Emily runs towards the plaza, finally passing the last of the fleeing civilians. As she runs she peers upward What's going on? I need to get somewhere I can see what's going on. Maybe I can help somehow?
From her vantage point, Emily can see the remains of the wreckage; some of it is still being held aloft by Tesla's gravity ray. Much of the wreckage is either heavier than the beam's power will manage, or it's wedged in a way that makes it resistant to floating away. There are likely spaces underneath the remaining large portions of rubble where people might still be trapped.
Floating in the air are seven ant-men with lasers firing upon the nearby heroes. Five more ants cling to the wreckage at the bottom of the pit and fire upwards.
Technically I think that's just a move action for you, so you're free to move back or take a standard action from here.
Let's see how strong your minds are.
Hijack will send an unnoticeable mental lash of energy to one of the Ant Soldiers on the ground, attempting to ensnare it in his control.
Atticus usurps control of the ant's mind with minimal resistance.
Emily Sheridan aka. "Rift"
Emily concentrates and, once again, the air next to her splits open, its partner opening in the midst of the ant-creatures.
- Using Rift's attack portal power to get as many ants as possible (5ft. radius from a central point)... not sure if this would count as surprise (i.e., if they've noticed her), but if it does, she gets +2 damage for sneak attack. Not totally sure how this works ,... but its a rank 4 area attack which i think mean 2d6 damage (+2 if sneak attack works), with a reflex save of 14 for 1/2?
2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
rando1000
Not totally sure how this works ,... but its a rank 4 area attack which i think mean 2d6 damage (+2 if sneak attack works), with a reflex save of 14 for 1/2?[/ooc]
Sneak Attack Feat would raise it to +6 (Feats can overcome PL limits) so it would be 4d6 when you can pull off Sneak Attack.
Yes, Reflex Save for 1/2 would be normal, assuming they don't have evasion.
2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
So they saved phenominally well, but with the added 2d6 the damage goes up to 15, /2 = 7.

Still at Top of Round:
Initiative:
Tesla: 25
Guardian: 23
Stopwatch: 19
Bridger: 15
Jester: 13
Rift: 11
Hijack: 10
Ant People: 12
It's technically Tesla's action, but anyone else can post their actions (except Rift, who goes after the bad guys).
Theodore Lucas
Good to know .<. I'm going to try something, I'm hoping it'll work. Extra Effort for a temporary power feat, which I'll use for an Alternate Power.
Theodore looks around after he heals the child, and notes that this could... take longer then he'd like. Hm. Perhaps there's a way to get everyone at once... Perhaps if he, yes, that could work, he thought to himself. He fiddled with a watch, as if that would somehow make what he wanted to happen. Deep inside himself however, he temporarily unlocks an aspect of his power.
"Mass time reversal!" He shouts out, suddenly reaching out to reverse the wounds, nicks, and scrapes they've all accumulated.
Same as listed, but -1 PP for lessened effect in exchange for +1 PP Area effect like you sated before.
Power Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
healing: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Axel Black
"Guess it's time to even the odds" he closes his eyes. And grins
"Let's get this circus going!" as he maximises the amount of stunt doubles he could make
"Right my little troup. Lets engage the party crashers"

Tesla discontinues the use of anti-gravity on the ants he had grabbed.
The downward force of gravity is free to re-exert its hold on them now.
sry. been sick. still am.
Reece Wells
A large chunk of rock struck by one of the lasers starts drifting away, revealing another injured woman that Guardian had not sensed. Since the ants' guns did not seem to be powerful enough to penetrate his shield, he concentrates on getting the last person to safety before joining the others in stopping the insects attacks.
use TK to move the last person over to Stopwatch. If necessary: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
rando1000
One of the ants has turned and is attacking the other ants.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) = 9
Then, suddenly, all 7 that had been levitated drop:
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9
So, now all the ants are in the pit again. eight of them have taken 9 HP, while one has taken 7. The remaining 4 are uninjured.
So, Rift's action is coming up,... how bunched up are the ants on the ground vs. those being affected by anti-grav. i.e, The radius in either CC or Ranged is 5 ft.,... which way would she be able to hit more nasties?
The question is now moot. They're all on the ground. You can probably fluster 4 at most.
Ignoring the lasers and ant creatures, Bridger flies back down to the bottom of the collapsed shaft and tears through the rubble in an effort to free more trapped civilians.
Bridger and Guardian each rescue one more injured person under the rubble. Bridger also finds a body that will have to be dealt with after the danger is over.
rando1000
At this point, the 7 ants who fell stand and begin scurrying up the rubble, making it about halfway up.
The other five fire, three at Bridger and two at Guardian:
Bridger
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Combined Attack:2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Only one hit, so the combined attack did no extra damage. However, it does threaten a critical...
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Combined Attack:2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Total damage: A lousy 7. Even with the crit, Bridger shrugs it off Superman style.
Guardian
2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Combined Attack:2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
Both miss Guardian.
Rift's Action
Emily Sheridan aka. "Rift"
In front of Rift a portal rips open the air and she runs into it, appearing through its twin in the centre of the ants. As the portal winks closed behind her she crouches with her hands splayed and stretched towards two of the creatures, small portals ripping the air open and slashing at the insectoids.
I think I've got all this right, but let me know if i don't!
Split Attack (power feat) as 2 rank 5 attacks
Slashing Portals attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 (Attack bonus 3 + Accurate power feat), penetrating
Damage rank 5: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5) = 13
Slashing Portals attack 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 (Attack bonus 3 + Accurate power feat), penetrating
Damage rank 5: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5) = 8
After the attack she will move close to another remaining ant (move-by-action) if she isn't already close to one.. So that her total defence against ranged attacks will be +12 (+3 Defence bonus, + 1 Dodge bonus, -8 to attacks Elusive Target)
rando1000
Rift's first attack hits, downing the ant-man and leaving a total of 11 still up.
The second attack misses the ant in question, disappearing harmlessly after it passes the creature.
Top of round; Tesla's action.
If I missed anyone, please let me know.
Nicola Tesla

