Sorry everyone. The typhoon that hit our country left some serious damage in our area. We have no power for a few days now. I'm posting from work and I'll try to catch up with what's been happening.

Mao continues to wander through the fog and tries to look for Aurus. Do I need to do a Perception check? Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 He readies his fist to attack the first hostile creature to approach him.

The fog isn't that dense. It's just 20% miss chance on ranged attacks (no matter how many squares of fog you fire through).

You easily spot Aurus in the pile of grain and you can make out he's still quite alive and kicking.

Did he pick up the vial? Because if he did not and the others do not hit the operative at least one, Cloudia is going to grease the vial. If, on the other hand they do manage to mangle it, she will trust in a magic missile to take it down. In other words, delay until the others have gone.

Mao moves and suddenly all sound is gone! From the grain jumps yet another black echelon who tries to open the flowhatch direclty above Mao

I'm assuming Cloudia will dismiss the grease before anyone tries to pick it up to close it

Nine more ceramic vials of Gut Wither are still in an ancient rusted metal chest.

"Ok, back to the mission! Let's get to Grandmaster Torch"


Desperate to find Nessian, Yargos takes you into the sewer maze of the Puddle District, a waterlogged labyrinth of dangerously flooded tunnels known as the Siphons. There you find the receiving room of Grandmaster
Torch, one of Absalom’s most notorious information brokers. Yargos warns you that Grandmaster Torch has powerful friends and bodyguards and that they would be wise to keep their weapons sheathed.

After requesting an audience, you are brought before the Grandmaster.

Grandmaster Torch lounges in a shallow pool nursing horrible burn scars that cover his entire body, while two servants gently recycle the water over his charred form. Two heavily armored, half-orc bodyguards remain close at hand.

With a soft spoken voice he says

"Welcome Pathfinders, how can I be of assistance?"

Torch points to a door.

"There's no catch, except if you don't succeed, you'll have to go back to your precious logde and find some of your colleagues who are more capable and are able to prove themselves. If you can't beat a couple of boxes, how will you fare against Nessian and his goons."

As you go through the door Grandmaster Torch pointed to you enter a small room with 5 safes:

The Devil Dial:
The lock of this iron cask contains a laughing devil’s head.

The Box of Golden Faces:
This red box has been inset with a trio of golden faces: the first appears stern, the second angry, and the third fumes with hatred.

The Riddle Vault:
The lid of this stone chest is covered with a relief of carved ivy.

The Smooth Stone Chest:
This sealed stone chest has no visible lock or hinges. No decoration or writing of any kind can be found.

The Holed Safe:
A strange stylized writing wraps around the whole of this rectangular chest. Stranger still are the ten small pores that run along the box’s lid.

Feel free to pick a box and interact with it. Any character can potentially open any safe.

Cloudia will cast detect magic and examine a box that radiates magic with either spellcraft or Knowledge Arcana.

Spellcraft or Kn Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

We are not the most skillful bunch. This may be difficult but that roll will help.

All boxes, except the Devil Dial, radiate magic, but only the Smooth Stone Chest actually has a school aura. Cloudia identifies it as Illusion.

Lukian examines the box and manages to pierce the illusion to discover the box can actually be opened simply by lifting off the lid, a permanent glamer tricks any who look upon it into thinking that the chest remains closed and sealed.

Inside the box is a collection of material components for a wealth of spells (value 500 gp but 70 lbs. of weight)
