Etienne examines the potion and ring as the other investigate the murder.
Spellcraft on potion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Spellcraft on ring: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
"These are potions of Pass without Trace and the ring is a ring of climbing"

Kitoro whirls around, wand held out like it is some kind of sword, bully expecting to see a shadow emerge from the wall behind Setare. Seeing nothing she glares at Rilia and then gives a hearty laugh.
"Sorry. Couldn't resist."
”Oh dear Sarenrae! These sha ... shadows were aw ... awful. She is trun... truly dead. What ha ... happened to her? Why cou ... couldn’t I hurt the ... them?!“ Setare says, clearly very sad and in a state of severe insecurity.
"Generally speaking you need something with a bit magical razzamatazz to harm things that can move through walls without disturbing the wall itself, dear. Otherwise you are just waving what amounts to more 'wall' through them."

![]() |

”Tha ... Thanks Rilia! I will reme... remember that in the ... the future!“ Setare says in thoughts.

![]() |

When the others have finished and she is quite sure the corpse is not going to jump up and attack her, Kit rejoins the others and starts looking around for secret passageways under carpeting and behind things, humming 'The Ghosts of Oparra Tower' (sung to the tune of the monster mash).
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

![]() |

While your search for hidden passages proves fruitless, the door in the east wall is obvious to see. Seeing little else of interest here you move onward through that door.
Your eyes quickly adjusting to the bright light in this room, apparently emanating from the ceiling, your noses are assaulted by the smell of hot fat which is overpowering. In the front of the room is a drying rack on which candles are hung while they cool. Broken and mangled, it sits in a circle drawn in blood and fat. Farther back, a furnace emits a dim glow, and behind it stand several enormous vats, each as tall as a human.
You see two humans, a male and a female, standing in front of one of the vats, and even from this distance you can see they are both inflicted with the tallowthroat disease. As you move inside the room they turn to face you with a look more curious than fearful.

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Using the Message spell, Hoprah whispers to the others, "That drying rack has been transformed into an altar for ritual sacrifice. Be careful."
Turning to the two people in the room, she inquires, "Who are you, and be you friend or foe of Miss Catalina?"

![]() |

Setare immediately starts ‚detect evil‘.
She concentrates on the humans.

![]() |

Kitoro brings out the finger puppet for whomever starts talking to them in earnest (i.e. making a diplomacy roll) to encourage them with noble puppet posturing and grant a +2 to the roll (inspire competence).

![]() |

The man turns to face you with a smile of greeting, "Hello, My name is Fane and this is my wife Onana," he points to the human woman, "And why no we are friends of hers. Ilquis asked us to come down here to help him out with an important project to deal with this encroaching danger to our town."
Setare does indeed detect the presence of evil, but it is not coming from the humans. Whils she cannot see the source of the evil it appears to be in the center of the room.

![]() |

Setare looks timid at first but then starts to draw her Scimitar and moves forward.
”A hidden evil is present in the middle of the room! It is not you ... “ she says with a stern look at the humans.
”You seem like innocent people. I want to protect you!“
Diplomacy : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

![]() |

Add +2 to Setare's roll from the bardic inspiration.

![]() |

The two humans do not seem to react to Setare's pleas and Barley does sense something odd with the human's mannerisms.
Suddenly a high screeching voice calls out from somewhere near the center of the room towards the ceiling of the room, though you cannot see the source of it. "Begone! I am in the middle of an important ritual here and I will not tolerate any delays here! Trust me I am on official business, entrusted by the Baron himself and he will may you pay for disrupting me!"

![]() |

Setare steps forward ready to strike the invisible enemy concentrating on detect evil to locate the source.
”I will not retreat ... show yourself or face my wrath!“

![]() |

Hoprah will cast Glitterdust in the general direction of the voice. It's a 10' radius spread, so hopefully with the voice speaking so clearly she has a decent chance of targeting it close enough.
Perception to target within 10' of the voice: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
If the invisible source is within the targeted area, they are visibly outlined in glitter (no save, 4 rounds duration), and DC 18 Will save or blinded (new save at the end of their turn each round, 4 rounds duration.
If the location of the voice is close enough to also target one or both of the humans, Hoprah will do so.

