So, once you guys have updated your aliases, I'd like you to split into: A.) two pairs OR B.) A trio and a solo ; groups already know, respect, and have worked with each other in the past, and came to the adventure site together.
The party is currently in the City of Brass, trying to track down the suppliers for a group of djinni terrorists. There are a few leads, and after you're paired up I'll give you a few different choices of "introduction scene", based on where you'd like to be introduced.

I like that no one is an actual humanoid. Which...means we're all immune to Nymph blinding.

As Sir Crunchy is "transferring" from a boring Riftwarden office to an on-field assignment, he would be fine either going with a group or going alone.
Of course, a lone crab wandering the city of brass might be endangered by the various food vendors of the city looking to turn him into a succulent meal... Which would be fun to deal with in it's own way.

Terex would find you all fascinating and would love to travel with any of you. :D The City of Brass is a rather warm place--Terex can manage a few endure elements in a day, if that's a consideration for someone pairing up with him.
Oh, @GM: question on Terex's poison and SR, would they scale with his total hit dice or are they stuck with just his racial hit die?

Terexaltherin's poison DC scales, since the DC is based on Hit Dice. However, SR is not based on hit dice, so it wouldn't scale.
You guys do actually need to be decisive for it to count, though.

As for meeting other characters, Sir Crunchy may have spent the last several years in an office, but that doesn't disclude him from forming a party with anyone else. After all, he could have received his new assignment with instructions to meet up with fellow riftwardens in advance.
"Sir Crunchy, you have been re-assigned: Please meet up with your party members in order to plane shift to the Plane of Fire, where you will receive further instructions in the City of Brass."
Or something along those lines, in any case.

I'm particularly interested in both the supply chain tracking and the Djinni pride leads
On one hand, as an accountant, Sir Crunchy would love to poor over documents and ledgers to track nefarious deeds.
On the other hand, as he lives on the Plane of Air, working for some Djinni vizier's on behalf of the Riftwardens would also fit.

Amarélys not too happily elects to follow Zadok's advice. She was quite flustered that someone would not heed her words. It was rare and not too pleasant. But, they couldn't just go on arguing, time was of the essence. Wearing her face like a mask under her mask, to avoid giving up her current stance, Amarélys waits silently for Kalio to come back.
"Thank you." she says in answer before attempting to take back control of the situation. "This one is probably the most important one since they were about to transport her away first." she says, pointing at the sylph on the ground.
And, after ignoring the awkwardly positioned body for the whole absence of Kalio, because she was flustered, Amarélys finally bows to put it in a more appropriate position.
"Who are you, as in what are you guiding motives, would be a good first question. There is little reason to lie about it. Can it be better translate in Auran, to have this kind of deeper meaning?" she asks Kalio
So, is it a normal bag?
