Kaalul Bazt |

Well, this has made my day.
Peering over the edge of the cavern and seeing that Gnome is still attached to the rope, Kaalul nods at Stauntrum.
"Haul him up."
Once the oracle has been placed back on solid ground, Kaalul carefully inspects the rope, casting mending liberally wherever he thinks it beneficial. Before Stauntram's next throw, he'll cast guidance on the paladin.
+1 to your next attack or skill roll.

As he is clearly going to miss the orb, Fizz screams out "IF I DIE I WILL HAUNT YOU ALL!"
When he gets hauled back up his face is devoid of expression. He just pokes himself a couple times.
CMW: 2d8 + 6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 + 4 + 3 = 18
CLW: 1d8 + 5 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 + 3 = 12

Kaalul Bazt |

Since Stauntram is offline for a couple days and requested botting, Fizz could make his rolls. I think it's the below roll plus an additional +1.
[dice=STRENGTH] 1d20 +3+2+1

Stauntram Uthuan |

"Mmmph. Must throw harder.", Stauntram mutters as he seizes Fizz once again. He winds his arm back, nearly smacking the gnome's head off the ground, then launches him hard at the orb!
STRENGTH?: 1d20 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24

"GO $&%(@ YURSELVES!!" Fizz screams once more as his body is used as some mix between a discus and a shot-put. Either way, not an intended use for a body.

Elemental Forge GM |

Fizz SOARS through the air straight into the shining blue orb. A crackling, sparking blue shell coats his entire body! He then slams falls and slams down into the wall again.
Fall damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) = 9
It doesn't take long to pull him back up, the gnome still crackling and sparking.
Enough of the orb's energy was transferred to Fizz that touching him immediately can grant the shock power to a weapon or empower lightning spells.

Kaalul Bazt |

"Well done, Stauntram."
Know. (arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
"Gnome, much like the gift from the orb in the earth room, you now harness the power of lightning. It appears that touching you immediately can grant a shock power to a weapon or empower lightning spells."
Kaalul tests this theory out by holding out his warhammer to Fizzbizzner, offering him the opportunity to enhance his weapon.

Fizzbizzner Thistletop |

Fizz pouts with some serious ire, "I'm glad m'life is reduced tuh uh lightnin' rod, %#$@in' anvil heads. " This would be a serious sight if it not for the fact that the build up of electricity from the orb has caused all of Fizz'a hair to stand on end, making him look like some sort of pouting bush of red hair.

Martel Wyvernjack |

"Aww, you're fine!" Martel says, patting the gnome on the back. (Whether to be emotionally supportive or just to pick up the elemental boon is a question for another time.)
Putting it on my weapon

Kaalul Bazt |

So, do we have acid and lighting on the weapons, or did the lightning replace the acid?
"I think we still have the resources to continue. I know that you have used most of your spells, Martel, but you wielded your staff competently this fight.
"I don't see lightning or acid giving us an advantage over fire, but maybe lightning will be more effective against water. That's where I think we should go next."

Stauntram Uthuan |

Stautram claps Fizz on the back.
"Good work.", he grunts in a supportive manner.
"I agree with Kaalul. We should hunt the water."
His chain crackles and shines.

Elemental Forge GM |

The water it is. Bottom slide shows map of the layout to keep us oriented.
The group approaches the passage far to the east and finds that it is full from floor to 50 ft ceiling with water. The boundary between water and air, held there by some invisible force, stands before you as you breathe comfortably in the air of the passage, staring into the water but seeing nothing.

Kaalul Bazt |

Looking inside, can we see the orb? Are these orbs appearing after we defeat the guardians, or are they always there?

Fizzbizzner Thistletop |

Fizzbizzner is much less enthusiastic now, looking at the wall of water warily, "This could go very poorly boyos."

Stauntram Uthuan |

Stauntram distrusts what he sees.
So much so, that he taps the nearest stone.
From it, emerges a small boulder with stumpy limbs and a vague face.
"My companion, ready to smash the foe.", he says simply.
At 5th level, a stonelord may call a Small earth elemental to her side, as a paladin calls her mount. This earth elemental is Lawful Good in alignment and possesses the celestial template, and it increases in size as the stonelord gains levels, becoming Medium at 8th level, Large at 11th level, Huge at 14th level, Greater at 17th level, and Elder at 20th level.

Martel Wyvernjack |

"I actually have a water breathing spell, but I can only cast it twice." Martel informs the party. "Luring them out into the hallway would work best for us, I think."

