The latter kobold moves toward Cabe and stabs with his spear.

Force damage vs. Orange: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The force bolt punches into the kobold and he falls back to the ground, unconscious.

Stepping swiftly from the running water to the drier bank, Yuzu's blade twirls back toward the kobold she feinted against earlier.

I need a Fort Save from Cabe.
After some brief exploration you begin to hear the faint sounds of combat and a familiar woman’s voice half-shouting and half-reciting, “As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!”

umm...do you have any way to re-roll that? I have a character folio and a Year of the Sky Key shirt. Too bad we aren't face-to-face or I would have loaned you my folio before the game started.

Take 1 CON damage and roll another save, please. Once I have 3 votes to follow the voice or go back into the caverns we can progress.

Hooboy.

![]() |

Voice, I suppose.
Cabe rips a dart out of his arm, where it dug in deep to his flesh. His stomach clenches alarmingly, and he begins sweating. "I... do not feel well." He looks down at the dart as realization dawns on him.
Oh, gods.

![]() |

Hooboy.
Another Con damage, please. Go ahead and give me 2 more saves.
The inspiring boost you get from what you now recognize as Janira’s voice seems to peter out as you reach the end of the tunnel as if she had run out of inspiration. As you emerge, the dim light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, the light of the full moon illuminating a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy. The moon is bright enough to illuminate even the shaded leaf litter beneath the trees. The ambient light in this area is low-light. Those of you without low-light vision or darkvision, please include a d100 roll with your attack rolls for the concealment provided by the lack of light; 1-20 misses, 21+ hits.
Some notes on terrain: The green areas on the map are underbrush, which acts as difficult terrain. The trees are only a few decades old and do not completely occupy their respective squares; a creature that shares a space with one or more trees benefits from partial cover. The stream is about 10 feet wide and 5 feet deep in this area, and the water moves downstream from east to west (top to bottom on the map). The water looks like it is moving swiftly; treat it as rough water, requiring a DC 15 swim check to cross. A 3-foot-diameter tree trunk spans the width of the river, creating an impromptu bridge, though it looks slippery and difficult to cross. The slope to the west gradually rises to a height of 20 feet, and creatures standing at its highest point benefit from both a commanding view of the battlefield and a clear vantage point for ranged attacks.
“You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!”
Janira looks exhausted and badly wounded, though the Minotaur also bears some wounds and its large battle ax seems broken.

Yuzu's eyes narrow as she takes off at a run, blade passing through the grass as she forces her way through the underbrush, shouting a challenge as she goes.
"Hear me, minotaur! You meet your end at my blade; come and taste my steel!"
Swift Action to Challenge: Yuzu gains DR 1/- and deals 1 extra damage to the minotaur.
As she reaches the tree, she tosses her naginata aside, hand gripping the hilt of her katana.

![]() |

The minotaur scoffs at the approaching fox-figure. It turns its attention back to Janira and hopes to deliver the killing blow.

Stomach still clenched, Cabe feels a thickness in his throat and coughs heavily into his hand, wiping it absently on his coat and leaving a smear of dark blood across the front. He feels a little light-headed for a moment, until the halfling's call snaps him out of it. He grits his teeth, draws his blade, and rushes out of the cave to help Janira.
Once outside, he strides forward purposefully, blade down and at his side as he rushes forward.
Double move.

![]() |

Yuzu deftly moves forward, emerging from the underbrush and crossing the bridge with... likely not much trouble.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Her lips tighten back to show her snarling teeth as her furred digits tighten on her blade.
Hoping I can get an Iaijutsu strike in before I get gored :D

![]() |

Acro 13 is just fine. Remember it is half speed to cross the log.

![]() |

Was Suna and Kzrezh skipped last round?
I am waiting for their turns now.

![]() |

I PM'd Kzrezh. Will bot for the second time and consider a drop if we don't hear back.
Kzrezh moves toward the fray. Janira steps back and hurls a tanglefoot bag at the beast.
TF bag, IC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Barely landing but sticking up the minotaur just the same.
reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
The minotaur is quick to not be fully entangled but will be slowed if it tries to move.
The minotaur takes advantage of Janira standing still and takes an attack.

Cabe leaps over the stream...
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
... but misjudges the distance and lands in the rushing waters.
Swim: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
He scrambles quickly to the opposite bank and climbs up from the water, shaking water off as he does so. As he wipes the water from his eyes, he watches in horror as the minotaur guts the poor woman with a brutal swing of his axe. Furious, he points forward with his dueling sword. "That will cost you, beast."

![]() |

On my tablet for a while. Please move me to 1 square North of the log(double move due to difficult terrain).

![]() |

Moved you :)

![]() |

No problem!
GM, I assumed by falling in the water and having to swim that used up my round. Was I correct, or do I have a standard action left?

![]() |

You assume correctly. You move a quarter of your speed when swimming as a move action.

![]() |

Yuzu cries out in shock as the halfling is torn asunder. Realizing now how serious this got, she draws the potion of barkskin that she took from Janira's pack before stepping forward, one hand still on her katana's hilt. She readies herself to dance around the enormous axe, if she must.
Total Defense: +4 to AC. Potion is in-hand, undrunk at present.

![]() |

I do not believe it makes a difference for Janira, but you neglected the -2 to hit from being entangled. Entangled also imposes a -4 penalty to Dexterity (so -2 to AC and Reflex saves).
"Whra! No!" Mapache shrieks as he emerges from the brush to find the halfling cut down. He whips his sling around, sending an iron sphere toward the murderous beast.
Sling, FE: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16 +1 more for Inspiring Courage = 17
B, cold iron, FE: 1d4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8 +1 more for Inspiring Courage = 9

Ah it saved but that doesn't negate the entamgling effect. it only saves from glue. still not enough to save Janira.
Janira's Inspire courage lasts for 2 more rounds from lingering performance.

Got it. I'll bot you this round so we have an open turn for the group and we'll just take it easy the next 2 days.
Suna and Sita move toward the fray.

Yuzu's eyes practically flash as the minotaur closes the gap, and she ducks forward under the axe, slipping to the side as it comes toward her again. She drops the potion at her feet, putting both hands on her weapon, and in a flash, her blade is high in the air,
Iaijutsu Strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Iaijutsu Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + (2) + 1 = 14
blood probably spraying high with the arc of her blade.
"Finish him off now, or I may not live much longer. Please please please please... please."
Yuzu's effective AC vs. the minotaur is currently 15. DR1 remains in place.

"Now I recognize you! Didn't I milk your mother the other night" , says Salvadore as he raises his hand and launches a force missile at the Minotaur...
Force damage vs. Minotaur: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
If Bardic Inspiration applies, please add the +1

![]() |

IC is for weapon attack and damage rolls, Salvadore. FYI.

![]() |

Cabe takes a step forward, channeling power into his blade, and proceeds to unleash all the fury he can muster.
5ft step, then swift action to enhance dueling sword, then Spell Combat. Taking a -2 to attacks for a +2 to concentration checks. Casting magic missile.
Concentration: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Attack w/Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 4
Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4
Figures. I have literally NEVER had spell combat work.

![]() |

Maybe? I guess it depends on whether you can do a 5ft step during a full attack action. If so, then yes. Something to keep in mind for next time, if that's the case.
