I wasn't sure how long was required to help with the bridge or where I needed to be. I assumed that 1 move action would be need to get to the bridge and my standard action to stabilize it. If those assumptions were wrong and I have more actions, Ill take them...


Stabilizing the bridge should be only a Standard Action

Moving out to reinforce the bridge, Fixit unfortunately fails to notice a wave of energy that deals him significant damage. Pangea-Kappa, helping to stabilize the bridge from a distance, manages to use the walls around him to shield himself from any damage.

Fixit, you take 2 points of acid damage.

Everyone is now free to take their rounds worth of actions. Any checks to cross the bridge now gain a +2 bonus, due to the work of Fixit and Pangea-Kappa.

Poppilo ended the turn still on the bridge still will continue to roll the acrobatics check.

Poppilo nods in thanks to the hardworking technicians who have stabilised the bridge while he rushes across the remaining 10ft or so into the shelter.

Vlodkoya, who has just fallen over in the storm, grumbles and pulls out another syringe, sticking himself in the arm. "Focus, Vlodkoya! You is best medical professional!"

Using my standard action to grant myself a restorative (+2 enhancement bonus to all skill checks for 4 rounds) and my move action to try and get across this bridge.

Donovan gets to the protection of the ruined building.

Poppilo manages to enter the next building without incident, moving up to a large hole melted near the far side of the shelter. He is quickly joined there by Basalt, who likewise manages to avoid having any issues.

As Vlodkoya injects himself with one of his concoctions and pumps himself up, he feels fairly confident that he will be able to cross the bridge unscathed. Dashing across the uneven surface, he begins maneuvering around Donovan. However, as the tall vesk moves past the shorter human, he feels the edge of the bridge fall away beneath one of his feet, causing him to tumble and fall into the ravine. In the process, he somehow manages to knock Donovan off balance, who then falls off the opposite side of the bridge, passing straight through a wave of dissolving energy.

Falling down, they both land prone, Vlodkoya on his side and Donovan on his back, feeling the breath knocked out of them. Expecting a much more painful fall, however, they then remember the low gravity of the planet, which must have helped cushion their fall.

Vlodkoya takes 6 bludgeoning damage from the fall. Donovan takes 1 acid damage and 4 bludgeoning damage. Both are prone at the bottom of the ravine.

"Silly human! You have made me knock us off little bridge! Your butt is much too big!" Vlodkoya accosts Donovan for his own failures while getting up, but he wastes no time in trying to climb out of the ravine.

Poppilo hears the a loud commotion and screams outside. Figuring out what might have happened, he returns back to the direction of the bridge, while pulling out his titanium alloy cable. Surprisingly, he doesn't make any comment.

Basalt rushes back outside, snatching Poppilo's cable if he is amenable. The shirren then dangles it into the ravine. "Worry not Crew, Basalt will help!"

"That should do it! Now.... to cross!"

EDIT: Assuming Fixit falls, he can stand from prone as a swift action. Then use his 2nd action to try and climb out.

Round 2

Pangea-Kappa manages to easily clear the ravine using his jump jets, avoiding the bridge entirely. However, in doing so he manages to pass straight through a wave of energy taking 1 point of acid damage.

Having worked on stabilizing the bridge, Fixit begins to run across the bridge to join up with the rest of the party. Unfortunately, a gust of wind nudges him off the side, sending him falling down next to Vlodkoya taking 3 points of bludgeoning damage. Recovering quickly from the fall, he manages to stand up and begin climbing up the wall, getting about halfway up.

Round 3

Still laying at the bottom of the ravine, Vlodkoya and Donovan each stand and move to begin climbing the wall. Digging his thick claws into the rough and pitted stone, Vlodkoya manages to pull himself level with Fixit, but is unable to pull himself out of the way of a passing wave of energy taking 3 points of acid damage. Donovan, on the other hand, can't quite get a good grip on the wall. Remaining stuck at the bottom of the ravine, he is relatively sheltered from the storm.

Hearing the commotion of half their team falling into a ravine, Poppilo and Basalt each begin moving back towards the gorge. Pulling out a length of cabling, Poppilo potentially hands it off to the shirren. Basalt then continues on and dangles the wire down to help Donovan with the climb.

Would we need two separate cables? Looks like they have fallen on opposite sides? Anyone else has cable?


Seeing as how your cable line is 50 feet in length, you would need an additional line if you wished to extend it over both sides of the bridge (as the chasm is 30 feet deep). However, Donovan could easily move over next to Vlodkoya & Fixit, letting the cable be climbed by any of them from that side.

Round 3

Fixit manages to climb up to the top of the ravine, before scurrying to safety in the nearby building. Unfortunately, a wave of dissolving energy passes over him as he runs dealing 3 points of acid damage. Meanwhile, Pangea-Kappa runs back out onto the bridge, keeping a stable footing while lowering a cable down to Vlodkoya.

