I've actually tried linking Myth-Weavers forums here before, but I believe they are marked private. (at least the ones I've tried linking) so I'm not exactly sure how to share it, much less if people here would be interested.

It was also a backstory for what was going to be a Ruins of Azlant game that couldn't quite get off the ground due to the groups crazy schedules. I will say I like the pretty seamless transition to Plunder and Peril though!

Speaking of which, I still need to finish my stuff for the GM:

Character notes: Coatl's shapeshifting lasts twice as long as normal thanks to a PFS trait, but I can still only do it once per day. Coatl is a front-liner mostly, so there really isn't a whole lot that is unique about him that might catch you off guard. Patzmiqui, as a constrictor snake, gets an automatic grab attempt on each successful melee attack. He also has the constrict ability, which means he gets to deal bludgeoning damage with each successful grapple check.

If Coatl does any spell casting, it is probably much better served as support role casting - If anyone has requests or ideas how best to utilize that, please don't hesitate to mention it. Coatl is more of a front-liner than a caster, but he still has that utility.

This is also my first time playing a druid in... well ever. I'm really looking forward to it!

GM - I'm going to take this upcoming encounter to take advantage of a druid ability I've always wanted the chance to play.

Here is my plan. Track the river drakes in human form until we get close. Then Wild Shape into a Jaguar. Coatl has a trait that doubles his time available in his wild shape, so he is good for 8 hours.

In Jaguar form, Coatl's stealth is +15 (assuming there is undergrowth, trees, grasses, etc.)

One last thing that I would plan to do once we got close is cast beastspeak which just allows me to talk in animal form. It only lasts for 40 minutes, so I would try to make sure I cast it when we were getting close, so it would ideally be active for the encounter.

Here is to hoping this wild shape thing is worth it! :)

If you want to do this I have some Silence Dust, that gives a +5 circumstance to stealth when moving for 1 minute that you can use.

Sorry it didn't work out Wenton! Lemme just say though that I really appreciate your honesty to be right up front about it. I wish more people who run into a situation like yours would handle it this way. Makes it so much easier for the whole group, especially the GM. Kudos to you!

On another note - Hope you guys enjoy Coatl and Ortun's little back and forth. Ortun and I met on the PbP boards some 5ish years ago, and we have done this little thing in our group a handful of times. They are a blast to write - basically we worked out our posts on a google doc ahead of time, then just blasted the thread all at once. It can be a super fun way to tell a little RP story, or just have some fun character interaction without taking a bunch of real time up in the game.

If anyone in this group is interested in doing something like this, drop either one of us a line! It's a super great way to dig in and reveal some of your character's backstory.

I'm not sure anyone would care enough to want to read other ones we have done, but if for some reason your interest is peaked, let me know and I will link some for other characters for you.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other about a 6th player. If you manage to recruit a player as strong as this group, I am sure we would have a blast. One less person also means potentially streamlining posting rates, which wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

So, heads up for something that will be happening through part 2 and 3!

You might have seen my joke about "x will remember this..." but this is an actual mechanical aspect! All the named crew members have likes, dislikes, favorite things, ect. As you preform deeds or do certain actions, you will influence the attitude of different members of the crew! I won't say if something is positive, or negative, or how it will affect their decisions later, but I will be listing a running total in the campaign tab of things that you do that affect their opinion of the overall team!

Remember, this isn't a video game! You never know 100% how your actions will impact someone's opinion of you, and making friends with everyone is unlikely, and possibly undesirable anyways! I'll add their description and their jobs as you meet them.

Ortun, I currently have one fully charged wand of CLW, one mostly charged, and a wand of Ant Haul. I also have 3 potions (in potion sponges) of Touch of the Sea (bought for personal use, but can definitely be shared if the situation arises), on top of having it as one of my daily prepared spells. I am not sure of anything else we might want as a group, if you have suggestions I have some gold to spare to chip in.

All: Just a heads up, as far as making friends with the crew, Socraties won't be doing anything to sabotage that, but he is also very much just here for the gold and while he is happy to make pleasantries and play nice, his interest in the crew will extend only as far as what they can teach him, otherwise he would rather be by himself tinkering with his alchemy.

It wouldn't hurt in case of emergency. I intend to use my wild shape ability to help with that for the most part.
