Rekkstuff (Obstacle 2) - Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Obstacle 5:Acrobatics1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

It looks like Rekkstuff isn't very good at this.

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

End alley:
Jordon, still disguised as a guardsman, says, "Get away from that woman, filth!" He draws his masterwork longspear as he says it, brandishing it in their direction.

Firstly, my standard action is to brandish the spear against a charge (or any enemy who moves into range normally).

Intimidate to coerce them away: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Also, I might get a bonus from the disguise.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

End alley:
The figures turn away from the woman to face you. Rotting flesh hangs from their faces as they shuffle toward you menacingly.

"Oy, Reginald," one of them says. "Wot have we 'ere? It seems one of the coppers ain't learned his place yet."

"Perhaps we bettah educate 'im," Reginald says. He gestures to his general decomposition. "You see this, bloke? That means we work for the Master, and that means wot we're doin' is none o' your beeswax, savvy?"

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

End alley:
The sight of their decomposing forms causes Jordon to lose his composure. He hesitates, taking a half-step back and keeping the spear between himself and the enemies. Hoping his allies arrive soon, he stalls for time by saying, "Oh, the Master eh? I suppose he probably has some kind of master plan?" Counting on the fact that villains love to divulge their master plans, Jordon gulps and hopes for the best.

Not in use

Wafting along the breeze you heard faint sounds of Tobar leading the tavern in a rousing rendition of "Ooooooooohhhh, the grand old Duke of York, he had ten thousand men..."

Roger and Victor:
You both come running into a dead-end alleyway, to find Jordon face-to-face with two figures in wool coats and bowler hats, with rotting flesh hanging from their faces. Before you have a chance to react, they surround Jordon.

Surprise round for Jordon and the two undead, using same initiative as before. Both undead move to flank Jordon, and end their turn.

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

Alleyway:
I thought I had a readied action to attack?

Jordon drops his spear to the ground, as it won't do him much good in these cramped quarters after the enemies closed. He takes a step back toward the street (5-foot step out of the flank, diagonally so they can't set it up again without a move action) and wags his finger at the two men, saying angrily, "Now see here! If you think to accost the city guard in our own alleyways, you will be punished to the full extent of the law! We will have no mercy!"

Using Perform (act) to initiate a bardic performance: fascinate. Save DC 16 or become fascinated and unable to stab my guts out.

Initiative reminder:

Undead: 20
Victor: 19
Roger: 5
Jordon: 4

Undead 1:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Undead 2:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

One of the undead stops stupified in his tracks, while the other swings a wild haymaker at Jordon.

Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Seeing the situation, Victor approaches the attacking... thing, drawing his sword as he goes.

"What are you?" he shouts as he takes a swing at the non-fascinated undead.

Longsword:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Damage if hit:1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

EDIT: Threat! To confirm:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Additional damage if crit confirmed:1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

EDIT EDIT: Oooh, could be close. Also, entering Snake Style as swift action, per usual.

Song over, Tobar slinks up next to what he thinks is an attractive young gnome... but is probably a half-orken child "..oh yeah, I'm famous. Yeah, yeah - I'm inna band. Squealy *hic* Nord!"

The undead creature howls as Victor slashes his sword through loose flesh. At the sound of his companion's shriek, the other undead snaps out of his fascination.

OK, Roger and Jordon still need to go for this round.

...Meanwhile, back at the bar...

The small person stares at Tobar with wide eyes. "Whoa..."

...Meanwhile, back in the OTHER alley...

Rekkstuff (Acrobatics): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Roger will move up and cast Chord of Shards, catching (hopefully) the previously fascinated creature.

Reflex DC 15 for half:2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4

This spell has been really, really ineffective for me.

At the bar...

"Yeah, yeah... diggit I play the flute" with a big self impressed grin on his face giggling.

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

So, I'm at obstacle 3 after this round now, right? Read through everything asap.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Yeah, but the glass pane was shattered, so there's no check on obstacle 3.

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

I see. Then next turn I'm on Obs. 4

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

On his next turn, Jordon first takes a retreating 5-foot step. Next, he pulls on his guard's cloak, flourishing it dramatically in front of him and transforming back into Jordon behind it, with full makeup and everything. Without offering an explanation to the men in front of him, he drops the cloak and spins his accordion around so it rests on his chest. Finally, he starts to play a lively battle tune with the accordion.

The fascinate will drop, since I've stopped using that performance. Starting an Inspire Courage.

Performance rounds: 18/20

Both undead shift to be adjacent to Victor, and swipe at him in revenge for his wicked strike. However he dodges one, and the other fist clangs uselessly against his chain shirt.