Round 4

Vlodkoya, grabbing onto a patch of crumbling stone, falls back into the pit taking 2 points of bludgeoining damage, and manages to stand back up and brace his claws against the wall. On the other side of the bridge, Donovan grabs hold of the dangling cable and manages to pull himself up to the top of the ravine, but in doing so gets washed over by a wave of energy taking 3 points of acid damage. Meanwhile, above the gorge, Basalt and Poppilo both manage to ride out the storm without any ill effects.

Round 4

Pangea-Kappa stands ready to help pull up Vlodkoya, but this causes a series of small waves to wash over him taking 1 points of acid damage. Fixit, meanwhile, manages to avoid any damage while huddling inside the structure.

Round 5

Still in the shelter, Poppilo somehow manages to position himself directly in the path of a wave of dissolving energy taking 3 points of acid damage. "Doctor" Vlodkoya, with the assistance of Pangea-Kappa, manages to clamber all the way out of the gorge. However, in doing so, he passes through some dissolving waves taking 3 points of acid damage. Basalt manages to avoid any damage as he stands near the gorge.

Round 5

With everyone finally out of the ravine, Basalt, Pangea-Kappa and Donovan manage to all get into shelter within the nearest building. Everyone is easily able to find shelter from the storm, with the degrading dome taking the majority of the damage. As everyone pauses for a moment, you notice that the storm seems to calm, with fewer bursts of dissolving energy occurring in the vicinity. From this point on, no more saving throws are needed. As such, you are no longer limited to round-by-round movements.

Quickly dashing from one building to the next as the rest of the crew shelters in the previous dome, Popillo and Fixit quickly enter the ruin closest to their objective. As they look around the room, they notice that a body lies still inside the remains of this decaying structure. Rubble currently pins the body’s feet to the ground. When a piece of stone is launched into its side by the storm, a hoarse sob resounds from the figure. It twitches before going still once more, the rise and fall of its torso growing shallow with each breath.

Fixit rushes to the wounded person and begins some basic first aid.

Fixit has +11 in Medicine (as does the good Doctor) but I've just realised he has no medical gear. Something I plan to rectify as soon as this scenario has finished. Fixit can autosucceed at an Aid Another or borrow the Doctor's gear and try for a better roll if his is terrible. Also, as soon as we have 10 minutes - Fixit would really like to rest. His SP are basically zero.

Without something to do to help, Basalt looms over the trapped body. "You are alive," they say happily. "Congratulations."

They they realize the unfortunate soul might stay that way longer if the rubble was moved, and starts doing so gingerly.

Is there a check to move the wreckage safely or effectively?

Poppilo doesn't seem to care that the creature probably wouldn't understand him. Despite saying this, he goes over and attempts to see how the alien is doing, although he wisely leaves the heavy lifting to the others.

"FEAR NOT! The Great Doctor is here!" Rushing up, Vlodkoya pulls a junky-looking apparatus out of his pocket and points it at the injured creature.

"Ah, yes! I know how to be fixings your problems!" Drawing his needler pistol, the good doctor loads it with a mk 1 serum of healing and fires it point-blank at the creature's chest with entirely too much gusto.

With the combined efforts of Pangea-Kappa, Fixit, Poppilo, and Vlodkoya, (presumably with the help of Basalt and Donovan as well) the crew is able to maneuver most of the stones off of the prone body. However, as Donovan moves one of the stones away, a thin sliver breaks off and falls towards one of the natives' wings. Due to the low gravity, someone is easily able to snatch it out of the air before it can do any damage to the thin membrane.

Pulling itself up to a sitting position (with plenty of help), a look of shock verging into panic crosses the face of the natives' as Vlodkoya aims his pistol at their chest and fires. The panic slowly turns into confusion, as their head lowers to look at their wounds healing at an accelerated rate across their body. As they raise their head back up and look around the group before them, you can see gratitude and relief as they lean against the back wall.

Slowly pulling themselves up to a standing position, Ninrak steadies themself against the nearby wall before looking to Donovan. "Th... thank you for rescuing me and healing my wounds. I had been out here for several days watching over the ruins where we believed an exiled member of our kind to be. However, failing to catch any sight of any outside movement, I began preparing to return late yesterday. A few hours later, the melting storm began, trapping me here. I am grateful that you saved me, as I doubt I would have lated much longer." Moving to the side, they pull out a satchel from a small pile of stones. "To thank you for saving me, here are some items that you may find useful."

Inside of the satchel is a trailblazer fusion seal (4th level), a mk 1 ring of resistance, and a stash of gemstones worth 1600 credits.

Heading towards one of the gaping holes in the side of the dome, Ninrak says to you "It is good to know that you are planning to investigate these ruins, as I am now able to return to my village. The outer edges of the storm should be fading soon, but the center will remain strong for a while longer. From what I can tell, the ruins the Exile is in appear to be located in the eye of the storm, so you should be safe-ish around them. Goodbye! I hope that you don't die." Just before they begin to leave, they turn back to you and say "I must say, I am surprised to hear you talk normal words. It made everything much easier."
