Rumors abound of a map that leads to a treasure of unimaginable value. When chance drops the map into your hands, you have the chance to become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams. But you’re not the only ones with that dream. The chase is on.

After a night at the Green's Rest you all arrive for a meal at the dining room of Green’s Rest, known for their delicious cinnamon honey (the locals speak highly of the place).

An elf walks in, nimbly stepping around some chairs that was in his way. He wears black leather armor with a rapier on his hip and a pair of daggers on his chest. He has a seat with his back to the wall. His eyes are always shifting from one person to another. He orders a meal and a drink.


He had needed a place to lay low, and the Green's Rest fit the bill well enough. Zdravko was supposed to go down in the 4th round, but he knocked out Chaz in the 2nd...the cartel wouldn't be happy about it. They'd come after him, and take their money out of his hide.

No one could help him, the underground street fighting scene for all intents and purposes did not exist in Waterdeep. This was a hole he crawled into and one hed have to crawl out of himself.

He ordered a hard drink and drained it instantly, cuts and bruises on his face still quite fresh and oozing. He motioned to the elf to join him by smacking his hand on the table a few times "Share a bottle with me, elf. It's no good going at it alone."

"Thank you friend, The name is Q'lee." As he takes a sip of the wine.

Augar sat in a chair near a fire. He had arrived a while ago and was warming up a bit of his hands as the beer and ale here was cold. It was an amazing contraption that he was jealous of.

The reddish-brown haired dwarf with gray eyes looks over to the man who came in all bruised and bloodied. He humped as he lifted his cool ale to his lips and drank in some of the golden liquid and wondered if they put some berries or possibly the cinnamon in it if it would enhance it's already sweet and full-bodied, but maybe that kick of cinnamon would improve it. He let the thought settle as he observed wondering what the drunk fighter would either drink until he passed out or if he would pass out form pain.

dotting in, he is actually a vengance Paladin 3 Sorcerer 1, an elf didn't know this started, so I didn't bother to fix the alias to match the what my AL character is, will have it up later tonight.

"'Q'lee'? That name from the Neverwinter Wood or Kryptgarden...? Been in the city long?" his tone was idle and only slightly interested, really he just wanted to hear something besides the ringing in his ears until intoxication solved the medical issue permanently. The puffiness under his eye seemed to be getting bigger and bigger as time went on.

He raised an eyebrow at the dwarf experimenting with the famous cinnamon honey, and shrugging his shoulders decided to take a try himself, adding a few drops to his whiskey.

Zdravko was too drunk or too uneducated or both to understand the mention of simulacra by the stout warrior entering.


Zdravko gets a raised a raised eyebrow as he orders a hard drink so early in the morning, but, no questions asked, he gets it with his breakfast. Otherwise the two owners are busy serving. You notice Duric pestering Zel (both are co-owners of the place) about something. Duric then comes to your table, producing a sheet of paper. "Does this map belong to you? After this little brawl here we found this map. There was no one else staying here overnight, so, it belongs to you, or?"
Seeing their faces he shrugs and continues, "just keep it, there are a lot of rumours in town about a map. So, if you find something, come back and give us your business," he adds with a smile and a wink.

At the top of the map you recognize a glyph at the top, where a map title would be glowing in a pale gold.

DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check:

Augar blinks at the man then at the map and comes over to inspect it.

[b]"I heard mention of a map?" he says as he looks at it wondering want it is. You never know it could be an old Dwarven Ruin.


"Heh, na its not mine. I can't draw an orc skull that well...that house looks sorta familiar though...like maybe a South Ward style?" he takes another drink before confusingly "You said theres a lot of rumors about a map? I must've been outta the loop a while, care to fill me in?"

Rumours about a treasure map have been all over the city, all of you have picked up a bit.

Zdravko:
You recognize the skull as a troll’s skull depicted, reminding you off Trollskull Alley.
You remember, a bit, that someone had to break up a fight on the streets...it turns out the “genuine treasure map” they were fighting over was an old scrap of newspaper!

Q'Lee:
As you have wandered the streets yesterday you remember that at a bookshop someone tried to pocket an old scroll. The City Watch took her away in cuffs!

