You are right Amos, there are, in fact, two ballistas. Since it says to handwave the ship-to-ship in that encounter, I didn't even fully read it. Just went and reread it and I see two ballistas listed on the sterncastle. During the squibbing, those can be moved to any appropriate area.

If we get some downtime while sailing, I'd like to craft some alchemical cartridges. Would you be happy to hand-wave it and say that Aramis was able to buy supplies for such a thing, and I'll just cross off gold for what I actually craft?
Also, if possible, I'd like to say that she found someone who could re-fit her 'borrowed' coat. :P
(Also, weapons are good.)

Snags, splat, cob, potato bake, lamb chops, pavlova... And as my own special treat to myself, Black Russians! BBQ day is pretty fantastic. :D I'll post from my food coma later, then let's get the asps!

Aramis Steele |

Snags = sausages (usually specifically barbecued sausages)
Splat (or hamburger splat) = beef mince, chopped onions, grated carrot, and whatever tastiness you desire mixed together in a huge bowl, usually with flour to help it hold together. You grab a handful, form it into a patty, and 'splat' it on the BBQ.
Cob = a big, roughly dome-shaped crusty bread loaf. You hollow it out and fill it with a sour cream and chopped spinach dip, then eat it with the bread you hollowed out of it.
Potato bake = chopped boiled potatoes, bacon pieces, and a sauce made from cream and French onion soup mix, in a deep dish, baked in the oven until the potatoes go golden.
Lamb chops = lamb chops.
Pavlova = a dessert consisting of a meringue base, topped with cream and fresh fruit (usually passionfruit, kiwi fruit, strawberries, and banana).
Black Russian = a cocktail consisting of a shot of vodka, a shot of Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur) and topped with cola.
The most essential components to any Australian BBQ are sausages, and beer. Lots and LOTS of beer.

Anything but Fosters. Pale ales and golden ales seem to be the most popular, what with the typical Australia dry heat. You typically buy a couple of cartons if you're hosting the Australia Day BBQ.

Ok, checking in with the players real quick.
First off, I'm pretty happy with the pacing of things since the new recruits joined up. I hope you folks agree.
Second, we are reaching a point in the book where it can be very, very tedious. So, I want to pose a question for the group: How much ship to ship combat and little acts of piracy do you wish to put time into playing out?
I offer you a couple of options: we can play out each and every combat and hand wave the clean-up with you telling me exactly what you want to do with each ship OR I can work on a timeline and you can tell me how much time you wish to spend on piracy. I won't give you the ACTUAL timeline, I'll keep that to myself and you can expend time as you see fit.
Let me know what you think and if you have any comments(positive or negative), feel free to send me a message. Also, I haven't forgotten Christmas presents, like I said before...you get them in due time. Several have gone out, though!
Indrana, yours is coming soon...got a new book to meander through to get you.
Cassius, not going to lie...I'm waiting for next month's companion before I make a decision on yours.

I'm personally okay with hitting the highlights of our time with piracy, if only for helping us get over some of the more tedious bits here and there. I like to think of myself as easy going, so I'm okay with either option! Whatever the group majority is, Cassius will follow!
No worries about the Christmas thing! :) It will come when it comes!

Dealing with the sailing and piracy thing, from what I have read of other campaigns, it is wise to gloss over most of it as it slow things down way too much to do all of it. That being said, I wouldn't mind doing some of it or finding a way to condense the chase scenes in some way. It's a lot easier to do this part at a table top than on a message board I imagine.
Let me guess Hills, the familiar folio?

Maera |

I have always liked the 'R' part most of RPG, so if there are any ships that seem appropriate for us to interact with for story purposes, obviously include those. Otherwise, I'm good with skipping the finer details of piracy in favor of plot.

At the moment, I would say that she is probably on the other ship, as she is seen as less of a worry than much of the crew. But she is watching how things are handled. I assume one of the captains (probably Sandara for ease of play) is on the other ship, along with several of the officers that aren't PCs.

GM Hills |

It is largely dependent on what is decided to be done with the incoming ship money. Presuming you take the money that was received via piracy and put it back into the ship, then there will be very little money to split among the PCs, as most of the loot was claimed. IF the officers decide to liquidate some of the loot, then it will depend on how much they liquidate. I will say that as it stands the liquid assets of the ship and the cargo is ROUGHLY 7k, 1k of which should go immediately to paying the crew, beyond that...well...that is yalls call.

GM Hills |

I don't think the weather is helping anything here. I know Maera is planning to post today, which I will just go from there, if we don't see anyone else post and I'll start throwing up posts all over the place.
I won't lie...Bones 2 (reaper Kickstarter) came in on Monday night and has DEFINITELY distracted me a little, but I can paint with the computer at my side, so it won't stop me.

Heh. I hadn't really considered anything. I just figured everyone was a little busy over the long weekend and had a bunch of things on the go!
As for the game and money spending, the only thing I would suggest is maybe stocking everyone up (and the ship?) with a dose of consumables Potions/wands. Just stuff like Cure Light wounds and whatever other fiddly bits needed just in case we're in a bind.

My mum and I just walked out on my stepfather and have been staying in a motel. It's been messing with me a little. Apologies for the silence.
