Other info I need to know?
If you've not played with me before, do take some time to read heigh my profile to get an idea about me and expectations during the game.
I'm caught by surprise but should get a handouts slide up relatively soon.
Eadie Navhelan |
Hey GM Batpony!
Stoked to have you as a GM! Thanks so much for taking us on.
player name: Yours is mined
Character name: Eadie Navhelan
Class & levels: Vanilla Fighter 11
PFS id: 69095-3
Faction: Scarab Sages
Day job: take 10 Profession (scrivener): 10 + 6 = 16
Other info I need to know? Eadie is a fairly straight forward falchion fighter. Kuriq & Eadie played together in Tyranius’ Our Lady of Silver.
⚔ She enjoys DR 3/- from Armor training 3 - Armored Juggernaut.
⚔ Against crits she has a 50% chance to negate the crit, due to her secured armor feat + light fortification armor. A crit that gets through must still contend with her buffering cap
⚔ One of her favorite tricks is to douse her falchion with an oil of bless weapon before engaging evil opponents. Per the spell, this means she auto-confirms crit threats vs versus evil foes.
Rudzik |
Yay! Thanks for picking us up!
Player: Hawthwile
Character: Rudzik (and Wilk)
Class & levels: Hooded Champion Ranger 10
PFS #: 264524-5
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day job: Survival: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Interesting Information: Rudzik likes to put lots of arrows in his enemies.
- Favored Enemies: Outsiders (evil) +4, Humanoid (human) +2
- Favored Terrain: Underground +4, Urban +2
- Improved Precise Shot and Seeking enhancement on his bow should eliminate miss chances for anything less that total cover.
- Snap Shot lets him threaten the squares around him.
- Point Blank Master lets him not provoke AoOs for making ranged attacks.
- Theoretically, he could ride Wilk into combat (has not done so yet, so I haven't done all my reading up on mounted archery).
Sir Wilk |
"Woof!"
Wilk usually just guards Rudzik and is built to trip.
- Improved Trip and Greater Trip give Wilk a +4 bonus to trip and targets provoke AoOs from being tripped.
- Fury's Fall lets him add his Dex to CMB (in addition to Str) for tripping.
- Dirty Fighting gives him a +4 bonus to trip when flanking.
- Scent lets him find invisible opponents more easily.
Rudzik has scrolls of carry companion in case the situation does not call for a giant wolf.
Emberwik |
player name: Kyle "Worg" H
Character name: Emberwik
Class & levels: Oracle 10
PFS id: 220424-09
Faction: Dark Archive
Day job: Caravan: Diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29
Other info I need to know?
Emberwik is an Oracle of Zon-Kuthon. Shadows are his Mystery, and Blackened is his curse.
Fufills the roles of Blaster and Support, and carries a Staff of Fire. When up against something immune to fire, has a few alternative options.
Eadie Navhelan |
Hi Worg! Are you planning on attending Paizocon in May?
On a separate note … ♪
Hey Rudzik, I noticed you advertised a Share the Wealth (equipment) boon for trade on the boon trading thread.
I have a Vine Leshy and Ganzi race boon available. If you are interested in trading for either, please send me a PM :)
Doctor Meiosa |
Hey, GM Batpony. Thanks for filling in!
I'm finishing up some character updates but I should have her profile set up in the next 24 hours.
player name:
Character name: Doctor Meiosa
Class & levels: Beastmorph Alchemist 10
PFS id: 129030-5
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day job: Craft Alchemy (with class bonus and Crafter's Fortune running): 1d20 + 12 + 10 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 10 + 5 = 39
Other Info
- Meiosa's an absolute freak of nature thanks to going overboard on the discoveries (which are fluffed as implants and grafts from stolen monster organs) and as a result she tends to require heavy clothing and Disguise checks to go out in public.
- Meiosa's optimized anatomy gives her 25% fortification against crits and sneak attack.
- Meiosa's combat stats vary drastically depending on if she's able to get her buffs up. I'll have two separate statblocks to represent this.
