Okay so the plan, as I understand it, is to...

  • rest for the evening.
  • go shopping for a magical scimitar in the morning.
  • return to the manor and enter the Mirror.

    Feeling the effects of the long day upon your bodies, you pledge to take up the request of the Baron to undertake the task of destroying the Mirror on the morrow. The Baron eagerly agrees to your request and then he asks you to return when ready to enter the Mirror. "I will provide you the means to destroy the Mirror when you return," he promises you sincerely.

    Heading down to the dining room you find dinnertime has passed but thanks to Anya the servants provide you a satisfying meal. Once the repast is complete, the Baroness guides you to your guest rooms, of which there are three...

    I will let you decide who bunks up with whom...and any shenanigans can take place behind the scenes, he he.

    Once the next morning dawns you all depart the Manor seeking a magical scimitar as befits a Paladin of the Dawnflower. Fortunately the goddess Saranae smiles upon her follower as indeed one such blade is available. It requires a visit to Shade Row and its de facto mayor of the ghetto, Ionela Zagrev, an old woman who grew up in a freak show in Cheliax. She gladly sells you the blade.

    Setare: Please add +1 Scimitar to your possessions and deduct 2,015 from your gold.

    After picking up the blade and any other supplies you need...Feel free to post any additional purchases in your next post keeping in mind your GP limit is 2,500 gp....you return to visit the Baron who quickly escorts you down to the basement of the Manor. Leading you to a securely locked door in the north wall, he takes out an ornate key and also hands one of you a dark colored shard of glass. "This is...err...was a part of the Mirror before it was broken. Use this to slay the physical manifestation of the Mirror."

    Currently the Shard is considered an Improvised Weapon.

    Once you have secured the shard the Baron unlocks the vault door to reveal a mirror, easily six feet tall, sitting in a ritual circle of silver runes, with an everburning torch at each cardinal direction. "All you need to do to enter the Mirror is to touch the surface after I utter the command word and it will part for you as easily as a pool of water," the Baron informs you, "Good luck to you and again I give you my thanks."

    Now all that is left is to enter the Mirror...which you do after the arcane word rings in the air.

    Steeling yourself here you remind yourself of the tasks before you: Find the two brothers of Stephan and rescue them, if alive, along with the destruction of the Mirror. Taking a deep breath you touch the Mirror and pass through to the other side...

    A chain-bound mirror, identical to that in the basement vault of Boroi Manor, stands unsupported in a small, stone room. The frigid air is thick with a near impenetrable darkness. The only source of light comes from within the mirror itself, the flickering flames from the ring of torches pale silver, as though the illumination had to strain the color from itself to penetrate the darkness here.

    The only exit is a door to the south.

    Before entering, Kit casts a heroism on Setare, hoping that the effects don't go to her head and heightened awareness on herself from her wand while also making her way towards the back of the pack.

    Then she prepares her finger puppets. PCs on one hand, and shadowy blobs on the other with velcro patches to hold appropriate augmentations.

    Barley looks very guilty in the morning, averting any direct eye contact. Suited up in lamellar armor, which looks more like an undersized corset on him, he takes a deep breath and steps through the mirror.

    He studies the door for a moment before proceeding.

    Bad timing apologies, I'm going to be very frantic starting tomorrow through next Friday. My posts may be short with necessary rolls.     Barley buys a Daylight oil 750gp, others can share the cost if they want to do their fifth 150gp. It last 30mins, I think a boss or emergency item just in case.

    As you quickly take stock of the situation you realize it is only a few degrees above freezing in this place, and it is also pitch black, too dark for low-light vision to function. Kitoro's light spell is also noticably dimmed, its range nearly cut in half. The walls (made of an unidentifiable black woodlike substance) are blurry and slowly undulate as if the house itself were breathing. The substance of the house’s walls has a moist, mealy texture to it when examined closely. This also applies to the door as well. Once Barley determines the 'door' is not locked he opens it to reveal a disused room. The shelves are full of empty bottles, bones, and implements of torture. Two doors stand in the center of the north and west walls, the former adjacent to a set of stairs leading up. An iron maiden stands in the eastern corner of the chamber.

    Hoprah shivers, both from the temperature and the gruesome indications in the room. The dimness of the light reminds her of the continual flame scroll that they found earlier and she casts it on her spiked gauntlet.

    You all slowly open the west door to see six five-foot-square alcoves branch off a thirty-foot hallway. Within each stands a six-foot tall sarcophagus of the same shadowy substance as the walls and floors of the chamber.

    Before you can begin exploring further your hearing picks up the soft scrape of bone coming from the rear two alcoves revealing the long, sinuous skeleton of a large snake, its head a humanoid skull with a snake’s jaws.

    Knowledge Arcana DC 13:
    These are necrophidiuses a magical construct built from the skeleton of a giant snake and then mounted with the skull of a humanoid creature.

    For every 5 you beat the DC by you may select one of the items from this LIST to get information on.

    Kit will launch into a bardic performance using the tip of her whip as the snake and the PCs getting tickled by the snake. the levity, as always, magically loosens the joints and adds vigor to their strikes.

    As Etienne informs the others about the nature of these constructs, Setare dashes in and hacks savagely at the lead one! She is joined by Barley who weaves behind the other necrophidius striking it a solid blow. Setare starts her enigmatic puppet show while Hoprah sends a magical bolt at the necrophidius she sees.

    The two constructs turn their attention to those in melee with them, one attacking Setare and the other going after Barley...

    The necrophidiuses continue to attack with their long fangs...
