Kitoro switches weapons while Rilia continues her inspirations. Etienne watches for any threats from elsewhere while Setare and Barley continue their attacks, whittling the objects down further.
The two objects slam into their respective opponents...
Orange Slam vs. Barley: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Miss.
Purple Slam vs. Setare: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Miss.
...but the return blows are easily avoided!

"Don't forget the famous Battle of Ikea!" Rilia lies, hoping to inspire the two combatants in the room. I could just close the door and we could walk away....
With everyone standing in the way and their unwise allies out of reach in the room, the statuesque elf turns to the only seemingly reasonable party member, Etienne, and casts guidance on him just because she wants to touch him.
"Your jacket is very nice. What's it made out of?"
Inspire Courage +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

While Rilia entertains herself here Barley and Setare finally manage to finish off the two constructs!
COMBAT OVER!
Of course the conditions in the room are no less treacherous...

Once Barley and Setare heal up the wounds from the Spike Growth then their speed will return to normal.

![]() |

Setare sighs.
"I ... I do not understand wha ... what made them mo ... move?"
Setare uses the new wand of CLW on herself and Barley.
CLW 49/50 Setare, fey foundling feat +2: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4
CLW 48/50: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
After healing the wounds she starts searching the room.
As we have no time constraints I would propose taking 20. Due to the last crit Setare has 2/4 Panache now.

![]() |

Setare looks at the floor and does not know how to proceed.
"Ca ... can any of you ple... please detect ma... magic and see if the.. there is anything ma... magical here that could be ... be of use to us? If not I ... I would suggest to... to move on." Setare says a little sad.
If something magical is detected, then assume that Setare picks it up. 25 ft. movement damage: 5d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 4, 3) = 14. Depending on the number of items please decide how many feet she had to walk.
Setare then uses the new wand again to heal herself.
2 charges, 46/50 charges remaining: 2d8 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2, 6) + 2 + 4 = 14

![]() |

Hoprah casts Detect Magic and scans the room to see if there is anything of interest.

![]() |

"Tha ... thank you Hoprah!" Setare says with a smile.
Team, assuming we clear the furniture room I would propose to continue to the next room? If yes: GM, the usual all checking for traps and if nothing can be found Setare enters.

![]() |

Hoprah finds a single source of magic here...a silver raven figurine, which Setare manages to grab though not without cutting up her legs further.

![]() |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Sigh... Hoprah casts identify again and then takes 10 for 25.
"This is a figurine of wondrous power. It can be used to deliver messages."

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

While Rilia waits for some of the party to self-wound some more, tapping her foot the whole time.
"I ... I do not understand wha ... what made them mo ... move?"
"Attraction. See, Setare, in the dim light your figure makes you look a like a hatstand, and when one piece of furniture likes another piece of furniture they give each other a special hug. That's where sets of furniture come from." Rilia says in as unconvincing a lie as she can muster, trying to be as sharp as possible.
"Oh look, you've found a hood ornament for the carriage. Can we please move on with our unimportant business of saving people's souls from torture and damnation now?"

![]() |

Kitoro can't help but burst out laughing.
"Where did you train, Rilia? I'm afraid my training was an informal one on one affair."

![]() |

LOL, I am really laughing!!! You guys are awesome!
Setare also can’t help to laugh and at same time looks at are figure ... nodding.

![]() |

Kitoro can't help but burst out laughing.
"Where did you train, Rilia? I'm afraid my training was an informal one on one affair."
"Kitoro, I don't think they call it an 'affair' unless there are at least three people involved." Rilia looks the fox woman up and down. "I suppose you are wearing that because you know that 'fur kills.' Or is it because you want to warn us that you can be a real b!%+~ sometimes?"

![]() |

"Depends on what you mean by 'involved'. And don't be so jealous. I may have fur, but you would give any vixen a run in the b*%+$ department. I could introduce you to a few fellows that are into that kind of girl if you'd like, since you are not having much luck with the 'local' pathfinders."
In spite of her words, Kit has a real smile on her face. Nothing like a little vicious verbal banter to brighten her day.

![]() |

"Who said anything about 'fellows'?" Rilia says with a wink and a pinch.