![]() |

Etienne is alert, searching for the source of the disembodied voice, while also shuffling his Harrow deck.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

![]() |

Hoprah casts her spell sending a glittering mass of particles where she heard the high pitched voice, and it outlines a small form perched up on the furnace. She cannot make out too many features of the being though she believes it is a fey of some kind.
"So you wish to play with me eh? Very well then, let's PLAY!"
For every 5 you beat the DC by you may select one of the items from this LIST to get information on.
Barley: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Etienne: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Hoprah: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Kitoro: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 (-4 if no heightened awareness)

While Hoprah realizes they do not have any special resistances, Etienne realizes they are indeed immune to being blinded, though they are susceptible to effects attacking their weak constitution. Low Fort saves.
LiL Will save DC 15 (Evil Eye): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
LiL Will save DC 16 (Hideous Laughter): 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 4 = 34

![]() |

I'll be out much of the day playing tabletop PFS, so I'm posting Hoprah's next turn now.
Hoprah glares at the evil fey creature and lets loose a blood-curdling scream, that only it can hear. Ear-piercing Scream, DC 17 Fort save. Failure = Sonic dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 and dazed for 1 round; Success = half damage and no daze effect.

![]() |

Barley grazes the evil fey with a cold iron arrow, which bypasses its normal protections.
"OUUUCH! You are going to pay for this!" The fey screams out as it flies up towards the ceiling. Barley, however, feels a pulsating glare threaten to overwhelm his vision!
Barley needs to make a Fortitude DC 17 or be Blinded.
Despite the fey's movements, Hoprah is still able to target another spell at it, sending a sonic wave washing over it!
LiL Fort save DC 17: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Failed, Dazed for 1 round.
It's movements turn erratic as it slowly drifts back onto the furnace.

Setare was already prepared to attack and is thankful that Hoprah could make this evil being visible. She moves forward and prays to her goddess to smite this evil fey.
SWIFT ACTION: Smite Evil. AC 20 vs. the fey due to smite evil. Setare's attacks bypass any DR.
”Rilia is right! By the light of the Dawnflower! You will answer to us little fey!!!“
Setare attacks the dazed fey with her Scimitar but as her companions told her that this is a fey she only attack with non-lethal force as she was trained to do for years!
Due to ‚Blade of Mercy‘ trait: Non-lethal damage has no -4 to hit and has +1 to damage. .
Scimitar attack roll, inspire, smite : 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 1 + 4 = 20
Damage roll, inspire, smite, non-lethal : 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 13
In case Setare is attacked she uses 'Opportune Parry' and parries by expending an AoO to parry and spends a panache point (so if the attack roll of tshe opponent is lower than Setare's parry then the opponent does not hit and Setare could potentially reposte)
Opportune Parry: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 + 4 = 29
In case Setare successfully parries she uses 'Reposte' as an immediate action to attack the opponent that attacked her.
Scimitar attack roll, inspire, smite : 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 + 4 = 29
Damage roll, inspire, smite, non-lethal : 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 12

![]() |

While Rilia offers her words of encouragement, Setare needs no such help as she strike the fey a resounding blow, cushioning it at the last moment!
The two human stare horrified at Setare and hustle over to her, drawing their clubs as they move.
"We cannot let you harm Ilquis!" Fane exclaims, "Yes, we need his help," Oana chimes in.
Fane Club: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Hit, Parried and Riposted for 12 NL damage.
Oana Club: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Miss.
Setare proves herself far more skilled than the two hapless humans, nearly knocking Fane to the ground!

Etienne, Barley and Kitoro are UP! Barley: You were struck with the Blindness spell, which unfortunately is Permanent.

![]() |

Kitoro will launch into a comedic performance, mocking the imp and heartening the Pathfinders. If someone else fails a ST, Kitoro will use saving finale to give them another ST.
The performance does not stack with the other performance, but I did not like that blindness spell at all and want to be able to use the saving finale.

![]() |

Was the Lurker in Light flying? If so, I believe that (see this FAQ) being dazed will prevent it from flying, causing it to fall to the ground, hopefully taking falling damage and rendering it prone.

![]() |

Etienne tries a slightly different approach. His gaze alters subtly, still targeting the fey.
Evil Eye for -2 to AC, DC 15 Will save or lasts for 7 rounds, and lasts for 1 rd w/ save

Barley: You were struck with the Blindness spell, which unfortunately is Permanent.
That's what I thought. Well this is going to be an interesting game.

Kitoro offers up another comedic performance while Etienne concentrates upon the evil fey again...
LiL Will save DC 15: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
...but it shrugs off the hex easily.
Barley fights down a sense of panic as the only thing he can see now is a blinding glare.
