Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Having not yet adopted her battle stance, Helena doesn't have a clear idea where the target is exactly.
She fails to get out of the way of the pyramid and takes full damage.

Reflex save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Guess I should have used prescience last round. I am at 0 hp and disabled.
Prescience Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Badly battered by the pyramid, Byron limps to the back of the party and prays that it can't do that again.
Move action only, still at 0 hp

![]() |

Well, if this thing chooses to trample again, and there is no reason to assume it won't, it is almost certainly going to kill our wizard. I have exactly one thing I can do to prevent this, but it is highly unlikely to succeed. But, I guess it is the ONLY option, so . . .
Katsu enters blinded blade style and is just able to barely sense the pyramid at the end of his blindsight.
Katsu will move up to the pyramid and move around it, provoking an attack of opportunity on purpose
He rushes to the creature and attempts a grapple check to prevent it from moving.
This provokes an attack of oppertunity, if it has combat reflexes.
Grapple check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
I suggest Gaellin reposition Myc as to give him enough movement to get up here to hold this thing.

Helena adopts a combat posture similar to Katsu's. Spending a swift action to enter Blinded Blade Style.
She then moves 20 ft back towards Byron.
Byron, where are you? It seems our comrades will keep the thing at bay." As Helena gets within 10 ft. of Byron, "ah, there you are, I cannot quite get to you in my armor, but I am ready to grant you the healing energy of the Cardinal Martyr when you are in my reach."
Helena ready's an action to cast cure light wounds when Byron is within reach.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Prescience dice: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Byron darts forward, calling out to Helena. After she heals him he moves further away from the pyramid, hoping to get out of its range.
Thanks, Helena!
Double Move action 5' up to Helena, then 50' the other direction. Free action to activate Prescience.

Sensing that Myc is in a flanking position, Katsu wonders if this will be effective against the pyramid. As a swift action, Katsu looses his sword cane from its bamboo sheath and attempts to stab the pyramid.
"Thank you Myc for distracting it for my blade"
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
(or 23 if the pyramid can be flanked. Most constructs can, but this one might be special)
If hit-Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
If can be flanked, and is vulnerable to sneak attack, additional precision damage:: 1d6 ⇒ 6
"Helena! Follow the sound of my voice when you are done healing our scholarly friend, I will create a hole for you!"

GM Deadly Secret |

Byron moves.
Katsu flanks the pyramid and hits. A majority of your damage was reduced by the hardness of the bricks but you do manage to chip away at it with a sneak attack.
The pyramid will trample Katsu & Gaellin This will also provoke from Etemyc and you are all considered flanking.
trample: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 bludgeoning damage
DC 18
player can take AoO at -4 penalty or Reflex for half damage
Up next, Helena!

![]() |

Unfortunately, for now, I can't make grapple checks as an AOO. If it was attacking me, well yeah. Speaking of which...
Myc reacts swiftly and kicks out at the pyramids legs, trying to bring it down to its knees.
- This will provoke an AOO in response 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
- Modified by any damage from the provoked AOO
In the event the pyramid takes the AOO against Myc and misses, I am making my grapple response here as well.

![]() |

Well, I know that both Myc's attempts to trip and grapple will miss, as it evaded my DC20 grapple check, so I'll make my reflex save now. Also, Myc, remember you are flanking when this provokes. Not that it would have mattered much on the rolls. Sorry man, bad luck.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Again, with surprising reflexes for one who cannot see, Katsu leaps into the air and goes completely horizontal towards the edge of the causeway, allowing the pyramid to pas him by and leaving him unscathed.
Evasion again for no damage
"Helena, it is coming your way, be prepared to flank it!"

![]() |

[b] ”Vildeis, guide my strikes against this foe!”[\b]
Helena will defensively cast divine favor
Concentration Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
She then drops her polearm, five foot steps adjacent to the foe and draws her greatsword.

![]() |

Myc moves up to the pyramid, rubbing his hands together as he does.
Alright, lets see if we can hold you still.
Myc makes a grab for the pyramid and tries to hold it still.
- 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
- This includes the +2 for flanking.

