Sleeping Sword

I haven't run the numbers precisely, but I'm pretty sure Sleeping Sword can manage it. My light load limit is 86lbs and I don't have any armour or large weapons.
Lynn Kuro

Lynn's sort of a packmule, and won't be slowed down by an extra 26 pounds of gear, and i wrote her in the post trying to help take the weight off your hands. She doesn't need to be in the mix of combat so it works well too.

I'm going on a trip! I'll be visiting Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand from tomorrow to the 6th, I'll have wifi and my laptop, but I don't know how much time I'll have to post, so feel free to bot me as needed and apologies if my posting rate is dismal!

Tis the season. Have fun.

1500 miles to my destination this year, driving the entire way, so im gonna be indisposed for today, most of tomorrow and the day before new years as i drive back. Sorry for the late notice work ran me rabid the last few days.

I made it, time for coma
Yay coma!

Hello GM, I know that part of the challenge in this scenario is how we cope with the sleeping Pathfinder but can we somehow speed this up in PbP?
Can we assume that all who can participate auto-aid with take 10 and Sleeping Sword rolls? :-)
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Well folks could post more regularly thereby speeding up play (nudge, nudge, wink, wink ;)). Or more people could provide aid in the attempts to corral Kalkamedes (possibly dragging him out of harm's way sooner). Still it has proven possible to fail in dragging him even when a number of people do help and given the danger and the fact he actively battles your efforts to pin him down there isn't a legal way to take 10 in the circumstances. Besides someone might want to just color spray him or something.
Oh, and yay coma! (I suppose it is kinda a running (or walking) theme.)

Understood GM.
I unfortunately have problems with the map. I have google slides and use it often but somehow the current map cannot be manipulated from my phone. :-(
It would be great if you could move me please.
Thanks!
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
No problem. Maybe try reloading the app. Is anyone else having editing issues?
Map updated to reflect the current march northward.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Make sure you actually have the Google Slides app on the phone. Often times a phone will be able to open file, but not give you any of functionality even if you don't have the app.
Lynn Kuro
|
Yeah so... messing eith it on phone i can move my icon once, after that it just keeps wanting to grab the map and slide it so im not gonna mess with that. However i can still say where im moving from my position if someone is willing to move my token for a few more days.
Almaas Kargar
|
Same for me. I deleted and reinstalled the google slides map.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Yeah usually you have to deselect the item/exit out of the whole 'I'm moving stuff' mode when you are done by hitting the X (I think, admittedly it has been a while). I find Slides to be hard to use on a phone. Being old (and the fact I am still using a rotary--psych! ;)) I have a desktop (2 actually!) that I use for updating maps except when I have to. But for some players the phone is their only option and so--Google Slides.

Ok folks gonna be making the 21 hour drive in the opposite direction tonight, so expect some radio silence till i arrive home.

Happy New Year! It seems like only a year ago that the party began its fateful march. ;)

There are a lot of ways this encounter might be solved, but one possibility includes ildway empathyyay. ;)

With my know:nature roll could i ask what the cub and mother's will save is?

With my know:nature roll could i ask what the cub and mother's will save is?
You can look at the info in the "animal" link and see what their good saves are.
Sleeping Sword
|
If you're thinking of using the Bardic Fascinate performance here Lynn, that looks like a good option to me. Might allow everyone to just march quietly past the bears, if it works :)
Lynn Kuro
|
Fascinate wouldnt allow us to pass, though it would make it more susceptible to changing it's feelings towards us, but i dont have any abilities to influence the attitude of animals.
Best i could do by myself is lullaby and fascinate... but i'm certain 'I' cant get us past the bears with my abilities alone. *cough*
Sleeping Sword
|
I think Fascinate should let everyone pass safely - a fascinated creature does nothing but watch and listen to the bard, so long as nobody threatens the creature. If all we do is walk by, with no weapons drawn, the Fascinate effect should not be broken. Even K's sleepwalking shouldn't present a threat to the animals. Lynn could walk past too, since maintaining Fascinate is a free action
GM's advice?
Lynn Kuro
|
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I was more thinking to give some of the other stars some time to shine. I'll use fascinate if i must, but our half druid could do some neat RP along with a class feature to calm the bears. *finger flintlocks(guns)*
Lynn Kuro
|
Well let's hope no one goes aggressive, cause it seems we've run out of talk time. Time for plan the stars didn't shine and we need a voice(i'm bad at naming plans don't let me do it please)
Kala, daughter of Krokum
|
Well, I tried. But Kala usually prefers to hunt animals, so Wild Empathy isn't usually her thing. That, and having no Charisma modifier makes it a tough roll for her.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Whew. For a second there I thought it was going to be one of those dog and bear incidents.
Lynn Kuro
|
Wanted to at least give her the chance, Fascinate was always a fallback. But a 19 is a good roll plus your bonus's

