Ok then Stauntram so you have no ability to use your chain within 10 ft of you as it is a reach weapon and you're enlarged. I'll assume you 5ft step back so you can hit the one furthest from you through soft cover. And to keep things moving, I'll assume Martel and Fizz step back to give you room.

Kaalul finishes off one elemental while Stauntram nearly kills another in one blow, the cold leaping from his weapon drawing a shriek of fiery agony from the elemental. But his second attack misses. Another fire elemental rushes forward and Stauntram would get to strike it as it moves but the other elementals and Kaalul are in the way.

Soft cover so no AoO. Might want to work on how you guys are positioned here.

GM screen:

Two of the elementals step forward carefully and they both lash out at the dwarves but none are able to strike them. The elemental who rushed forward nearly lands a blow on Kaalul but the dwarf's shield deflects the blow.

Kaalul, remind me what the current effect is that is making your AC 26 instead of 24? Party, GO!

Apologies, that's left over from the water elemental fight when Martel cast augment. What's more, Kaalul's AC is now 1 less due to Martel's bull's strength spell. So it looks like that charge would have hit Kaalul. Would those elementals have been able to position themselves as they are on the map if Kaalul was enlarged? I didn't get a chance to update the map icon last night. Will hold off on attacking until any mix-ups are sorted out.


No worries. I thought it might have been a holdover. In that case, one of them hit you.

Whoa, jeez, I was tired. Kaalul has Bull's Strength, not Enlarge Person. So his AC is 24. Doesn't change the above hit, however.

Burn:

A fire elemental deals fire damage in addition to damage dealt on a successful hit in melee. Those affected by the burn ability must also succeed on a Reflex save or catch fire, taking the listed damage for an additional 1d4 rounds at the start of its turn. A burning creature can attempt a new save as a full-round action. Dropping and rolling on the ground grants a +4 bonus on this save. Creatures that hit a burning creature with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the burning creature and must make a Reflex save to avoid catching on fire. Can you confirm that this is the second round that I'm on fire? Because the last round that I was hit, you specifically said that I did not catch on fire.

Imagining how nice a barrel of cool, refreshing ale would be right now, Kaalul does his best to ignore the pain of his searing flesh and tries to down one of the enemies in front of him.

The remaining elemental strikes at Stauntram but the dwarf's hardened skin denies the flaming fist.

Stauntram's elemental plunges into the wall.

Another elemental rushes to join the fight. It and an ally strike at Kaalul.

While one sweeps his legs, Kaalul leaps over the flaming form nimbly. Another strikes him and the blow is mostly blocked by Kaalul's shield but it still burns him somewhat (2 damage). He manages to shake out his flaming arm quickly before the fire spreads, however.

The earth elemental comes back and speaks in a gravelly voice.

Terran:

"There are fire more coming but they seem to be simply running in one after another. I see no sign of something creating or summoning new elementals."

Though that's a good idea.

Kaalul all but growls in frustration. He didn't like not knowing the source of the current threat.

Remembering his new summoning circlet, Kaalul focuses on it and is pleased to sense a connection to Torag's realm in heaven. He requests the aid of a lantern archon, which appears a moment later and fires two rays of light at the elemental that Kaalul is attacking.

Yes I neglected to post my usual "PCs may go" for some reason but you are indeed up. Martel may still go.

Working together, the dwarves destroy the two fire elementals in front of them, leaving scorch marks all over the stone walls where the exploding cinders struck.

Those who have already gone may feel free to move on the map if they have any movement remaining. 20 ft for K, 5 for S, I believe.

Kaalul advances while Stauntram comes up behind. Then four more fire elementals rush around the corner! They surround Kaalul!

All four lash out with fiery limbs. Kaalul can hardly see for the heated air and smoke in his eyes. He knocks away two blows but two of the elementals strike him (2 and 2 dam). He manages to put out the flames of one but the other catches on his clothing, burning him badly (6 dam). The flames then burn themselves out.

Kaalul, the one that you potentially killed with an AoO missed and his flanking didn't matter. So go ahead and take the AoO but it won't require us to change anything that just happened.

Kaalul proves himself a forgemaster indeed and smashes through another elemental with his hammer, scattering it into flaming coals. The lantern archon fires twice and manages to wound one of the elementals slightly. Stauntram rushes forward eagerly but trips and misses the elemental in front of him (just flavor, not fully prone). Martel enhances Stauntram while Fizz watches and cheers.

The elementals rush to retaliate but rush too much. The dwarves knock aside their fiery blows with cold hard steel, preventing any harm to themselves. Kaalul, however, continues to burn (2 fire dam before resistance).
