Seeing the captain turn his back, Dmitri shouts a challenge to him, rushing across the yard and taking a swing at the captain in the same motion as the draw of the sword, his other hand also making it to the blade mid-swing to add power to the strike...
... though he appears to be distracted by his fighting companion already in the dust, bleeding through the stab wound from the rapier.
Leaning forward as he sees Brian fall, Justin's eyes widen as he realizes just how powerfully graceful this man is. Cupping his hands to his mouth, the rogue calls out encouragement to Dmitri, "C'mon, Kendo-sensei!! Give this guy the what-for!! Show him why you're called Wonder Sword!!"
Clenching his fists and biting his lip, he finds himself anxious as the samurai makes his attack. Yeah - get him! You can do it!!
The captain, hears the challenge shout and the running footsteps, as a free action he calls out, "Honorable Sword Saint, I accept!". Turning on his heel, he brings his buckler to bear...
After successfully parrying the excellent attack by the Sword Saint, he brings his needle like sword in for an attack against the unwary Samurai...
Stabbing deftly into the leather armor of the samurai, piercing deep.

Pierced and bleeding, Dmitri nonetheless raises his sword for another swing, determined to get at least one hit on the man before he falls or yields.
Spending a panache point, the springy, dancing fighter, swings his arms in sweeping motion to parry the incoming attack...
Dashing the attack to the side in response, bringing his thin sword in as am an immediate action to attack the victim of his lithe parry...
Missing the attacker...
Taking his turn, he brings in his sword for a standard action attack...
Missing once again.
As a free action, he curses his own excess joviality and says, "You are providing me quite a thrill young man. Let's see what you have for me.
Grimacing behind his mask, Dmitri takes only a brief moment to nod at the captain before taking another swing. He sure didn't feel he was offering much of a challenge, though between the captain's overconfidence just now and barely effective doges, he feels like perhaps he does have a chance at hitting this man, just once...
... and curses that he was thinking and wishing rather than aiming and swinging.
Only quick enough now to simply parry this attack before he takes his turn. Swinging his buckler in to parry...
Smirking as he knocks the attack away with ease. Coming in for his standard attack...
Feeling like he is barely eeking past his own rustiness, he strikes deep into the chest of the samurai...
Loving every moment of this battle.
The man sighs, arms crossed. "This has gone about as well as I would've expected. The oaf fell within the first few seconds, and now even our fairest samurai is at risk. I at least hope that Herr White is at least stable... It is hard to tell from here."

The last stab from the captain causes Dmitri to buckle, barely keeping his balance, his armor suddenly much heavier than it had any right to be. Dmitri calls upon his last reserves of strength to stand back up, ready his stance, and make one final strike at the man before him...
Reeling with tension, Justin grabs onto Jerimiah's arm and watches the combatants as if everything was in slo-motion, and says, "Oh my God, he may actually get him!"
He titters under Justin's grab, but he admittedly becomes to wrapped up in this single strike to care much for personal security. "Mein gott, what form!"
With his free hand, he reaches back and searches for another arm to latch on to and finds Toby. Pulling her into their cling-fest, he feels as if they are watching their favourite sports team going into Overtime at a championship game as he whispers, "Indeed... The only thing we're missing now is chips..."
The parry attempt from the captain to stave off the possibly deeply slashing blow, he brings his buckler about, swinging at the adept strike...
Coming in with his blade for his own repost in response to the attack being swiftly knocked aside...
Ignoring the option for vital organ puncture (forfeiting the critical threat) he strikes the man deep into his already wounded chest, digging his blade in for the last damage...
Downing his opponent.
Realizing the summoner did not hand off the wand to another magic user, he calls for another wand, ordering his own magic user to expend all needed charges for these valiant warriors immediately.

The mage then hands the wand to Brian, bowing respectfully.
The Captain also bows, "I am Captain Lithganar Tinvaak, at your service. You all are true warriors! You did not back down even when the fight was long lost. You are worthy of all the respect and honor I can grant you. I would be honored if you would go with Jaarn in his new duty. Show him the honorable way of the warrior you posses, the lithe viper attack you have at your polearm. You are most welcome to return any time you wish as my guest to this city! You have honored my request, even while rusty I provided a challenge did I not? Come to me again when you have experienced more battle. I long for another fight! I'll see you all after your return...unless you have questions for me before you depart?"
Jerimiah spits to the side right after the fight's end, and before the healing, disappointed with the outcome. "So much for a fair fight. Come, let's go make sure they aren't dead." He'd arrive around when the wand of magic eraser starts getting used.
Yes, you most certainly gave us a workout, but I got you once, Dmitri chuckles, and then winces, the punctures still sore despite the healing, I believe that I must meditate after this battle, think on what I have learned here. Clearly I still have much of that to do.
Throwing his hands into the before latching them around the backs of his comrades, Justin begins whooping and hollering with glee as he shouts, "HE HIT!! HE HIT!!! DMITRI CONNECTED!!"
With a wide grin, the rogue rushes over to his comrade and makes sure he's okay, reaffirming to the samurai, "You fought splendidly, buddy! You actually managed to get a hit in! Are you okay though - did the stick heal you right? You're not going blind are you? We gotta make sure Brian's okay too - he got the short end of that dagger, if you know what I mean.." Stepping over to the summoner, he nudges the unconscious player's chest and energetically says, "Dude, Brian! Wake up - you totally missed it!"
Satisfied that his friends weren't killed in the ordeal, he looks to the captain and asks, "I do have a question.. Do you know if there have ever been any druids in these parts? I have heard rumour that some used to be settled around here.."
"Well, when we found this area, there were some encampments here. We stayed from them to not disturb. As we began to clear a little of the forest, they vacated eastward. They might be whom you seek. I'm not sure, to be honest."
"Why even come to this forest?"

