Rich, mysterious sponsor...

Everyone goes to the location their contact described.

"Where is he, the guy that want's to sponsor us?"

Stopwatch jumps out of line, "It's me, I'm the rich mysterious sponsor!"

There has to be a defined reason that we decide to stick together. Something like a rich, mysterious sponsor that see's our combined talents as useful for his purposes.

Well, story-wise, the press is BOUND to see you as a team even though you're not at this point. If you came up with a name I could just have them use that on the news or the internet and bam! everyone now thinks of you as that group. Even if you don't always work together, eventually, you'd become a team just because that's what everyone thinks and because you grow to lean on each other's abilities.

For example, you could skip the idea entirely for now, and then a few days after the incident, you could see an article called "Unexpected Heroes Defeat Ant Invasion!" And one of you could go "Hey, 'Unexpected'! That's not bad..." Or some such.

I can only hope that Tesla dosn't start getting hot and bothered once pigeons come into the scene... Great man, that Tesla, but also extremely weird. Aside thing, Atlas, I don't actually note "Immunity: Aging" as a listed power. Am I just not seeing it?

Teehee. Ya, I'm really trying to get into character playing off his brilliance and insanity eccentricness. =)

Page 89. The first example for Immunity is "Aging". Egad, without immortal heroes and villains we wouldn't have any. Superman would be an old-folks by now and Apocalpyse would've died in ancient Egypt and we would'nt have yet another AWESOME marvel movie coming out! =)

Srsly, what does it say that I couldn't be dragged (drug?) to a theater to see the meandering confusion of BvS(DoJ) but I get a tingle in my special spots just by the one second at 2:27 of that trailer? =p

Inactive

Gotta love the aging immunity power. And ye, I was aware of it (Theodore has it himself, but he dosn't realize that), I just hadn't noticed it on your profile until just a few seconds ago.

As well, I have no idea what that acronym is, and have no idea what things may or may not be said about those feelings. Perhaps check with a doctor.

I'm one of the ones who actually loved Batman V Superman. In fact, I'd have to say it's my favorite movie of any I've ever seen. It certainly had more effect on me; I couldn't even speak for like 10 minutes after the movie, just trying to digest what I'd just experienced.

Alternate name for our group: The Try-Hard Diplomats.

If we've earned any PP from that, I think I might hold off on power advancing to purchase an HQ using the equipment feat. Any opinions there?

Oh my yes I'm in favor of an HQ!

One thing that always goes well is some kind of Infirmary, or some way to help heal after missions. (While we do have access to PC healing, if they all get taken out, they'll want some way to come back.)

The rules are kind of ambiguous about what bonus the "Infirmatry" provides, so I have a suggestion:

Infirmary: The Infirmary is equipped with a hot tub. Immersion in the hot tub grants a character +1 rank of Regeneration due to the healing nature of hot tubs.

Well? =)

Pf, nice.

I think I'd be willing to use all 3 PP that I earned for it, but I've read that it's possible to pool equipment points into one HQ if the heros so wished. Is anyone willing to participate in such a thing? We can even work out the details for what this place is like here. My idea was a decommissioned lab owned by his family, that's just been sitting around unused.

Male Mutant PL 6/86 pts, DR: 10, HP: 7/30, Fort: +2, Refl: +3, Will: +6, Notice +7, Hero Points: 1

Sure, I'll throw 1pp into HQ.

So, 4pps in equipment would give us 20pts to build the base.

It starts at size small, 2pts would make it Large, the size of a mansion. Toughness starts at 5 (wood), so we would probably want to bump it up to 10 (concrete/steel) for another 1pt.

That leaves us with 17 pts to add features:

Communications, Computer, Concealed, Fire Prevention System, Garage, Gym, Infirmary, Laboratory, Library, Living Space, Pool, Power System, Security System, Workshop

would all be good to have. Maybe Dock if it's near the water?

Just throwing out some ideas, does anyone else have anything they would like to have?

Inactive

Right! I'll start stating for 20 EP HQ, and if others get in on this, perhaps I'll fluctuate my own input some as well, so I might be able to upgrade a little myself. We'll see!

Decommissioned Lucatech Lab Facility
Size: Large; Underground complex 2pts
Toughness: 15; Super-alloy walls 2pt
Features: Computer, Concealed, Communications, Fire Prevention System, Infirmary, Laboratory, Power System, Security System, Worskshop, Gym, Garage, Pool, Living Space, Library 14pts

That's 18/20 pts. so far. There are rivers in the area, but I'm not sure it warrants a proper dock just yet. I'm thinking a defense system may also be optimal.

Yes. There's approximately a 100% chance that it will be invaded at some point. =)

HP: 13/30

Happy to donate to the cause!

Male Human Tough: +0/+0 Fort: +0, Ref: +0, Will: +0

I would t mind helping out the base. I think I'm going to use one or two points to add to my power array though.

