Rogzul the Whisperer |
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 Figures .
As the story ends Rog finds all eyes on him. He throws one fist in the air and roars triumphantly as Kashag lands on his shoulder and let's out a screech. He hopes the crowd takes it for the praise it's meant to be.

With the earlier check succeeded, it's a success!
The village elder whispers something in Teyma's ear. She nods and walks over to the Pathfinders. "The elders have been moved by your words. It is good to hear that not all outsiders are here to defile our history. Chief Hiryla plans to run out the remaining defilers around the Keep today. You may approach one of the entrances we found and deal with any defilers there."
The bones of two ancient stone watchtowers rise from the ground like sentries set to guard the entrance to Ranulf’s Keep. Snow and ice still cover their base, making them inaccessible, but they mark the edge of the Huscarl’s Keep, just visible in the distance. The Snowmask clan splits their forces to surround the keep, and Chief Hiryla nods at you as he runs to the frontline. "Good luck."
A dark-skinned figure swathed in the orange and blue of a desert sky at sunset, strides defiantly forward. Her outline shivers with the heat emanating from the flaming greataxe in her hands. As snow swirls on the wind around her, snow flakes hiss and shriek as they fall on the blade’s open flame. “Come Pathfinders,” she invites in a honeyed tone, as her companions draw their weapons. “Let Jedrek’s Shard warm you against the cold.”
"I get it! Warm them up with your axe!"
"Yes, that's the joke, idiot."
"Yay. That's why I lived for so long!"
The remaining Shadow Lodge agents seem to be all Brawn and no Brains.

Theadric, hovering over the battlefield on his flying mount, considers his options. Still too far away to charge in, he circles around to the left, draws his longbow, and fires a shot at the woman.
"You think having a nice sword is going to make you as powerful as the man who once used it? I don't think so! Plus, I could just shoot arrows at you all day long!"
To make his point, the halfling fires his shot expertly, the arrow penetrating her shoulder painfully.
fly check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
MW longbow (small): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 If the woman is human, add +2 on my attack and +2 dmg
CRIT?: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 242d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13 If crit confirms, 21 dmg total, 27 if she is human.
Rimble Sliffer |
@Rogzul?
Rogzul the Whisperer |
Rogzul moves up far enough to cast a hex on Vires, increasing his combat abilities for the fight to come.
Fury (Su): A shaman incites a creature within 30 feet into a primal fury. The target receives a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls and a +2 resistance bonus on saving throws against fear for a number of rounds equal to the shaman's Wisdom modifier. (4 rounds)
GM Zinou |
As Vires, Angus and Fang move forward, Rogzul makes Vires more ferocious. Seeker tries to fly but can't take his flight and stays on the ground. Theadric, however, manages to fire a bolt in the leader's head who falls on the ground, dead. Afraid of your prowess (and mostly because they are cowards), the Shadow Lodge agents throw their bows on the ground, holding their hands in the air.
End of the fight! Well... That was fast.
With Melkorka's defeat, the Shadow Lodge's efforts in the north are in shambles and have suffered a serious blow.
The only question left is: What to do about Jerdek's Shard?
Seytiko |
Wow, that was fast.
- Comrades, I think we should take the shard with us to keep it safe from jokers like this. Rogzul, do you think we would be able to talk the elder into parting with the relic?
Rimble Sliffer |
"Wow, nice shot Theadric!"
Rimble just smokes his pipe, while the others decide what to do with the shard.
I already played this in the CORE mode, so, I think it will be more interesting let you say what will we do with the shard. :)
Theadric Greyhood |
Theadric smiles, surprising even himself with his shot.
"Maybe I need to add some trick shots to my stunt show!" he exclaims.
After discussing what to do with the shard, he says "Maybe we should ask the tribe what they want to do with it. They didn't protect it all that well. We either need to bury it under that keep better, or take it to the Pathfinders for safe-keeping."
Rimble Sliffer |
Judging by the reaction of the tribe members when he suggested them to leave there with the shard, Rimble changed his mind.
"Theadric is right. Let's return the shard to his true caregivers and get out of here as soon as possible. Antoniollus' feathers are already freezing with this cold."
Rogzul the Whisperer |
"We bring it back." Says Rogzul, looking to see who might argue with him. "The society will keep it safe." He does not add that it will likely further the goals of the Dark Archive as well.
Vires Sangre |
sorry life
"hmm, might be safest to just destroy it but that not our job is it take it to the guild let them deal with it"

Rogzul the Whisperer |
From my understanding theadric did not want to give it back
Angus Hammersmith |
Angus studies the situation by scratching his arse vigorously. "JUSTASWORD. NOTHINGSPECIAL. NOREASONFORZARTATOPICKATIT. LEGENDFORTHEM. FLAMINGSWORDFORUS. NOGAINTOBEHAD." He punctuates this by pulling out a hunk of dried meat and tossing it to Fang. Then he looks thoughtful. "MIGHTCOMEBACKHERESOMEDAY. GOODWILLISBETTERTHANFLAMINGSWORDSTEALING."
Rogzul the Whisperer |
"The dwarf does not know an axe from a sword. Do not take his advice." Says Rogzul grunting. "They are not strong enough to protect it, we have proven ourselves, it is ours to take."
Theadric Greyhood |
"Maybe we should ask the tribe what they want to do with it. They didn't protect it all that well. We either need to bury it under that keep better, or take it to the Pathfinders for safe-keeping."
I'm advocating talking to the tribe about the options to better protect it.
Theadric Greyhood |
Sorry, I thought I've said we should ask the tribe what they thought we should do with it. If they want to keep protecting it, I'd leave it to the tribe.
Vires Sangre |
I'm good with that

GM Zinou |
The tribe will do all they can to protect it. If you talk to them, they'll say that it shall never happen again. But that the sword is theirs, not yours.
They indeed want to keep the sword and protect it. As I have 4 people to give the weapon back and 2 to keep it, I assume you'll give it back. Sorry Rogzul and Seytiko.
You return Jerdek's Shard to the Snowmask clan. They are quite grateful for what you have done. They no longer consider you outsiders, but instead consider you Snowmask Brothers and Snowmask Sisters.
As part of the ritual to induct you into the clan, you are dunked into ice cold water, blessed by the tribe elders. For a moment, your skin turns white and you are freezing. Then your skin returns to normal and it's not cold anymore. In fact, you feel fine. The Snowmask tribe shouts in celebration! Their new honorary villagers are truly home!
Aaaaaaand that's the End! Congrats!