Undead 1:
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Undead 2:
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

...Back at the bar...

The small person sips on a juice box. "That's so cool, mister!"

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Feeling inspirationally courageous, Victor takes another swipe at the same creature with his magical longsword.

"Aaaaaaaaadiecreepymonstermanthing!!!"

Longsword attack:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Damage if hit:1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

EDIT: Also, if I get a Kn(Religion) to ID the undead, here it is:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Roger, frowning at the near uselessness of his spell again, tries to flank one of the undead, drawing his dagger on his way over.

Acrobatics to avoid AoO, if necessary:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Attack, activating arcane strike1d20 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 14

Victor:
They're wights

Roger lashes out with his dagger at the injured undead, and it collapses to the ground with a shriek.

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

"Guys! Look out, they're wights! They'll drain your life force if they touch you!"

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

Jordon continues to play, backing up further away from the wight. Because his weapon is on the other side of the hideous undead creature, he has no plans to engage it.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Still need Rekkstuff to try obstacle 4, but I'll continue with the combat.

The remaining wight turns to Roger and swipes at him in revenge for felling his friend.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

I think these wights have been drinking or something. Sheesh.

Back at the bar

Clapping his new found fan on the shoulder "Too bloody right... I gotta piss." and Tobar stumbles through the front door and looks for a secluded section of wall to sprinkle.

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Attack, Arcane Strike1d20 + 1 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 4 = 8
Damage1d4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4

Everybody's been drinking! :/

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Victor keeps after the one he's been hitting, trying to take him down.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Edit to my previous post: I didn't realize the first wight went down. With that in mind, I attack the remaining one, rather than just mutilating the fallen corpse of the first. :P

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

Despite his first instinct being 'murder the @#$# dog,' Rekkstuff had to respect the balls of anything that would bark at a sexy god of rock and death carrying a guitar-axe.

So he just yelled at it to get the heck out of his way.

Intimidate 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Unfortunately, his heretofore unmentioned phobia of dogs manifested itself suddenly, and his voice creaked a little, ruining the effect.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

Based on Jordon's last post, I'm assuming he's just going to continue his Inspire Courage for this round. Moving on.

The remaining wight lashes out at Victor in his growing anger. He strikes with a heavy thump, and drains some of the life force from Victor.

Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

Just maintaining performance, going to bump someone's save with Saving Finale if needed.

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

I seem to recall having been in Snake Style:

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

On his next round, Rekkstuff again tries to get the dog out of his way. Steeling his nerves and taking a deep breath, he shouts at the dog as loudly as he can, putting his musician's lungs to work.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

All told, Rekkstuff is bad at chasing things..

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Sorry, didn't realize I hadn't acted this round.

Attack
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Damage
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

I've been adding up my Attack onuses a little bit wrong, apparently.

Confirmation
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Crit Damage
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Tobar continues to lean against the wall... perhaps he's taking a nap?

The wight turns its attention to Roger.

Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

...Back at the bar...

Vinny orders another round of drinks for the crowd, and gestures grandly at the table where everyone used to be sitting, blissfully unaware that it's currently empty.

Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4

Okay, one more thing. If someone rolls a 12+, and it results in a miss, I'll use my Gallant inspiration to add 2d4 to their roll retroactively as an immediate action.

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

Rekkstuff hits Obstacle 5, and tries to jump over it.

Acrobatics (Untrained):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Unfortunately, the inevitable happens. Rekkstuff is REALLY bad at this 'chase' thing.

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Eager to not have any more of his life force drained than necessary, Victor strikes at the wight with his sword before attempting to tumble 15ft back out of reach.

Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage if hit:1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Acrobatics to tumble:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Jordon whips out his wand and pokes Victor in the back with it, whispering gently into his ear, "I'm right behind you."

The wight strikes back at Roger.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Jordon already went for this round, but everyone else go ahead.

Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3

Rekkstuff again valiantly attempts to jump the fruit cart, because darn this fruit cart.

Archeologist's Luck activate. Acrobatize! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

And then Rekkstuff was mired in a fruit cart.

...yep.

"That tears it. Worst. Chase. Ever."

See you guys in two rounds. Maybe.

Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4

Being a bit more cautious now, the increasingly weak Victor drops his sword (being now 15ft from the wight) and then draws and fires his shortbow at the creature.

So I've got 2 negative levels, plus Inspire Courage, minus the "firing into melee" penalty, so...

Shortbow attack:1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Damage:1d6 ⇒ 4

Male human Soundstriker Bard 4

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Damage1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