Yes yes, don't worry Justin, it's just a little sore is all, Dmitri says with another small chuckle, noticeably more restrained from the last one. It's strange, the wound is healed, but I'm not sure my body completely realizes the fact. He pauses thoughtfully before continuing, I may have to come back and study under this man, if there is time and he will take me. But there will be time for that later, we have a mission at the moment.
Nodding his head with an accepting expression, Justin removed the blank book from his backpack and quickly took note of Captain's information, adding a note to the side titling it, Mystery of the Disappearing Druids. Getting this new lead on the druids and recording it in his log has Justin feeling like a real Investigator. As if he's played this role before...
"Okay - thanks for the information! Every bit helps solve the mystery! We'll see you again sometime in the future - I look forward to sparring with you myself!" Raising his fist into the air, he smiles at the captain hoping that he can work him over himself one day.
Giving the captain a salute, he turns back towards his friends and awaits their next move while trying to wake Brian up.
"It sounds like you're experiencing 'Phantom Pain.' Where the body remembers the pain even after the limb is gone.. Except yours is remembering the wound even after it's healed. I'm sure it'll pass, but I'm not expert.. We'll get you an intoxicating drink when this is over - I'm sure that'll help!" He says to Dmitri as he kneels next to Brian. "I'm not sure any of us really could even lift him to be honest," he look to Jerimiah with a shrug. "Too bad we don't have any permanent markers or coal.. We could draw on his face and make him look ridiculous!"
Jeremiah glances back, "I am not carrying him."
Lanx notices the dilemma the group was in with their comrade down still, even after being healed. He steps up and picks him up easily, offering to take him along himself. "We should carry on and I'll carry him."

Brian's eyes flutter open. He leans heavily on his spear and stumbles his way first to his knees, then to his feet. He stares about groggily, consciousness slowly dawning on him. He passively processes the conversation, but, truthfully, he cares not a whit for the words. Slowly his eyes focus on the Captain and he is consumed by rage without peer. That he was so dishonorably slain by...by...by an NPC.
This can not stand.
Calmly, slowly, he says, "Best two out of three, Captain? And since I allowed you the first strike last time, would you allow me the first strike this time?"
Brian walks back out to the circle and takes a ready stance. For some reason he asks wind, quite softly.
"Do you know what they call a bunch of crows?"
The captain looks at Brian quizzically, "What do you mean by that?" Recalling his request, he asks the mage for some healing to remove the slashing wound from the agile samurai's strike. Upon completion of the healing, he adds, "If you wish another fight, I will gladly oblige. Do know, I am a little less rusty. Would you like one of your comrades to join you against me? You most certainly may."
Seeing Brian readying himself for another duel, TD rises to his feet and readies his dagger-knife. Giving his comrade a knowing-nod, he says loudly enough that the captain can hear him, "What do you say we give this'un the old 'wang-dang, playah makah', eh? I'm going to try and disarm him!"
Justin steps to the right of Brian and stares at the captain with steady, unblinking eyes as he adjusts his grip on the dagger. "We'll move on Brian's mark," he speaks in a low, calm voice before breathing in a deep breath and letting it out as a calming sigh. "This one's for Dmitri..."

Brian's face is chiseled marble. With eyes cold as frozen sapphires he stands like a statue 15' away from the once-victorious Captain. He raises both hands and gives the Sign of the Hammer. It is sacred to Propoket, and Propoket accepts only victory when it's used.
With cold, clear words, his voice rings out,
In front of the Captain three golden eagles appear, their faces perfect forms of hate and violence. They each screech in odious concert and rain down their blows with force of STEEL.
Easily dodging the first two attacks from the eagle, readying a parry for the sharp talons...
Catching the dangerous eagles claws with his buckler and sweeping them away.
Just as the second surprise eagle attacks, mostly deftly, twice, but misses with one of its claws...
Turning to knock aside the beak of the new bird, and coming around again...
Knocking away the sharp talon attack with a deft swing of his small knuckle shield...
The third eagle misses with its beak and one of its claws as Lithganar attempts to knock away the dangerous claws...
Finally knocking into the last attack from the birds that appeared against him, glad he had a good fight earlier to wake up his lithe fighting dance steps.
As swiftly as the attack is knocked away, he offers a repost against the summoned beast...
Stabbing the avian deeply with his needle sword.

Readying his own regular attack as well against the second golden colored attacker...
Stabbing the eye of the bird as his attack connects killing his second attacker outright.
"Excellent attack, young man...excellent!"
Running out of the birds attack range toward it's summoner with his dancing fighter style steps and weaving his way into the middle of attack area of the summoner to land in front of him.

Missing every attempt from the attackers and landing directly in front of the spear weilder.
Keenly keeping his eye on the fencer, Justin slowly circles around to come from behind Lithganar before adjusting his grip on his dagger. Stepping in to strike, the rogue takes a deep breath and tries for the most practiced strike he can against the flanked foe.

Hearing the approach of the lithe striker, he turns to knock the attack away...
Catching the small blade on his buckler, turning it away, hoping that is where he gains back the advantage.
"Ah, a good strong hit. Seems they're off to a good start." He mumbles from the sidelines, likely along with Toby and Dmitri. Speckles looks on at the fight in wonder. He frowns, senseing her feelings of want and longing, as if she wanted to be part of the fight as well.

Joey's rolls leaking through...
