I think we just hand them to Martella, no? she's the spymaster... we're just the goons/minions!
Sveng
I mean acquiring them. We have to steal them from a prominent display without being caught. This normally requires a sleight of hand check, but since nobody has that skill trained (and it's a trained-only skill) it is impossible to achieve this mission conventionally. We have to do something more creative.
I've suggested using smoke bombs as distraction/concealment, and using disguises so that if anybody sees us they won't connect it to us, and hopefully the person/people can steal the artifacts and stow them away somewhere safe before escaping and dropping their disguises in order to return to the senate.
That's my idea, but I'm definitely open to others.
Piri Erudishen
I'm okay with Sveng's plan. I think I should still take the curator out with me on a tour to lessen the opportunity of capture. I don't disguise well. Since there are three artifacts? to be taken, we may need multiple disguisees at the same time. I'm not sure of the result of Piri's search for alternate exits, maybe there is one here in the gallery.
Hargus Kryn
There are 5 artifacts, actually. The only problem with using smoke bombs as concealment is that we can't see, either. Plus, outside of changing between social identity and vigilante identity, I'm bound by the same rules for creating a disguise as others.
Going this route for the Theft mission, I think, would require this:
1) Valeria and I take 1 - 2 Social Rounds to create Disguises for ourselves.
2) Once we've finished that, Piri takes the curator up on the offer of a tour, and distracts them while Sydney, Sveng, and Hazel use smoke bombs to distract the people in the Arcade.
3) Valeria and I each grab an item and try to hide and escape. We'll probably need an office to change in, too.
Best case scenario, we grab 2 items and escape. Worst case scenario, we get caught.
GM, are there any penalties if we DON'T complete one of the missions?
Sveng
Basically I'm suggestion more of a "smash and grab" for the artifacts rather than a sneaky theft. The only complication is making sure it doesn't come back to us.
Valeria Tanessen
Valeria would be against a smash and grab operation, so don't ask her, and she's also somewhat against the theft mission as a whole, finding Martella's motives a bit too dirty in regards to this one. She similarly finds the wine mission distasteful, but kinda funny. The arcade theft though: not funny, and she'd be more than fine apologizing to Martella for their failure on that one, intentional or otherwise. :)
GM Dak
Also, as noted above, you don't have to complete every mission. The intent is to have at least one mission complete per party member, so you could do without completing one of the missions. The theft mission is really meant as a buffer of sorts, if there is another mission you can't complete.
Sveng
Mhmm, perhaps it would be reasonable to not go for such a high-profile job since we're bad at it than. Explain that the risk/reward wasn't worth the chance. Thoughts?
Sveng
Perhaps...
How about this idea: Sveng finds Lady Trant in a secluded spot and uses sow thought to get her to do the mission for us? She's already a bit of a rabble rouser, it might not be very hard to convince her to do something with a little magical aid.
Valeria Tanessen
Bad idea... bad idea... let it go... let it goooooo!!! :)
(i.e. this will be, I believe, a campaign that does not have only one good answer to every problem, and thus, compromise will be required at times methinks)
Eregos Villarius
I'm in favor of skipping the Theft mission entirely. Sure, Eregos is a gambler, drunk, and forger, but he's not a thief, and it isn't something he's any good at. Let's focus on finishing off the Fraud, Spy, and Aid missions.
Maj. Fothergilla
There’s still a few areas (Valeria has the courtyard well in hand, but I don’t believe the gallery or servant’s area have been completed) and NPCs that could be influenced (Pythareus, Eutropia, and Morilla)
Sveng
Ah so we have the forgery ready but aren't sure what to do with it yet? That is certainly something I can help with.
Paper and pen in hand, Hargus carefully sits, focuses, then forges a letter to Countess Pace, implying that a vote against Princess Eutropia could result in great financial and social benefit to her and her family. He left the note unsigned, but made the writer appear to have a military background - perhaps enough to hint at a connection to Pythareus.
GM Dak, have we met anybody yet in the Senate that could be characterized as an 'insufferable gossip'? I can spread the rumors myself and drop the evidence somewhere (or perhaps use sow thought on a servant, man I want to use that spell!), but ideally there can be a degree of separation between the forgery and us.
Piri Erudishen
I thought the only thing necessary in the servant's area was the sabotage mission which was completed. I don't think we need to influence the area--they don't get to vote. If I'm wrong I will go back there and astonish them with my knowledge of their wines and liquors.

As I'm sure you all are aware, the holiday's are quickly approaching. The holiday season generally brings a bit of slowness with posting from people as they travel and take time to themselves or with family. I will be around, with the possible exception of Christmas day, so as long as people are posting I will do the same, but if you plan to be away then I hope you enjoy your holiday.
If you do plan to be away, please let me know so that if needed I can bot you accordingly.
We've been doing pretty good with the pace, but after the new year, I would like us all to do our best to re-commit to the minimum once per day posting so we can keep things moving strong!
Piri Erudishen
With the exception of Christmas day and maybe not even then, I should be available for posting at least once or twice a day, and will continue through the new year. Only when I'm out of town do I have issues, I have a few days in January, but I think I will still be able to post.
Valeria Tanessen
I'm ok posting every day during the holidays.
Sveng
Happy New Year everybody!
The holidays have been particularly hectic for me, as I've just moved 13 hours across the country. We're still working on getting everything moved in so my posting won't be back to to normal for a little bit yet. Please GMPC me as needed!

Appreciate the level summaries! For those still to level, don't forget to update your quick access stats that appear by your portrait. Also, Piri if you wouldn't mind including your full statblock for easy reference in Piri's profile that would be great.

I won't be able to do this until later today. Apologies...