Hello!
Sorry for the lack of posts! My trip turned into a busier affair than I thought and my plan to update all my games on an alternating day basis fell to pieces. I'm catching back up now and will be getting post in soon and should be able to keep pace now!
It would take some time to forage for, find, and shape the necessary parts to build a block and tackle device (does anyone just have one?)
And reading through the game I ran into a part I wish I had been paying attention to! Angela has that halfling feat that allows her to try a sleight of hand check to potientally have just the thing for the job, and this is possibly something she could have just happened to have... Oh well, Next time.
Sleeping Sword
|
Kala, it looks like you've run out of Animal Focus: have you been reducing your minutes available when you've activated it for Stinky? Hunter pets get 'free' animal focus and you only reduce your minutes / day count when you activate a focus ability for yourself. You can also change yours and Stinky's focus with a single swift action.
I run a couple of hunters, I think it's a great class.
Kala, daughter of Krokum
|
Thanks for the reminder, Sleeping Sword. :)
If you recall, Kala had activated Animal Focus for herself when they were crossing the water. I figure that took some time, especially since she rolled so badly. Also, I forgot to indicate that/when she deactivated it afterwards, so it looks like it's all used up for her unless our GM rules otherwise. Chalking it up to a learning experience seems like a reasonable strategy at this point.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
It really wouldn't take more than a minute's worth of Kala's time (10 whole rounds) to figure out that she couldn't swim easily across the flooded field, so feel free to take some of that time back.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Now might be a good time for a plan.
And this might be the place to plan it in.
Sleeping Sword
|
I think you're right GM!
We have very low damage output. I think we'll need to coordinate attacks.
Some suggestions:
Rhinshin flanks with Sleeping Sword against Blue
Lynn uses one of her 'go away' spells against Blue, sending him towards the two x-bowmen, triggering AoOs from Sleeping Sword, Rhinshin, Stinky and Angela.
Then, Almaas and Angela try to finish off Black.
Then, Kala and Stinky attack whichever enemies are still adjacent/available.
Just my 2cp.
Lynn Kuro
|
Has kalk still got light on him? also Go away spells? *flips through sheet* Uh.. i've got something.. kinda like that but not really a go away spell so much as a Go love on your buddy, spell XD
Sleeping Sword
|
Yup, K is still radiating light (yellow circle on map I think).
You could try the lust spell or the 'stay next to someone else' (Reckless Infatuation) spell I think Lynn, but after Rhinshin goes for a flanking attack.
By the way, GM, I'm loving the hoodlums dialogue! I am not loving their hot dice :o
Lynn Kuro
|
Yeah that's the one i was thinking, either that or blasting one's face open, but *shrug* I didn't see the roll that caused the miss unless it was one of the d2's in which case *facepalm*
Almaas Kargar
|
Ha ha! Dialogue is great!!
Almaas Kargar
|
GM, as indicated by Sleeping Sword I forgot to add +2 to hit and +1 to damage for Almaas’ attacks.
Would the first attack hitting AC 16 for 10’damage drop the black thug?
And the black thug would also have also taken 1 more damage from the second hit so 8 damage. ;-)
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
No, because while "black" is in the forest behind a tree he has concealment and partial cover. Which reminds me....
Almaas 20% miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 83
Cool nothing changes (aside from +1 damage (-17 hp)--I forgot Point Blank Shot's damage bonus).
Lynn Kuro
|
Thinking about it i could also try keeping Kalk with us so we don't have to fight against him or worry about him getting mowed down by AoO's
Also Unnatural lust gives a +4 to save if they wouldn't be attracted to eachother under normal circumstances :/
Lynn Kuro
|
GM as per the spell unnatural lust i don't believe the guy will be able to take half speed or use acrobatics to avoid AoO's cause it says
"The target is filled with the compulsion to rush to the subject of its lust and passionately kiss or caress that subject on its next turn, taking no other actions."
I feel rush implies he can't move slowly or carefully.
