't need a captain if we just let each other know, as Damon did, what you want from the ship. Shabad will work with Raine to make it so.

If no one has any requests, I will choose what I think would be most beneficial. Next round, she will try the Precognition action during the engineering part of the helm phase, just before the roll for initiative.

We have weapons in all those arcs, so I would orient our strongest shields towards the enemy.

This Mark III ability crystal is a big deal. Shabad already has upgrades boosting her intelligence and dexterity, so she would have to apply it to strength, constitution, or wisdom. (If she applied it to her charisma, it would just bring it up to 14, which would not do much except boost her ego.) The wisdom boost would help her will save, but that's already quite high. She could be a more effective fighter with the boost to strength or constitution, but neither would make her as good as the other PCs in this group.

So if your PC could get a significant boost to combat ability, please take it. Shabad will only use if if no one else can benefit much from it.

I can think of all sorts of fun things Damon could do with a mk3 ability boost (solarians are so MAD), but none of them benefit the group as much as applying it to Stef's Dex, so that's my vote.

Recorva wouldn't have a use for it aside from boosting her own Dex, which wouldn't be as beneficial as boosting Stef's, so that is her vote as well.


There is nowhere else to go in this direction. You can go either east or south now from the entry corridor.

Added the crystal and bumped Stef's Dexterity. I then realized that her Industrial Backpack wasn't checked as Equipped. Checked that and for some reason, I unchecked it and checked it again.

Big Mistake(tm).

Lots of validation errors and red error messages all over the character now.

Just want to report that my computer is in the shop. I'm posting this from my work computer, but if I don't post again for a few days it may mean I'm trying to post from home with a tablet and am encountering problems with logging into the Paizo. I've heard about the supposed fix of clearing cache and cookies, but haven't gotten that to work on my devices yet.

We are close to the end but there are still several more encounters to go. However, I would not be averse to narrating through them and setting us up at the final fight if everybody is ready to finish things up!

In regards to whether or not we narrate through up to the finale encounter or not, I would be fine with us doing it either way. I'll go ahead and post Recorva's and Rain's actions for this round though.

I'm good with playing on. I think there have just been a lot of things distracting people: dealing with COVID restrictions, job changes, family schedules changed, and political events. Most of my games are going slower than normal since December.

If we going to skip, let's perhaps get past this heart, which is obviously just an obstacle rather than the main event.


Alright, I will likely move us past the Heartgate and into the final adventure location soon. Just want to hear Damon's thoughts. Hopefully he isn't having trouble logging into the website and is just busy!
