Untrained Knowledge check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Cabe studies the diorama thoroughly. "Fascinating," he says quietly. "It is an older model of Absalom, but Absalom nonetheless. Look here," he points, "clearly the Starstone cathedral. Amazing."

Yuzu's eyebrows lift at the model of the city as she peers around Cabe's side. "A city in cave stone; Miniature Absalom. Very impressive."
Turning her attention back to the gillman, she offers a smile. "This cloak that we found; it belongs to your people? May I offer it?"
GM Weenerton
|
Uori smiles, That is too kind. I am no longer in need of it. You may keep it. You seem like kind and respectful travelers. Feel free to explore or to perform whatever rites you would like in this holy place. Be wary, though, if you plan to explore deeper down these paths. Other creatures you find in these caves may not be so welcoming.
GM Weenerton
|
Uori shrugs, the denizens of this cave change over time. Off that way is the smell of death, however.
Yuzu Fokkusupō
|
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Yuzu sniffs, but even with her foxlike nose, she has a little trouble pinpointing the direction.
"Two paths before us, one reeks of mortal danger. The other is safe?" She ponders a moment, then shrugs. "What is our duty? To explore all directions, or document one?"
Khrezh
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Khrezh wrinkles his nose in disgust. "Ugh, that tunnel to the right stinks. Let's go left, it's nice and cool down that way. Maybe we'll get lucky and find what we're here for without having to go to the stinky place?"
Salvadore Mattero
|
"Uori, why do your people come here every full moon?"
Salvadore looks at Yuzu, "If I remember correctly, our mission was to explore the cave and find out why the Gillmen come here."
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
"I think we should find out what is causing that stench, at least for our new friend's sake."
Yuzu Fokkusupō
|
"But dear Salvadore, 'Pathfinders follow orders,' if I do recall? Or are you saying Pathfinders are heroes too, when circumstance calls?" she asks, a mischievous twinkle in her eye as she parrots his prior words to him.
GM Weenerton
|
Uori responds to Salvadore, This is a pilgrimage most gillman take at some point in their lives, to come at night and listen to these waters.
Caebricalius Melandrus
|
Cabe's brow furrows at the gillman's words. "Rites?" he mutters. Looking around the diorama, he continues mumbling, "Soldier, soldier... Light in dark places."
He glances at the torches in the wall at the other side of the cave, then back at the diorama.
Is there a sconce anywhere on the diorama, to place a torch?
GM Weenerton
|
No proper sconce. You could wedge it between some buildings.
Caebricalius Melandrus
|
Brow still furrowed, Cabe grabs a torch from the wall and brings it over to the diorama. After some muttering, he sticks the torch between a pair of buildings and waits to see if anything happens.

Completing this ritual grants each PC a +1 insight bonus to AC if she has taken damage since the start of her last turn.
Suna Ellia

Suna and Sita, receiving no answer from the gillman, move forward respectfully and stand with their ankles in the water and sigh in pleasure. They watch curiously what Cabe does, and their eyes open wide in surprise as they feel a wave of something in consequence.

Khrezh
|
Krezh shrugs as Cabe moves the torch, not understanding what's going on. He shivers slightly as the strange feeling washes over him and looks around to see what's causing it. "What was that? Is the air from that tunnel getting colder? I think we should go check out the cave down that way."
He begins heading toward the tunnel that heads to the left, pausing at the entrance and waiting for the others to finish playing with torches and tiny buildings.
Caebricalius Melandrus
|
Despite his earlier words, Cabe stands for a moment in silence. Not in reverence, exactly, but perhaps a mutual understanding. He has no use for knights or codes, but the soldier's duty is something with which he's extensively familiar.
Eventually, he bows his head slightly to the diorama and heads to the cave entrance to wait with Krezh.
Yuzu Fokkusupō
|
Yuzu unwinds her scarf from her chakram and replaces it at her hip.
"We should not linger; if we are finished with this, we might move on now." Her blade spins from its perch across her back as she joins Krezh at the tunnel entrance.

The little plant people reach down and each take a handful of water which they pour over their heads. They seem to green up slightly. Then they move out of the water and follow their new friends.
Caebricalius Melandrus

"Perhaps we can return, if there's time," Cabe says in response to Mapache, "but we are also to explore the entirety of the cave, if I'm not mistaken. Besides, if there's something dangerous taking residence here, I'd like to remove it for the gillmen. It's not exactly out of our way."
GM Weenerton
|
Some good discussion, folks. Didn't want to sway you in any particular way. Let me know if there's a consensus for next steps and I'll take us there.
Caebricalius Melandrus
|
My vote is to start exploring the cave further, though if anyone wants to try and suss out more of the rites first, I'm willing to wait while they do that.

Towards the foul-smelling air. B4, I think?
Yuzu Fokkusupō

Yuzu is but a leaf on the wind. But like, a leaf with a big, sharp stick on it. We’ll go whichever direction the others decide on. True Neutral... aw yeah.
Salvadore Mattero
|
I believe Khrezh and Cabe are near the cold passage already. We might as well start that way first, then double back later.
Has it been 2 hours since the pit? Need to know for Mage Armor
GM Weenerton
|
hi folks, need a little more active decision here. looks like Yuzu and Mapache are good for either. Cabe and Salvadore looks split. Who will break the tie?
Yuzu Fokkusupō
|
Khrezh seems to have voted for "cold air" passage (as opposed to "stinky death" passage) in-character. I'll swing my vote in that direction as well, to tip the scales decisively.

GM: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.
Across the water are 2 lizard looking creatures seemingly caught up in digging around the walls of the cavern. They do not detect your approach.
Tried accommodating on the map as best I could. The party gets a surprise round.

Force Missile (Sp): As a standard action you can unleash a force missile that automatically strikes a foe, as magic missile. The force missile deals 1d4 points of damage plus the damage from your intense spells evocation power. This is a force effect. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.