Augar:
You heard that pirates from the islands beyond Chult are
selling the real treasure map, but you don’t want to know what they’re asking.

Zirul:
You heard people talking about Durnan and that Durnan must have buried his treasure somewhere in the city. It’s just a question of where.

"This city is gone treasure map crazy. The other day I saw someone get arrested for try to steal an old scroll at a bookstore. It would be quite funny if this is the map everyone is truly after."


Resetting his jaw "Oh yeah, I do remember some fuss about a treasure before Chaz cleaned my clock...wait a minute...lemme see that...thats not an orc skull, its a troll skull." he snaps his bloody finger quick "Bet that's a house in Trollskull Alley!"

"I heard of pirates seeking and losing a map. This could be it" He says reaching up to stroke his chin.

Finishing his drink, grinning "Well what do you lot think, a little morning adventure? Have to admit, my interest has been piqued. What say we saunter over to Trollskull Alley and look for that house or a bird man statue, get our bearings?"

'Flying Daggers ye say?" Augar rubs his chin and then strokes his beard."Wonder if we capture 'em if we can master 'em" He says wondering if that were possible and if not if one could disenchant them and then reenchant them to fly upon the master's command.

"I have nothing better to do right now, lets see if the map is real. I just need to grab my gear from my room."
Q'lee finishes his last bite and heads for his room. Once he grabs his bow and pack, he quickly returns to the group.


Moving you to Trollskull Alley, in Campaign Info some legal information regarding Waterdeep
This squat, three-story house is the only building with round windows and side stairs in the area. It’s bordered on both sides by other residences.

'Seems a simple building" He says looking at the building with a builders' eye scrutinizing it thoroughly.

'Is that the one?"He ends up asking taping the nearest person next to him with his gauntleted hand.


"Yeah, gotta be it. Wonder if anyone's home..." he walks up to the door and knock. knock-knock-knock. knock...knock-knocks.


A teenage boy answers the door “no more, uh, um, v-visitors.”

"Watcha' mean by more visitors lad?" He asks a bit concerned for the child.

"Have others come 'ere before? And are you Alright?"


"No, no, no one h-has been here, ev-everything okay."

"You seem a little out of sorts child, are you sure every thing is fine?"

Q'Lee draws his sword and gets ready to rush in when the door is open.


You shove the poor boy aside, you get a glimpse of a man running down the stairs as he vanishes into the basement. "Run, run, the watch!"

Q'Lee gives chase


Zdravko shrugs a split second in hesitation before joining the chase. He wasn't really sure why he was chasing these people, but on the other hand he was drunk and having a good time.


You give chase and follow, through what must have been a secret door, now standing open. As you follow you enter the sewer system, but the men split up. You occasionally get a glimpse of one man, but they seem to know the sewer system better then you and they manage to loose you. Frustrated you make it back to the house.

WHen Q'Lee returns to the house and finds the boy.
"So what was that all about boy, What did te men want and do you know who they were?"


"I,I'm no-not tellin a-anything."


"Oh look, haha, he's trying to be tough. Adorable." he twirls his nunchaku idly "Yeah, I get it...you ain't a snitch right? Word of advice, kid. The street has eyes and it never forgets. Being tight lipped only works if your on the right...the powerful...side of things, which-the way the city's been acting about this place...I'm gonna guess you ain't. You'd be better severing your ties with those jokers while you can."


The boy looks to the ground, "hm, hm, maybe you are right...."

Huffing and puffing Augar having gone down the stairs and then back up and is now shaking his head.blast it all I am too old for this running around"

Augar flashes a dour look but doesn't say anything. He instead folds his arms and strokes his beard as he scowls.

Looking at the elf, the boy opens up: "I just joined the crew. Pay is good, but smuggling makes some on, although, not really something the city watch likes to see happening here. I am only the lookout, to make them aware if the city watch approaches. Might have not been my best idea to join them."

"'Big Birdman' mean anything to you? How about this symbol...?" he traces out the glyph on the floor.


He looks at the symbol, "what is this?"