![]() |

Setare just listens and tries to look somewhere else with her head turning tomatoe red.
Obviously, the discussion is too ... embarassing for her.

![]() |

Moving onto the next room, you check out the next door to the south. Barley sees it is not locked or trapped and it opens easily. The floor of this room is covered in thousands of keys of all sizes and shapes.
All is quiet.

Kit peers around the corner to the southeast while Setare is inspecting the room.

![]() |

Setare is a little confused to see so many keys.

![]() |

As Hoprah casts her detect magic spell she finds a single source of magic, a key shaped unusually in the shape of a tuning fork head.

![]() |

spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Inspire Competence for a +2 to Hoprah's spellcraft roll.
Once again Kit encourages another party member in her low and resonate (and let's not forget magically infused) 'encouraging' voice.
"May Sarenrae's brilliance infuse you, Setare, and reveal the nature of this key!"

![]() |

Ha ha! I would love to but Setare does not have detect magic or Spellcraft. I assume you will encourage Hoprah! ;-)
Setare starts walking down the aisle that Kit was looking at.
Again the group looks for traps, Setare opens and they cast detect magic everywhere.

![]() |

"Ahem . . . please allow me to see the key." Etienne casts detect magic and spends rounds concentrating. attempting to identify the item.
Spellcraft to ID w/Kit bonus: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 2 = 27
If Kit can't help more than one person than ignore that +2

![]() |

Hoprah missed all the banter among her comrades because she had stopped for a snack. Wiping her mouth and brandishing an almost-finished turkey leg, she comments, "This adventuring is hungry work..."
When they spot another magical item she again attempts to identify it.
Spellcraft, Inspire Competence: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9
Presuming that Etienne is able to get it with Kit's help, but if not Hoprah will cast Identify again
Spellcraft, Identify, Inspire Competence still active?: 1d20 + 5 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 10 + 2 = 35
"Ah, a Chime of Opening. That could certainly come in handy. Who would like to hold it?"
GM, please let me know if I should mark off a use of a level 1 spell for Identify?

![]() |

Thanks for catching that type, Hoprah. The inspire was meant for your roll. Etienne, I would have to use a round of performance for each attempt boosted. Knowing that you have the best base spellcraft, I'll boost you next time.
"I think, perhaps, I should hold it. I have some skill in locks already, though I'm not sure that matters with this device. How does it work?"

![]() |

"Just strike the chime when you want to open a door or a lock. I believe it has enough magic remaining to be used six times."
Chimes of Opening info here

![]() |

"Now that that's sorted, let's press on. The longer we stay here the more dread I feel."

![]() |

"Onward then." <- Second the vote to keep moving.

![]() |

Uses inspire onward and possibly her whip. ;)

![]() |

Hoprah is also ready to move forward (unless there's something here that we've missed so far - if there is, I missed it)

![]() |

Continuing your explorations here you see the corridor meets up back to where you initially entered this level. Also there are doors interspersed along the corridor leading towards the center of the complex, along with an archway leading to an area to the south, with several additional doors as well.
All is quiet.

"Head towards the center, I say."

![]() |

All check for traps and detect magic is cast.
Setare starts opening the door and walks into the center.

![]() |

Kit aims and gives the key/chime a little tap.

![]() |

Kit sighs and pulls out her own set of lockpicks and gives the lock a try.
Disable device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
"Nothing like good old fashioned finesse."

![]() |

Kitoro manages to solve the lock here, whereas magic failed here, and the lock opens with a tiny *click*. On the other side of the door is an elegant room, far different than the other rooms you have seen so far, resembling a fine dining room on the Material Plane, spread with a feast fit for a great lord. The meal looks freshly prepared yet no one but yourselves is here to enjoy said feast. A stairway in the room’s northwest corner leads up to another floor.
This room otherwise appears empty, yet of note here is several rows of black ichor leaking from the opposite wall.

![]() |

"If I remember Ambrus Valsin's training classes, he was pretty explicit that one should clear a floor before proceeding up or down. Perhaps this door right here across the hall is worthy of our time and attention?"

![]() |

Setare nods and walks out of the room.
Again, after checking the door for traps and detect magic Setare opens the door on the other side.
