Jin just giggles again as she shrugs. Giving Laenid a slight smirk as they head into the kitchen she says, "Wellll....I guess you don't have to believe me. So, what dfo you feel like for breakfast?"
Hitome makes her way downstairs, smiling as she sees Jin and Laenid. "Good morning you two." she says cheerfully.
”Can’t argue with that.” Toska tells Auric.
"I doubt I'd like being at someone's beck and call."
”Depends on who’s holding the leash. So far she ain’t so bad.”
Jin gives Hitome a smile as she puts the kettle on for some tea, "Good morning to you too. We were just figuring out what we would like for breakfast. Do you have any ideas? I guess it kinda depends on how much we need to make. Is Malyoxa gonna be joining us for breakfast?" She asks as nonchalantly as possible, while maintaining her innocent expression.
Laenid shrugs. "I'll let Hitome decide. I don't really have a preference this morning."
Jin looks at Hitome to see what she felt like eating.
Hadrinn gives Yulia and Drago a warm smile as they walk in. "Good morning. Sit where you like."
"Any preference, love?" Yulia asks.
"I'm sure there are more than a few bad apples out there," Gyrthr says. "Summoners who only see their eidolons as tools to be used."
Toska nods. Thankfully he hadn’t encountered any of those yet.
"Not for breakfast today, but that's actually something I wanted to talk to you about." Hitome says taking a deep breath.
"Oh and I'm fine with eggs or oats or anything you might have had in mind for breakfast." she says remembering the other part of the conversation.
Shaking his head, "Sorry, lost in thought. I'll do my best to convince the others to do so."
Jin tries really really hard to suppress her grin, which is really hard to do as she hears the tone in Hitome's voice.
Back in her original form, her three tails swish happily as shed makes her way over to the fridge. Hiding her smile by peering into the cold box she asks, "Ohh really? Well...what did you want tuo talk to us about? We can talk while I get breakfast ready. I got thed stuff to make ginger tea with while at the market place. If you could make the tea when the water is ready Hitome, I can make some vegi omelettes and rice for us, if that sounds good? I think it's a bit early for fish." Composing herself as she pulls stuff out of the cold box, she goes to a counter to start preparing the food as she waits on pins and needles to hear what Hitome might have to say.
"Of course!" Hitome says going over to begin making tea. "So Malyoxa and I were talking, and I think she's done with being a midwife. She wants to step away from it all and...well she wants a more normal life, with me."
"She understands my role as a Midwife, but she would be....well, the one I come home to after we are out in the field. I wanted to talk to you about her moving in here later today."

Jin whips her head up so fast that you could swear you heard it crack, "Really?! Like really really?!" Unable to hide her happiness or enthusiasm any longer, she nearly bounces on the balls of her feet as she runs over to Hitome. Putting her arms around her midwife she smiles up at her, "Oh Hitome, I'm so happy for you both. We'll just have to celebrate later." Her smile fades just ever so slightly, "Do you think Ms. Toni will be okay with it? I understand duty and all that, but....Malyoxa is a person too. Oh I do hope Toni is okay, I don't want her feelings hurt either....but, I'm just so happy for you. Everyone deserves to be happy right?" She asks, while letting go of Hitome and trying to compose herself.
"So, what sort of warrior are you?" Gyrthr asks Toska. "I mean no offense by the question, but I was curious as to what skills you have."
Yulia leads Drago to a table near the fireplace. "I'll have an omelette, Hadrinn, and some juice."

"Oh?" Toska lets out before thinking on it. "I can sneak and try to be aware of threats, and I have approximate knowledge of the unliving and dragons, and I am trained in the base and crude art of the cut. With this body I can also make spirits tangible to blades for those around me. Also," he stops and scratches the side of his head. "This may just be remembrances, phantom pains, but I think my reflexes are good, if someone else is in danger. Not the best, but I felt it during the last fight, always wanting to reach out, but I wasn't close enough to do so. People got hurt."
"Eh, I think we did okay," Auric says, touching a bruise and wincing.
"Yes, everyone does deserve to be happy if they're a good person." Hitome says with a smile.
”Okay is not good enough, ‘okay’ can go bad easily enough. Especially when it concerns life and death.” Toska says while watching the Halfling.
Jin looks up at Hitome with an inquisitive expression, "How does one tell the difference between good and bad? Isn't it just a matter of perspective? I mean....I bet there are some people that aren't very fond of us." Shrugging slightly she says, "I don't know, I just don't think everything is so black and white all the time. Anyways, I'm happy for you guys and everything, I just don't want Toni to feel bad. I don't want her to feel like she's being abandoned. Do you think that seems weird?"
"That actually sounds good. I'll have the same Hadrinn."
The dwarf nods and goes to get the dhampirs' breakfast.
Auric thinks upon Toska's words and simply shrugs when he can't find a defense that sounds like an excuse.
"Sometimes, you have to settle for 'okay'," Gyrthr says. "We won this battle, but we may lose the next one. We aren't an elite fighting unit...we're just...gifted people. I'm not sure how we can achieve 'better'."
”I don’t know either, other than trying our best.” Toska says while thinking, before smiling and chuckling. ”I’m pretty sure settling for okay is how I wound up in this in the first place.”
Auric raises an eyebrow. "You make it sound like it's a bad thing."
Yulia gives Drago's hand a light squeeze as they wait for their food.
Toska blinks. ”Auric... what do you know about Duskwalkers?” he finally asks.
"Oh, I didn't think you were talking about that," Auric says. "I can't say that I know anything about Duskwalkers because you're the first one I've met. There doesn't seem to be anything bad about you, though."
Toska smiles. ”That’s good to hear.”
Drago lightly squeezed back as he gazed lovingly into her eyes.
Svanna comes into the living room and gives a welcoming gesture to Toska and Auric. She then sits next to her husband.
Hadrinn returns with Drago and Yulia's food and drinks. "Enjoy."
"Thank you, Hadrinn."

Gyrthr smiles. "We can't really judge each other on who we are, only by what we do."
Jin looks away, "I'm sorry...I think sometimes I just ask some stupid questions. I just want everyone to be happy, even though I know that's not always possible."
Toska smiles at Svanna and tries to return her gesture in greeting before turning and nodding to Gyrthr.
"If Malyoxa is going to be unhappy being a Midwife, then she shouldn't do it," Laenid says. "It won't help Toni when things are dire."
Svanna notices Auric's discomfort and lays a healing hand on him.
Auric lets out a relieved breath. "Thanks, Svanna. Guess I was a little more banged up than I thought."
Jin nods, "Yeah."
Toska gives Auric a look before sighing with relief.
Auric glances at Toska. "What? In the heat of the moment, I wasn't really concerned with myself."
"So...what should we eat?" Laenid asks.
Jin gives Laenid a look of concern, "Are you feeling okay Neenee? I was gonna make vegi omelettes and rice...but, if you want something else I can fix a different dish." She says while bringing a hand to Laenid's forehead.
"I'm fine," Laenid says. "I forgot you said that with the whole conversation about Malyoxa going on."
She nods while she finishes up getting the ingredients put together and heating up the pan on the stove, "It's okay Neenee, there's been a lot of excitement this morning." Jin says with a smile aimed over at Hitome.
With the rice going, Jin starts making the omelettes.
Toska chuckles. ”It hasn’t been the heat of the moment for a couple of hours.”
