GreyPlauge's Untitled Campaign

Game Master GreyPlauge

Hi, I'm new on here and I'd like to run a game. Be warned, it's hard mode.

To claim your spot, roll 3d6 in order for abilities and 1d7 for race (alphabetically in order of appearance in phb).

Yeah, I know. It's different, but every npc you run into will be built the same way. So it's fair. You make all of the choices your character would have made, but not the ones he/she wouldn't have (mostly).

If you roll something dismal, we might be able to do a workaround, provided you accept a trade off. If you roll a five or less, we can figure out how to bring it to a nine at the cost of a permanent dismemberment or something.

Level 2, any paizo class, provided you can link to the srd. Starting gold is rolling first level gold by class for each class you take and add them together. Hp is max first level and half everything after. Let me know if you pick sorcerer or oracle. Those classes will have to roll for a bloodline/deity and I haven't figured out that table yet.

I won't disallow traits that increase starting gold, but it is discouraged.

Please use the dice roller from the forum.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

What the hell, might as well roll.

3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) = 12

1d7 ⇒ 3

so str 10, dex 13, con 11, int 10, wis 8, cha 14 gnome. Not that bad. Looks like a cha-based caster of sorts. Maybe a Ray-mancer.

Edit: Wait, we have to roll for bloodlines? Yeck. Not going to play a sorcerer, then.

1d6 = 2

1d6 = 5

1d6 = 4

1d6 = 4

1d6 = 6

1d6 = 4

1d8-1= 5

Lol rolling to see what id get!

Rolls:

3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9
1d7 ⇒ 3

Lol worst gnome ever!

Strength: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) = 8
Dexterity: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8
Constitution: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) = 16
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4) = 12
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4) = 11
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) = 12

Race: 1d7 ⇒ 6

A Half-Orc with a Constitution of 16? I don't suppose you allow the Scarred Witch Doctor to use it's old rules, do you?

Me. Benefield, you have a spot secured, but I ask that you re roll with the forum dice roller. See near the bottom where it says how to format your text? Click show. Near the bottom is how to do dice rolls on here.

Sorry, I was previously posting from a character in another game. I'm the GM

ok so
str: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3) = 12
dex: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3) = 11
con: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 4) = 11
int: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11
wis: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) = 4
cha: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 3) = 10

race: 1d7 ⇒ 4

well i guess im a human fighter super average here guys

Okay. Recruitment closed. We'll continue to use this page for locking in characters.

Mr. Garrett, please post a link for the witch doctor.

If you don't get to go the old SWD, you can always do the kineticist instead. That con is pretty tasty, even if you'll have trouble hitting anything.

2d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) + (4, 6) = 19*10=190gp.

This would be the current version. It was recently changed, however - Originally Fierce Intelligence was this.

Original Version wrote:
Constitution Dependent: A scarred witch doctor uses Constitution instead of Intelligence when determining the highest level of spells she can cast, her spell save DCs, number of spells known at 1st level, and any effects of her hexes normally determined by her Intelligence.

It has...not been one of Paizo's more popular decisions, to change it from a very flavourful option into the current version which punishes Orcs and rewards Half-Orcs, who can obviously usually use Intelligence instead quite happily. So I would like to use the old version of the class, if at all possible.

Jhonperu would you like to negotiate for a better wisdom score? You can either take the -3 to will saves and perception or have one eye. -1to ranged attacks for each 15 feet, -1 to sight based perception checks and anything I think it might affect situationally.

ok sure what would his new wisdom be?

Mr. Garrett, I hate saying no, but a physical primary stat for a primary caster is a little out there. Keep going. if you have that in your toolbox, I look forward to what you can come up with.

Jhonperu, 9.

got it well it wont be too bad i guess

Grothik - would I be able to roll a Bloodrager (I know, the gnome is terrible already, so I might as well just go full banana)? If that was the case (and I was crossblooded) would I choose at least one bloodline, or both would be rolled?

Can you link to blood rager?

Yeah, I'll go Kineticist if the new Occult classes are allowed.

Kineticist is fine.

Just so I can say I said it, if you rolled a human, half elf or half Orc, you can pick where that plus 2 goes. There will be rp experience for back stories.

what about starting equipment and gold

Could you tell us something about the adventure? How do we start off? Helps a lot for when making backstories.

I've decided to go for summoner, by the way. It fits my stats pretty well.

OK, so we have a Gnome Summoner, a Gnome Bloodrager (I love that plan) and a Human Fighter? Since we are horribly lacking healing, would it be OK if I grabbed the Kinetic Chirugeon Archetype? It's not exactly a full healer, but it's better than blowing every penny on wands and potions.

If we put together the gold for a wand of CLW, I could give my eidolon Skilled: UMD and skill focus. Then it could heal us between combats with the wand, activating it by taking 10.

On the other hand, this sounds like the sort of game where we won't be seeing treasure for weeks, never mind the opportunity to buy or create the magic items we want ourselves. Having some in-class healing in the party will probably be a good idea.

yeah true i am barely a good fighter so whatever happens i will need healing

If I were you I'd go with the Dual Talent variant racial trait. It'd let you have 14 str and 13 con to start with, not a bad deal.

str: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3) = 12
dex: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) = 5
con: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) = 6
int: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) = 11
wis: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) = 6
cha: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) = 10
[dice=race]1d7/dice]

Ok, now I read above about forum dice rolls and here's a new official one. Sorry, not good at this yet.

Grand Lodge

Interesting. Challenge Accepted.

Stats: Do these stats have to be in order as they are rolled?
Str: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6) = 18
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1) = 12
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2) = 4
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2) = 9
Cha: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16

Race:
1d7 ⇒ 4

Well it looks like I'm a half elf.
And with these stats I think I would make a pretty decent Paladin.
And my Int is just 1 more than a magical beast. Awesome, I can still speak common Hahaha!

Well damn. That's not good.

race: 1d7 ⇒ 4

Wat. Not sure if be jealous or what. Those are some fantastic rolls. Still, they're freaking ugly at the same time.

Also, Shonka the gnome and her eidolon, Gazveh the wise serpent has their sheet done. I'll still need to write a background, put together the alias for her, and buy remaining equipment of course, but then she should be done.

Thank you much, Dragon. Waiting on Grothik's ruling though. If I can switch the rolls around I think a barbarian would be a better character with these rolls than a paladin. Paladin just fits the drop better for now.

Yup. I'd have spent less time scratching my head, trying to work out what to do when Con was my only decent stat if we could switch.

Ah, got it. Thanks, looks like a paladin it is.

at least you got a good stat... so average

Okay, I think things are getting a little confusing. The following players had their spots locked in before I closed recruitment about three hours ago:

jhonperu, jongarrett, thearchlich, the dragon and puddyfoot.

Will those players please carry on character/team creation (I see some teamwork going on and I like it), on the discussion page (see at the top of this page, there is a tab marked discussion.

Anyone who came after, I apologize, it's just getting too big. Should we need new players, you'll be invited before we go to an open recruitment.

No switching stuff around.

Level 2, find the level one starting gold and roll for it for both of your classes. Pick two traits.

Please don't reply to this post. Recruitment is closed. If your name was listed in this post, please continue the conversation on the discussion tab.

3d6: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11
1d7: 1d7 ⇒ 7
Well, looks like a dumb-as-dirt human fighter.