Tesla keeps his Gravitons forcing themselves downward on the ants, increasing their natural attraction toward the Earth.
Ants in Area of Effect have their load increased by 800lbs. If this is over their maximum load (i.e. if their strength is less than 20) they may make a Str check vs. DC 15 to take a standard or move action.)
sry. been sick. still am.

Ants Str Check:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
for benefit of the party, I'm going to rule that the ant Atticus is in control of is outside the area
Looks like only 5 of the ants are going to act on their turn.
Atticus Wells
"Everyone doing alright? Super heroes being super and all that? Do keep in mind surpassing the enemy and keeping the populace safe are two separate goals that may be achieved separately at different times."
This message rings in all the other's character's minds that are within range.
"For convenience, I may act as a relay to forward strategy you may wish to use with others....Lets see if I can get a roster of who's here..."
Theodore Lucas
"Amazing! Mental communication, my parent's company has been working on a device capable of replicating that ability and being made available to the public for years! I've never had the chance to experience this myself- Maybe actually experiencing it first hand will provide the inspiration needed to finalize the designs myself? Oh! I'm Stopwatch! Resident gadgeter, currently focused on aspects of time if my hero name isn't evidence enough. I've been up here working to reverse the wounds of those injured in this attack, since my tech isn't fully combat capable just yet."
He'd ramble in within his mind for even longer, but he recognizes that'd perhaps annoy the psychic on the other end.
Reece Wells
Trying to get over his dislike of someone intruding into his mind, Reece thinks "loudly" to Hijack "Guardian here, could you let everyone know to move away from the ants, I'm going to try to knock them out with a gas grenade."
He could prove useful, as long as he doesn't pry into private thoughts. He thinks to himself as he reaches down to grab a loose stone and concentrates. The minerals start to reform and change into a memorized formula that will hopefully affect the large insects as well as their smaller counterparts, encased in a fragile shell.
Matter Manipulation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Knowledge (Technology): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
rando1000
Near as I can tell, Bridger, Stopwatch, and Jester still have actions before the ants this round, and then Rift has one after. I'll wait until this evening and then post the ants' actions. Anyone who missed their action can take it after the ants at that point.
Theodore Lucas
Question, does my quickened recovery time relate to fatigue as well?
Stopwatch stumbles a little, feeling what he imagines as relief or mental exertion, unaware of how his sudden fatigue comes from overextending his powers. "Alright, so-" He cuts off, seeing some more injured come his way. "Ah, seems my jobs not done just yet!"
Power Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Healing: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
Dem heals!
"Mass temporal rewind!" He calls out, rewinding the wounds of everyone nearby even further, likely curing away the internal bleeding he's missed.
"Good as new, as if it never happened in the fist place!" He announces with confidence, before turning towards the gap where the park used to be.
'I'll try to hit the aliens from farther away, do you notice anyone else that needs immediate care before I jump into the fray?'
rando1000
Question, does my quickened recovery time relate to fatigue as well?
Note sure, I'll research it tonight.
Can Bridger see any more people trapped under the rubble (infravision)?
None alive. There are bodies that will need to be dealt with later, but a cleanup crew can probably handle that.
I'm back, let's just say he uses his duplicates to help folks that are trapped. After combat i will be able to post properly again
Once everyone is safe, the Jester hangs out on the sidelines keeping curious onlookers from getting too close to the combat. zone.
On their action, the 5 ants that Tesla has not spiked to the ground attack.
Guardian:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
Bridger
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Rift
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Once again the ants miss pitifully; one tags Bridger, but it doesn't get through his DR.
Rift's action.
Emily Sheridan aka. "Rift"
Rift pauses for a moment as she 'hears' Hijack's ' voice in her head. "Hold on a moment,... You won't know me, I haven't really done this kind of thing before. But you can call me,.. uhh Rift?" her thoughts ring with nervousness about whether her name is any good. I'll be out of here in a moment."
With that she leaps towards a crowd of the creatures and lashes outwards with her hands, towards another group, opening a portal around herself, and in the midst of the others as she lands.
Using Rift's attack portal power to get as many ants as possible with both her ranged portal (5ft. radius from a central point) and the one centred on herself (5ft. radius from her)
*** Far portal: Range: 40; Damage: 2d6; Reflex save DC: 14; Area: 5ft radius
*** Near portal: Range: Touch; Damage: 3d6; Reflex save DC: 14; Area: 5ft radius
The attack made, she spins and opens a portal to he hole's rim and leaps through, letting the portal close behind herself.
Bridger aka Chris Harkness
Bridger flies up and away from Guardian's grenade, then seems to push both of his hands out in front of him, sending a column of super-heated compressed air toward one of the ant monsters.
Ranged Blast attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 2 = 12
Ranged Blast damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Bridger, fight now, talk later
Nicola Tesla