GM Deadly Secret |

Helena casts, moves and draws new weapon.
Gaellin attacks and hits. He realized that probably hurt him more than it hurt the stone. Perhaps you need more damage to get past the hardness.
Etemyc reaches out to grab the pyramid and succeeds. You are both now under the grappled condition.
Round 3
Up next, Byron!

![]() |

Byron draws his wand of cure light wounds and attempts to activate it.
UMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Healing if succesful: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Move action draw the wand, standard attempt to activate.
Byron curses softly when shaking the wand doesn't work.

![]() |

Katsu runs up and attempts a do an aerial cartwheel over the pyramid.
move up to pyramid and attempt a tumble check to move through its square. I suffer no penalties for being blind due to blinded blade style, and it's CMD should be lower from being grappled.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Unfortunately, even grappled the pyramid blocks his way.
I assume the first attempt fails, as it's CMD is at least 21,(20 failed to grapple) meaning it's grappled CMD is at least 19. First movement fails, and I am shunted behind Myc. Try again. The pyramid cannot take attacks of oppertunity while grappled. (unless it has some special ability!
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
He tries going in low the second time, but is similarly blocked.
Fail again. Turn over.
"Gaelin, let me in, I can stab it in vital areas while it's distracted."

![]() |

Helena brings her sword down on the creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 5) + 5 = 12
Helena also use her healer’s way to heal herself as a swift action.
healing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

![]() |

Gaellin wabbles and sways, "Get your own pyramid Katsu!" as he kicks at the pyramid.
kick: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Regardless of the result, Gaellin loses his balance because of the kick and stumbles back. 5ft back

![]() |

Myc tries to twist the pyramind over onto its side and keep it from making further trouble.
Okay, I've never fought an actual block of stone before but let's see if this works.
- Attempting to pin the pyramid.
- 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31 (+10 normal, +5 for continued grapple, +2 for flank?)
Now someone smash this thing!

![]() |

Byron is grinning at the sight of his compatriot pinning a pyramid. He remembers to try to activate the wand.
UMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Healing if successful: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
He then stows the wand.

![]() |

Katsu carefully steps around the stumbling Gaellin.
"I shall politely decline your offer, one pyramid is quite enough. And thank you, Myc for holding it still."
Attacking pinned opponent, with flanking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
If hit, Damage with sneak attack: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 1 = 7

![]() |

Gaelin, stop fooling around and help Etemyc keep a hold on that thing. I shall deliever unto it Absolution!
Helena will continue striking at the stone pyramid with her sword.
attack roll: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16, damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 6) + 5 = 13

![]() |

Myc steps back in and grabs the pyramid.
"Nope! That won't do!"

![]() |

They seem to be having a rather rough time of it, old boy, Byron thought to himself. It's a long shot, but perhaps you'd better have a go.
Raising his crossbow and muttering a prayer to Old Deadeye, Byron tries his luck.
Ranged attack from crossbow: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 4 = 31d8 ⇒ 8
"Blast!" He draws a bolt and reloads the crossbow, then takes a 5' step backwards.

![]() |

Katsu continues trying to chip away at the thing
Attacking grappled pyramid with flanking: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
If hit, Damage with sneak attack: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 8
Appoligies, Last time I forgot flanking was a bonus to my to-hit, not a penalty to its AC. I have fixed the calculations now

![]() |

"Katsu, Gaellin, I cannot get to Etemyc. I will do what I can."
Helena will continue her assault against the pyramid.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Use Re-roll:
I am not sure on the protocol for this in PbP. I own several shirts and a character folio and have 5 GM stars, hence the much higher bonus on the attack roll.
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32, Confirmation: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
Damage: 4d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 3) + 10 = 21
Helena will use her Healer's way to heal herself as a swift action.
healing: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
"The Martyr guides my blows! Absolution shall be delivered unto the wicked."

![]() |

Prescience Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Byron aims his crossbow carefully at the pyramid and hopes for the best.
Woo hoo, going to use that as my attack dice.
Rolling to confirm: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 4 = 15
Normal damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1
If crit confirmed: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Sigh...

![]() |

Katsu will attack this thing, continuing to provide flanking if nothing else.
No offense to the GM, I am sure you are running this as written, but this fight is just stupid for a bunch of level threes and twos.
Attack Roll with flanking: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage with Sneak Attack: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 5) + 1 = 10