- Thanks to wonderful discoveries in developing temporary symbiotic grafts, Meiosa is happy to report that she can share her extracts with the party. They are 100% safe for use.
- Worshiper of Lamashtu, though she has adopted a strict ethics policy since joining the Pathfinder Society.
- Meiosa's years of service to the Grand Lodge has earned her the leeway to pull some strings by sacrificing her downtime to review the mission site, allowing the group to retroactively succeed at the secondary success condition. (2/3 remaining)
- A recent experiment in full-body modification has rendered her immune to the effects of the cold, nonlethal damage, paralysis, and sleep. She's still exploring the potential side effects.
Emberwik |
Hey Yours! I am looking to go, I got two friends also looking to go with me.
GM Batpony |
I do remember Eadie very well! We still got 2 more that needs to check in and I'll msg them soon, if we don't hear from them in 24 hours I'll ask asking around for interest for replacements.
On a side note now that some of you are talking about Paizocon, where is it this year? I am moving to West Texas in March all the way from Asia for work, and am hoping to get some of that con action opportunity while I'm in the states!
Eadie Navhelan |
Paizocon is in Seattle, WA from May 24-27, 2019.
I had a great time last year. I met Worg – and Rosc too I believe.
(Rosc, I was the Australian at the bar after the banquet who said g’day to you and Worg, before you were chatting with Jason Bulmahn. We had a conversation about oozemorphs)
GM Batpony, your profile says you’re an engineer. *SNAP* I am as well.
Unnvar the Solemn |
Chaosorbit here...just got back from vacation (w/ no internet), will post my full sign-in a bit later in the day. But I'll be ready to go.

Player name: Eric Sklavos
Character name: Torrag Grimm
Class & levels: Earth Elemental Wizard 11
PFS id: 165646-2
Faction: Dark Archive
Day job: Librarian: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Other info I need to know?
Feral Hunter allows me as a swift to gain bonus of an emulated animal (Animal Focus/Feral Focus), the animal choices are in my profile.
Note for ALL: Chairperson on the Exchange FJC grants all other PCs +3 circumstance bonus on your day job.
Also if okay with GM I plan to use Fossilblight’s Savior boon from 8-13.
By retrieving the artifact known as Fossilblight, you’ve given the Pathfinder Society a chance at opening the Untouchable Opal. While the magical pick is integral to the Society’s plans to open Ranginori’s prison, the Decemvirate can be convinced to allow the weapon’s use in extreme circumstances. At the start of an adventure, you can requisition use of Fossilblight for the remainder of the adventure. If you requisition the use of this powerful artifact, check the box on this boon. Only one character per adventure can use this boon to requisition Fossilblight, and only if the box on her boon is unchecked.
This +3 keen adamantine heavy pick emits dim light from
its diamond head. Once per day, as a swift action, the
wielder can cause Fossilblight to ignore the hardness or DR
of a single object or creature (including DR/mythic) within
60 feet for the next 10 minutes. This weapon is capable of
making critical hits against elementals, despite that creature
type’s normal immunity to such attacks. Whenever the
bearer makes a successful critical hit, as an immediate action
she can voluntarily cease wielding Fossilblight and have the
weapon pin the target against any adjacent solid object. The
weapon’s CMD for the purpose of escaping this effect is equal
to half the damage dealt during the critical hit. A creature
pinned in this way takes 2d6+6 points of damage at the end
of its turn for the first 3 rounds in which it remains pinned.
Rudzik |
Rudzik will also make use of the following boon:
Rudzik will want the 10 pieces of ammunition. Since there is no description of the material, he'd like to have +1 cold iron holy arrows if possible.
GM Batpony |
Quick heads up, I'm currently off site with internet connection and will be returning Tuesday night Malaysia/Singapore time. So early morning Tuesday US time. I don't plan to have a replacement GM cover and we'll pick up pace Tuesday, I'll be a little slow in updating today but nonetheless will make sure to at least get a post in!
Doctor Meiosa |
That feeling when you've been reloading the PBP all day wondering why there's no posting.