Also, should we just post blurbs that help establish our characters and their lives, or is it a role play response thing.

Inactive

Alright, rad! That's at least one point from four of us then for a nice 20EP total, thanks folks. Adding in a defense system as well (Is that something that needs customized in depth?), that leaves us with one spare point, so up in the air what it should go to. We should be good to go with just that, but if Tesla wants to chip in as well that can probably go to something we're lack, or improving what's there.

And I'd be game for whatever, there.

Male Mutant PL 6/86 pts, DR: 10, HP: 7/30, Fort: +2, Refl: +3, Will: +6, Notice +7, Hero Points: 1

We could put the last point into beefing up the Security System, making it a DC 25 check to disable it.

Now that's awesome, this'll be one heck of a base then. Ahem;

Decommissioned Lucatech Lab Facility / Real name to be determined.
Size: Large; Underground complex 2pts
Toughness: 20; Double-thick Titanium Walls 3pt
Features: Computer, Concealed 2 (DC 25), Communications, Fire Prevention System, Infirmary, Laboratory, Power System, Security System 2 (DC 25), Worskshop, Gym, Garage, Pool, Living Space, Library, Defense System, Hangar, Holding Cells 2 (Nullify, Toughness 30), 20pts

Any suggestions or changes do you think should be made?

Assuming you're talking about subplot here, I had envisioned role play, but feel free to narrate if you wish. That works too.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

If Bridger, Tesla and Rift are interested in subplots, message me your ideas. If you don't have any ideas, let me know and I'll come up with something based on what I know about your characters.

Male Mutant PL 6/86 pts, DR: 10, HP: 7/30, Fort: +2, Refl: +3, Will: +6, Notice +7, Hero Points: 1

Has anyone heard from Haldhin? There haven't been any posts from Bridger since May 4.

Reece Wells wrote:

I have not. I'll check in and see if he's still interested. On a side note, we've lost Jester, who felt posts were happening a bit too fast for him to keep up. Fortunately, we started with such a decent number of players that a couple losses won't kill us (not that I wanted to see him/them go, but it stinks when you have just enough players and lose one or two; that's not the case here).

EDIT: Messaged Bridger.

Male Mutant PL 6/86 pts, DR: 10, HP: 7/30, Fort: +2, Refl: +3, Will: +6, Notice +7, Hero Points: 1

Can I assume that Reece would have a braille keyboard and screen reader for his laptop computer or is that something he would have to buy? If so, what would be the Wealth check DC for that?

Male Mutant PL 6/86 pts, DR: 10, HP: 7/30, Fort: +2, Refl: +3, Will: +6, Notice +7, Hero Points: 1

Scratch that, he wouldn't need the Braille keyboard, just the screen reader.

I have spent the 3pp: +1 to Ranged Attack, +4 Skill points (1 computer, 2 Know (technology), 1 Notice), +1 Device (Headquarters).

No need to buy, that's a normal item. you're good.

You waiting on something from me and Rift, Rando?

Edit: Ah nevermind, we just posted near the same time. Sorry!

FYI, hitting the road this weekend, you probably won't see much of me between now and Saturday night at earliest.

Sorry to get behind. Yesterday was nuts. I'll get caught up today or this evening.

Have there been any mention in the papers of what the public seems to be calling us? I suppose we wouldn't necessarily have to take the name, but it could be something to know.

Interesting idea. Superman got his name that way. I'll explore it some more in the next adventure, which will be starting soon after the subplots are done.

Male Human (Polish Jew/Native American/Irish) Techie 7/Martial Artist 2

Have you all decided on a location for your decommissioned lab turned HQ? If not, I'd like to suggest North St Louis. There is a lot of old industrial and housing there that is in decay; IRL, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has agreed to build a large facility there in the near future; in our campaign world, we can assume that has not happened, and that the same or nearby area is the location of the lab. It would put you close to downtown and give quick access to a lot of potential adventure locales.

Inactive

I don't particularly mind, myself. Being concealed, it likely has something up top that disguises it's real purpose. Old warehouse, perhaps?

How's dead factory?

Inactive

An abandoned factory, you mean? You know, that could work actually. A factory from a company owned by Lucatch, but underneath was actually a secret research lab. I could certainly imagine that working, but I'd like to her other's opinions.

Male Human Tough: +0/+0 Fort: +0, Ref: +0, Will: +0

Sounds great to me. Atticus isn't too picky, but he insists on climate controlled and clean. Also a private room if possible.

Concur. I claim the basement.

HP: 13/30

I claim the pool :)

Pft. Technically, most of the base is the basement. There should however, be plenty of living areas available. This'll be really fun, I can't wait.

Sounds good! Reece will be sure to find a gourmet chef for meals. How are we going to handle staff? Have Rift open portals to bring them in and out every day? Drive them in blindfolded? Or are we supposed to do everything around the HQ ourselves?
