Phase One Cont'd
The projectiles from the kinetic weapons fired by Starfinders fails to find their mark.
Jeen’s well-built spring-loaded launcher flings a vial goo, far afield from its target, causing the container to crash and congeal on a pile of trash.
Only M’linda’s shot strikes true and the results are disasterous!

Please adjust for weapon damage received.
No damage received this round.
Nyizin has some trouble coming out of the turn and has to slow down to stay atop her machine. Fearing that she is loosing ground too quickly, the ryphorian kicks her vehicle into high gear. As the plating on her junk racer slides into a new configuration, accordingly, a number of the vehicle's internal components become exposed.
Nyizin moves 250 ft.
Unscathed by assaults from the other racers, Orsis' racer zooms forward.
Orsis moves 500 ft.[ooc]
Already a skilled pilot and racer, the track-favorite, Ratrod, could have maintained his growing lead on Laboni on pure skill alone. The energy-absorbing modifications to his racer simply make it all the more easier for him to do so. The ysoki remains in the lead.
[ooc]Ratrod moves 550 ft.
Equal, if not superior, in skill to the ysoki champion, Velocity finds the modifications installed on their racer by the Starfinders not to be quite as innovative as Ratrod's energy-absorbing mods, but to, nevertheless, be sufficient to allow them to keep pace with the race leader.
Velocity moves 550 ft.
Whether overcompensating from the damage to the junkracer earlier inflicted by Ratrod or shock at the ysoki champion’s fiendishly-clever, energy-absorbing device, URDOA is unable to maintain full speed of Laboni's racer around the first turn.
Laboni moves 325 ft.
The Starfinder falls into last place!

Ratrod moves 0 ft!
A collective, "GASP!", seems to echo from the crowds, followed by a sudden rise of surprised hollers and cheers.

Laboni appears to wince a little at the question, then looks over at the Starfinder agents.
"I...," she hesitates for a moment, then continues, "I made a mistake--a few of them."
"I am sorry, Ratrod." she says, looking over at the sulking ysoki. "Building a racer is hard work--a lot harder than I thought it would be. And it can't be done right with just one person. Anyone who can help get a junk racer up and running is as 'real' a mechanic. Ratrod and his crew are the 'real' deal."
"And, fortunately for me, the Salvage Union has a lot of fantastic spare parts available from which my team and I could pick from! Quality parts provided a quality racer!" she says. "One that I look forward to entering in my next competition against Ratrod and these other amazing competitors!" She flashes a smile at both Ratrod and Velocity.
This announcement is followed by innumerable flashes from camera drones and a cacophony of offer Laboni some extra payment in the form of collected gear, on top of the race’s prize money.
Following the race, a grateful Laboni presents you with a set of graphite carbon skin armor and 400 credits from the race’s prize pool. Your celebration is interrupted by a summons from Guidance. The artificial intelligence requests that you return to the Lorespire Complex.
Feel free to continue with post-race dialogue and actions. I'll wrap up tomorrow.
