Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Next round's action:
Jordon, realizing that the spear isn't his only weapon against undead, casts cure moderate wounds and tries to backhand the bugger.
Concentration to cast defensively (DC 19): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Melee touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage, assuming hit: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6) + 4 = 14

Cogs continue to turn in Tobar's ale addled brain... Something involving hamsters? ... nah - too easy
The last remaining wight's flesh dissolves at Jordon's touch, and it collapses to the ground. The woman they were attacking is still crumpled in the corner, conscious but terrified.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon goes to the lady, helping her to her feet and asking her, "Are you harmed, m'lady?" If he sees any injuries on her, he'll cast cure light wounds.
She is slightly injured, but the cure light wounds is more than enough to heal her, except for the energy drain from the wights.

Mind cogs still cranking trying to figure out an inventive way to show up Vinny, Tobar shrugs his shoulders and thinks Ah feck it, I'll leave it for later. Wonder where the rest of the boys are before turning to walk outside and track down the band.
The woman staggers to her feet, then practically collapses into Jordon's arms, sobbing.
"Thank you!" she cries. "I thought I was going to be killed for certain. The Master has the town scared into passivity, but with all the people coming in out of town for the concert, I hoped someone would be willing to help me. You had the look of adventurers about you, and it seems I was right."
She glances around at the eyes peeking out from windows and around corners. "Can we talk in private?" she asks.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon raises his eyebrows, winks to the rest of the band (who are here), and says, "Why, certainly, miss." He lets her lead to someplace more private.
"What about the rest of your friends?" she asks, looking back. "Weren't there more of you before?"
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
"Oh, don't worry miss, they won't mind. They've probably gotten distracted by something along the way." He tries to lead her off, if she doesn't start to walk on her own, though he doesn't get forceful. To change the subject, he says to her, "Well, miss, do you have a name for me?"
Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3
Meanwhile, a short ways away...
"FRUIT CARRRRRRRRRRT!"
"My name is Elendra," she says. "And we really shouldn't split up. It could be dangerous after what you did to those thugs."
Jordon, you notice that she's wearing a wedding ring.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon frowns, though he's not going to give up because she's wearing a band. However, seeing that she's resolved to wait for the others, he says, "Oh, fine, I guess we can see if they show up." In the meantime, he'll chat with her about who she is, and why those undead were attacking her.

Tobar finds Rekkstuff cursing with one foot stuck in a watermelon and the other in a pawpaw. Assisting him with the escape from his predicament Tobar joins him in following the trail of destruction to the others.
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"I hope Tobar brings a stiff drink when he shows up... Ugh..."
Elendra ducks around a corner, and waves at the others to join her and Jordon. When they arrive, she begins to explain:
"My husband works, or worked, at the ironworks on the South side of town, but a few days ago, I was told there was an accident. They said he died, and the body was burned beyond recognition in the fire. But the very next day, when walking by the works, I swear to you that I saw him. He acted like he didn't recognize me, but I swear it was him!
"I asked around, and heard of other similar stories, of people dying mysteriously at the ironworks, but their bodies never being returned. I fear the Master who runs the ironworks is doing something terrible to them, but he keeps the town in fear. Please, can you help me?"

Tobar's external face is kind and comforting, though in a lull he leans to Rekk, elbows him and whispers "..ain't we here for a concert like?"
Male human Soundstriker Bard 4
Hmmm.... While I'd like to help you, I can't help but think this is a group decision. Guys?
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon places his hand gently on her shoulder, saying, "Of course we'll help you." He turns to the band, saying, "We can't just leave this damsel to the wolves!" He gives them puppy-dog eyes.
Of course, looking back to the woman, his mind is on... less noble thoughts...
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"Unnnggghhh... Can we decide sometime after I've got my entire soul in my body?"

Tobar looks the woman up and down... Not to my liking and she don't look rich... before asking her "I'm sorry I came to the party a bit late, but... what innit for us?"
She glances down at Tobar. "You would have my eternal gratitude, of course. And the satisfaction of a job well done. I, er, don't have much money, I'm afraid..."
Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3
Rekkstuff leans back. "We are..."
He then puts a hand on his hip. "...But... On the other hand... I AM really pissed. Stupid fruit. And dogs. God, I want to break something."
He pauses, and looks at the woman. "Would I get to break something."