Fizzbizzner Thistletop |

Fizz scrunches his face in displeasure. "Fine!" he shouts as he then pokes Kaluul and Stauntram. Cast Shield Other on each of them. "Don't get too far away from me! And try not t'get bludgeoned too hard.." He whines a little bit at the end.
Muahaha!!GAME ON!!

Kaalul Bazt |

"I actually have a water breathing spell, but I can only cast it twice." Martel informs the party. "Luring them out into the hallway would work best for us, I think."
I just read the spell description for aboleths lung. You can cast it on all of us and divide the duration evenly. Also, we can no longer breathe air, so you'll have to spend an action to dismiss it if we move back out of the water.
Kaalul nods in appreciation of Martel's preparation.
"Cast it on Gnome so that he can go in and draw the water elementals out."
Looking askance at his warhammer, he says, "Underwater is not the best environment for fighting. Perhaps we should try to lure the elementals back here so that we can fight on land."

Stauntram Uthuan |

"I can beat the water with my weapon at a distance.", offers Stauntram.

Martel Wyvernjack |

Ah, yet another spell that's new to me. To retcon what I said earlier:
"I have a waterbreathing spell, but you can't breathe air while it's active. I'll have to dismiss it when we want to come out." After hearing others' comments about fighting, "Ah, true, it will be more difficult to swing a weapon in the water. Especially ones as hefty as yours."

Kaalul Bazt |

Stauntram distrusts what he sees.
So much so, that he taps the nearest stone.
From it, emerges a small boulder with stumpy limbs and a vague face.
"My companion, ready to smash the foe.", he says simply.
Kaalul looks at the stone servant, the gears obviously turning in hid dwarven skull.
"Does he need to breathe?" he asks Stauntram.

Stauntram Uthuan |

"He sees nothing but water and pillars of stone supporting the roof."

Kaalul Bazt |

"Looks like we have to go in, then." Kaalul stows his hammer and pulls out a mean looking sickle. He twists his lips wryly at it before shrugging and putting it where the hammer was at his belt. He then pulls out a potion of bull's strength, ready to down it when they see the enemy. He looks at the others.
Ready to go in when the others are.

Kaalul Bazt |

Know. (planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Martel Wyvernjack |

With the way Aboleth’s Lung works(you now breathe water and not air), if someone wants to stay out, I can exclude them from the spell, but I’d have to cast it again just for them if they wanted to dive in later.

Kaalul Bazt |

I think everyone is on board with that plan.

Kaalul, Martel, and Stauntram begin wading through the wall of water, suddenly able to breathe again. The water flows cool and refreshing into them. It is an odd experience that is rather mesmerizing. You see ancient stone pillars supporting the roof and a wall of air into the passage on the other side of this sub-cavern. Stauntram and Martel become quite wrapped up in the experience while Kaalul keeps a wary watch. It is very dark and Martel cannot see well in the water (no darkvision and no specified illumination). Kaalul spots some of the water that seems to move coherently. Surely it could not be a water creature for it is far too large. But the wary dwarf reacts quickly to the massive threat.
It is a greater water elemental. It seems to have some sort of gold circlet bound about its watery head which may grant it an additional power. You have no idea what without a divination spell or a chance to see it in use.
Kaalul is the only one who isn't surprised and he won init. GO!

"Standard water elemental," Kaalul shouts, knowing his voice is muffled underwater. He indicates the gold circlet sitting on the elemental's "head" 30 feet above them. "Very large."
Kaalul drinks the potion of bull's strength in his hand, discards the empty vial, and draws his warhammer.
That's all of my actions for the round.

Elemental Forge GM |

Sorry I didn't make it clearer but this is a surprise round so you get a standard or a move but not both. We'll say the warhammer isn't drawn yet.
The water elemental rushes forward to Kaalul while its circlet glows.

Kaalul Bazt |

Sorry I didn't make it clearer but this is a surprise round so you get a standard or a move but not both. We'll say the warhammer isn't drawn yet.
No, that should have been obvious. I wasn't thinking.
Taking a quick 5-foot step away from the shark, Kaal focuses his attention on the hostile water elemental and swings his hammer.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 - 2 = 27

Martel Wyvernjack |

Martel hides behind Stauntram from the shark, his touch causing the dwarf’s muscles to bulge. 5’ step SE. Using Augment to give +2 strength for 3 rounds

Elemental Forge GM |

I should have also clarified this but the water is difficult terrain if you don't have a swim speed. Walking through water definitely slows a person down.
The shark and elemental attack fiercely! Massive wave-like arms strike Kaalul twice (38 damage) while the shark is deflected by the sturdy Stauntram.