Only to realize that it's been continuing on a second page. Oi.
Unnvar the Solemn |
:-P
Doctor Meiosa |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
We've got an aid token! They're pretty smoke-em-if-ya-got-em. I strongly suggest we make use of it this fight and pass it on, if only to make sure more aids are used throughout the special. Also, ending this one faster means more goals for the group at large.
GM Batpony |
Aid tokens in this special are one off uses (We won't be passing any tokens in this one), and must be used before this act is over.
Your options in summary:
Aid Another: Aid bonus +2
Allied Offensive: Increase damage dealt by 3d8
Burst of healing: All PCs heal 5d6
Spellcasting Synergy: +2 DC to spell and additional damage equal to spell level.
Emberwik |
Allied Offensive sounds like a decent choice to wrap this up.
Rudzik |
Maybe whoever goes into melee next, to benefit from the flanking bonus?
Doctor Meiosa |
Maybe whoever goes into melee next, to benefit from the flanking bonus?
Seems legit.
GM Silbeg |
Fresh from their victory, the group of seekers, Candi Payne and her companion Donna the Viper, Obsidean, Sister Ayako, Slimjim Son of House Shady, and Elric promise aid to the Pathfinders, should they need it.
Posted in discussion, so this post doesn't clutter my overcluttered campaign page
GM Batpony |
Hey guys, just wanted to apologize if I've been inconsistent in my post quality. Due to the special being time sensitive, I've prioritize pace over quality and depth, which has me posting at 5am and during work hours!
Doctor Meiosa |
Hey, no problem. The effort is appreciated! My oddball schedule has me phone-posting from work every now and then, which is why a couple of my posts are infested with typos.
Yes, it's the phone's fault.
And nothing else.
Eadie Navhelan |
No need to apologize, GM Batpony. Specials are fast paced and real life doesn't care. It keeps churning on regardless.
Thank-you again for all you're doing.
Unnvar the Solemn |
Your doing great! Appreciate the pace! Sorry if I've been behind a few times.
Emberwik |
From what I have seen we aren't falling behind, so everything is still good :D
GM Batpony |
One thing I love about PBP as a GM is that you have the ability to read up lore, abilities and what not in between so that you're much more informed in making meaningful post. But as it was said recently by one of the other GMs about high tier games, there's so much to remember, and you don't have the other 6 people around the table to immediately remind you of stuff like this before you make that post!
Edit: After this combat, you would have effectively have completed all the outer district missions, so do let me know which district you would like to head down towards next. Based on the live map, all is equally under control.
Unnvar the Solemn |
Totally agree! Happens to me all the time Batpony, as you well know from playing in my games in the past.
Doctor Meiosa |
I just got some artwork of Meiosa from the artist behind the Handbook of Heroes comic and I think we should take a moment to appreciate how awesome this is.
Unnvar the Solemn |
Very Cool!
Eadie Navhelan |
GM Batpony, I should have made it clearer, Eadie has DR 3/- in heavy armor, so I make it she only took 24 hp from the Hezrou attack.
My apologies.
Can we use the damage option on Eadie's last attack, please?
Is it possible to retroactively apply one of the aid tokens to the damage Eadie did on Blue in the first round?
Rudzik |
So it looks like Torrag has the knowledge checks needed, but needs to use each one as a line of questioning to find the demon who doesn't know what the person it's imitating should know. Is that correct? Because if those are our only options, apparently we're pretty terrible at sensing motives and we could be here for a while.
Well, if there's no penalty for failure, can we Take 20 on our Sense Motive checks? It would probably take ~20 minutes for each person (so 80 minutes total), which would eat into buffs, but it might be faster (out-of-game). Thoughts from the GM/party?
Eadie Navhelan |
I dunno if it's in the spirit of the game to take 20, and as you point out it will take a fair bit of time.
I agree Torrag has the best chance of rolling a high Knowledge check to help sort the sheep from the goats -- and a SM check high enough to identify the imposter.
I think our best bet is to aid him with rolepay and assists. Maybe try something creative, like what the Doc did with Knowledge (nature). The angle she tried with the elven arcanist seemed appropriate to me.