'And I am Tesla. Yes, -the- Tesla. This city has an atmosphere with some unique radioscopic properties. And hot dogs.'
rando1000
*** Far portal: Range: 40; Damage: 2d6; Reflex save DC: 14; Area: 5ft radius
*** Near portal: Range: Touch; Damage: 3d6; Reflex save DC: 14; Area: 5ft radius
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1) = 91d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2) = 13
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) = 11
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
A lot of half damage, but...Rift manages to drop 2 that were already injured.
That leaves 9 standing, one of which is controlled by Atticus.
Of those 9, 5 are currently pressed to the ground by Tesla's gravity increase.
Hijack's action at 10. I'm going to switch the controlled ant to the same initiative. So Hijack can continue to maintain his hold on the ant and attack (1d20 + 3) or take another action.
Atticus Wells
Until I get this array business sorted out, Atticus is pretty much on two default actions. He attempts to retain control. If successful, his subject attacks. If not successful, he attempts to mind control a different ant.
Mind Control: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
If allowed another action to try and control another if that fails...
Mind Control: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
rando1000
Hijack doesn't need to roll to maintain the power, he just needs to spend a standard action concentrating on the control. If something happens (you get attacked, something distracts you, etc), you'll need to make a Concentration check to maintain control, but only when I ask for it. Otherwise, as long as you don't stop spending the standard action, you'll maintain control automatically.
The ant under Hijack's control fires on another of his friends.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Another ant drops, leaving 8 standing (one of which is controlled by Hijack, 5 others held down by Tesla).
Initiative order:
Tesla: 25
Guardian: 23
Stopwatch: 19
Bridger: 15
Jester: 13
ant people: 12
Rift: 11
Hijack: 10
Top of round. everyone in the upper group may post their actions.
Theodore Lucas
Stopwatch moves away from the civilian's he's been healing, content that the odd jesters who suddenly appeared will help keep them out of the fray and from getting even more injured. "Oh man, those guys are ugly!" He comments out loud, upon catching sight of them. Normally he'd be against using a power like this against people, but these things did not seem like any people he knew of. He holds out his right hand, the other grasped on it's watch. "Fast forward, timeline execution!"
Attack check, fatigued: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 - 1 = 22
2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
Oh man! A crit! yes yes, this is perfect.
Instead of being aged like one would expect, the creature instead proceeds to receive wounds it could've accumulated in the future, all at once. There is a reason he avoids using this on others.
Reece Wells
Once his allies are out of the way, Guardian throws the grenade as close to the center of the group of ants as he can. The shell cracks, billowing forth a large cloud of noxious gas which hangs suspended in the air for a few moments before slowly settling back down to the bottom of the pit.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
As sleep gas grenade, Fort DC 15 or all with a 40ft radius are fatigued. If they fail by 5, they are exhausted; fail by 10 they are asleep.
Theodore Lucas
Forgot, the ant man needs to make a DC 14 fort save or take -4 to his toughness as well, then needs to make a toughness save against Stopwatch's damage rank... which is I guess the damage dealt now? So 9 or 14, failing by twenty atomizes them apparently. What fun! And also oddly compliciated.
rando1000
The ant fast-forwarded by Stop-watch collapses in death (I'm basically doubling the 2d6 damage; in the future, if you crit, just roll 4d6).
Guardian aims his grenade carefully to avoid hitting Rift.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Two of the remaining 7 ants not controlled by Hijack fall asleep, leaving 5 opponents up and about (3 of which are suppressed by Tesla's gravity increase effect).
rando1000
Tesla and Jester may act at any point.
Meanwhile, the 2 ant people capable of acting fire their energy weapons.
On Bridger:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
On Guardian:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
Total miss.
Rift and Hijack may act while we're waiting for Tesla and Jester.