Muttering "But I can't buy any ale with gratitude..." Tobar allows his diminuitive self to be carried along with the will of the others.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon merrily quips, "Worry not, dear Tobar, I'll buy you a night's ales if you help this fair maiden." Jordon flashes a winning smile toward the woman, using the hat of disguise to make himself subtly more handsome.
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"You know," interrupts Victor, "maybe I'm way off base here - being half-alive and all that - but I think I'd like to know what exactly it is this lady wants us to do before we give her an answer."
Male human Soundstriker Bard 4
"Hmmm... That's probably a good idea. I guess being half-dead gives you a different perspective on things."
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon ponders, then says, "That's a good point. What exactly do you want from us?" He asks bluntly to the woman. If she asks for another cage match with a lion, Jordon will have to decline.
"I just want the lot of you to go into the ironworks and try to find my husband. I know he's in there somewhere. Surely that wouldn't be hard for such young, strapping lads like yourselves."

Tobar grumbles something about the fact that he's older than the woman.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon looks to the rest of the group, giving a slight nod to indicate he's willing to accept.
Male human Soundstriker Bard 4
Roger nods as well, ready to get on it.
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"Er... Could we get me patched up a little first? Please?"
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
How much damage?
Jordon motions with his wand, saying, "We can patch you up here and now."
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"I'm really meaning more my soul than my body. I don't feel right..."
I've got two negative levels. That's -10 to max/current HP, and a -2 to all d20 rolls.
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon nods solemnly, contemplating, then while waving his wand in a circle, says, "Ah, this ol' thing can't do much for that, I'm afraid. Mayhaps we should wait a few days for you to recover?"
Male human Soundstriker Bard 4
Roger shrugs. I don't really know much about healing, so I have no clue what to do about it.
Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3
"If the guy's alive now, he'll probably be alive in a couple of days after you've stopped being punched in the soul or whatever." Rekkstuff concludes. "Then we can smash stuff."
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon thinks Rekkstuff's logic (hahaha, barbarian logic, what's that?) is sound, though he asks the woman to confirm, "What he means to say is, do you think your husband can survive a few more days in these ironworks?" He is loathe to have to spend money on one of those uppity, preachy do-gooders in order to mend Victor's soul, though he'll do what he must.
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"Alright lady, let's see if we can find a temple that's open nights, and then we'll see about your husband."
Victor pulls out his coinpurse and turns to his bandmates: "How much do you all have? I've got about 300 gold pieces."
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon grudgingly admits, "Well, if we really have to, I've got 2 centuries for the clerics." he then mutters, "Hoity-toity preachers are always overpriced for what they give. Ya see me chargin' you guys everytime I heal you?"
I asked the question to the woman before because I was reading the rules in the Core Rulebook for negative levels, and not the rules in Bestiary for Energy Drain. Turns out that not all negative levels can become permanent, but these ones can. I would like to redact my previous question.

Grumbling sub-vocally and incoherently Tobar proffers a couple of sizeable gemstones.
Another couple hundred if needed.
Male human Soundstriker Bard 4
I've got 99 gold, mate. Not much, but hopefully it helps.
Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)
That leaves us at 799 total gold. However, we should be able to haggle them down, given that we're a group of bards...
Male Half-Elf Urban Barbarian 1/Archaeologist Bard 3
Rekkstuff shows his remaining 25 gold. "It's my booze and whores money, but... if it helps."

Shuffling slightly on his feet "So do we all like hug now or do we look for a priest?"
Male Human (Varisian) Songhealer Bard 4
Jordon thinks a moment, and says, "Well, if hugging could do the job instead of this priest, why are we all offering our money?" After that he'll go look for a good-aligned temple for Victor.
Elendra leads you through dark alleys to the back door of a small temple. An elf cleric pokes his head out, covered with frizzy white hair and weathered skin, and his gaze falls immediately to Victor. "What do you want?" he asks.
Male Half-elf Unarmed Fighter 1/Bard 4
"The rest of my soul, if you don't mind. Got drained by a wight."
"The Master's boys at it again, eh?" He opens the door and ushers the six of you in. "You got money?"