GM Batpony |
Yeah, I would argue against taking 20 as it is against the spirit of the game. Also the taking 20 text says "you are faced with no threats or distractions," In a situation like this you are definitely faced with threats of a city being destroyed, so time is of the essence.
Also you guys did beautifully on the Kn rolls unfortunately the DC is shifting each time as I'm rolling it, if you had a good sense motive roll earlier you would have nailed it! Also if you do rollplay it and ask specific questions, there will be verbal clues in the text regardless of how you do on the sense motive rolls.
Eadie Navhelan |
No problem :)
• I assumed you would be OK with Eadie being enlarged before combat began (even though she was only medium sized on your starting map)
• I have never experienced reverse gravity before in any edition of the game
• The discussion about “cubes” really confused me
• When you wrote “4 out of 5 boxes would cover all of you”, I assumed we had to be fully inside a cube to make the effect work – like how you’ve drawn a box completely around (large) Sir Wilk
• With the original setup, medium Eadie was fully inside a cube
• But large Eadie wouldn’t be
• So I assumed you would want large Eadie to be affected by the reverse gravity as a priority over everything else and so moved her completely inside the nearest cube
How do you want to move forward?
GM Batpony |
3D combat is cumbersome!
I definitely would be OK with Eadie being enlarged beforehand, but from a retcon persepctive it would make sense wherever Eadie was the creature would ensure that Eadie would be trapped into reverse gravity.
And from a starting position I wanted to make sure fairly for both sides there was enough space that each party could "charge" but not one side having a possible 5ft and full attack advantage. So if Eadie was large I'd imagine she would be at least 1 square back and totally be in a full square of reverse gravity. I'm going to try to redraw the boxes.
From a 3D perspective, Eadie in the gravitational boxes would still "fall" the full 30 ft height, meaning 20ft above ground...

[ ][ ]
[ ][ ]
[ ][ ]
With that said, I'm totally happy for you to completely retcon your turn to what you think Eadie would do now that she's found herself 20ft above ground.
Eadie Navhelan |
I make damage up until Eadie’s turn: 38 - 10 + 23 + 24 + 27 + 23 - 10 + 22 - 10 + 14 + 28 - 10 = 159
Noting Dr M has pounce and Rudik is using good aligned (holy) arrows.
Eadie Navhelan |
Guys, once we've dropped the glabrezu, I vote to take on the two hezrous next.
I'd really like to deal with them while Eadie's freedom of movement spell is still active.
Rudzik |
Meiosa also stated she was hoping for the dragon. But I can certainly understand wanting that benefit vs known grapplers.
Eadie Navhelan |
Any reason why we can't do both, one after the other?
Unnvar the Solemn |
Okay with me...feel like we are close on the glabrezu. Kinda want to save my Potion of Fly for the dragon...may wait a round and see if I can conserve it.
Doctor Meiosa |
Hey, dropping a heads up. I'll be going to a convention over the weekend and it will involve a lot of volunteer GMing. My posting may slow down over the next few days.
If you need to bot Meiosa, feel free to. All of her major buffs are active, so she's basically a power attacking pouncebot at this point. The main tactical variance is that she'll use the Spontaneous Healing discovery to keep up during combat, but she'll always save a couple rounds of it to stabilize in case she gets knocked out.
Also she's got a couple Enlarge Persons that she can share with people.
Doctor Meiosa |
Hoo boy. Ever see something to good to be true? It was brought to my attention that Meiosa's Fleshwarped Scorpion Tail is actually an illegal item. After double checking, it seems that I originally I misread the additional resources page, mixing up the "following items are not legal" with one of their "following items are legal" statements.
I've pulled the item from her attack routine and I won't be using it for the rest of the adventure. I'm sure we can get this sorted out on the chronicle somehow. Forced refund, perhaps?
Sorry about the mix-up, Batpony.
Doctor Meiosa |
Well, completing Siege will net me my 26th chronicle, and I picked it up on my 21st.
