Round 7 Final
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 14 Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 65
The two dretches tear at Tina as Kel tries his best to help block their blows. The dretch in the maze catches Kel as he steps in the way of its attack, but Kel manages to successfully fend off a swipe from the dretch behind Tina. However, the newly summoned dretch is still able to sink his teeth and claws into the young woman.
Kel took Dretch2's claw attack, successfully blocked one of Dretch3's claws, and Dretch3's other claw and bite landed on Tina. Kel took 2 damage after DR, Tina took 7.
Max moves up the hallway and readies his crossbow with a cold iron bolt.
Aravashnial hobbles back toward the fight.
Kel drops into a defensive stance and makes a fighting retreat, but he's unable to hit the enemy as he goes.
Deia moves back towards the doorway.

Nope, you're not at -1. Kel saved you with Bodyguard/In Harm's Way. Instead of taking all of those attacks, you only took 2 of them and only took a total of 7 damage. Your total damage taken through everything so far is only 12, and is reflected in the most recent tracking section, so you're still at 4hp.
I know it's been a confusing round, but I tried to explain things in Discussion.

Round 8
Deia runs back through the noxious cloud and takes cover between the rest of her compatriots. "Watch out, I'm coming through!" she yells.
Move action: W, W, S
fort save, dc13: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Deia should manage to get any more nauseated by running back through the cloud.

Round 8!
Rex shakes off the last effects of the poison cloud, gripping his morningstar,"Hold the line Kel, I'm coming."
Rex charges forward at the farthest demon to the north, he swings his weapon with gusto.

Round 8 Update!
Rex, you don't have a clear charge lane, so you can't charge, but you can still move out there and attack.
Rex moves back into the cloud in an attempt to help Kel. He swings his morningstar hard, but only swishes it through the gas cloud.
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 13
Tina retreats after the mauling she took.
Lann leans against the cavern wall, trying to get over the stench.
The gas cloud dissipates as the slightly wounded dretch scrabbles all over Kel in a futile fashion.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Claw1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Claw2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
The summoned dretch tears savagely at Rex, sinking its claws deeply into him.

Round 8
"I have this potion of cure light wounds," suggests Max, who pulls out the potion and seems ready to either hand it off or even feed it to her. Not sure if I can use it on Tina like someone might use a wand, but just in case: Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The Unruly GM
Technically, I don't think so. Unless they're unconscious and then it's a full-round action. But I'll allow it as a standard action if they're conscious and willing.
Kel the Guardsman
Bodyguard, Rex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Kel tries to help Rex avoid the demon's claws, but the disgusting cloud hinders his aim.
"Alright, pull back. I'll follow."
Delaying my action to let Rex get clear, then I'm going to Withdraw. I guess that actually means I'm Refocusing to the top of the initiative order, then Delaying down to just after Rex's action.

Round 8 Final
Max pulls out a potion and administers it to Tina.
Aravashnial moves forward.
Kel holds in position, waiting for Rex to clear out.
Deia makes her way through the door. Moved you north instead of south, since Max took the southern spot.

Kel the Guardsman
Kel shut the door and leaned against it taking a deep breath of clean air.
"Demons can summon more demons. I think that's what happened in there. I don't know how long the summoned one will stick around, but we should be able to hear when it vanishes. These things aren't smart. Everyone take breather. Lets see what they do."
He was looking a little haggard, bleeding nearly black blood from multiple wounds.
Kel the Guardsman
"That would be... really nice." Kel says with a wry smile that belied how hurt he was.
"You and Rex need them more than me though. I'll be alright."
I have Diehard and DR, I'm still the least likely to get taken out of a fight even with the damage I've taken.

Round 9 Update
Tina moves back down the hallway.

"Horgus Gwerm"
Horgus jumps as the demons slam into the door and start scratching. His nervous grip on the crossbow and the sudden jerking cause the weapon to discharge in the direction of the door. The bolt hits the wall above the door and shatters, sending fragments of wood flying around the room.
Indignantly he says, "I told you I didn't want this thing! Now how do I reload it?"
Kel the Guardsman
Kel ducked as the bolt slammed into the wood above his head. He winced and chuckled a little. "Hold it in your left hand and swing it down to put your foot in that stirrup at the front. Now grab that middle grip with your right hand and pull. It's a lever that draws the string back into place."
Maximillian Akorius
Max fires his own cold iron bolt at the dretch!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 4 - 4 = -2; Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1 Max lodges his own arrow straight into the woodwork.
"Believe me, Horgus, it isn't easy with so many folks in the way!" Max reloads.
The Unruly GM
So, they can't get through the door's hardness. How many rounds are you guys going to spend preparing to re-emerge?
Deia
|
Ideally, we'd wait until everybody is back to normal status or the door breaks down, whichever comes first. We can feed people CLW potions as well if they are wounded.
Deia coughs and hacks but eventually the effects of the noxious cloud start to wear off. "I would hate to see what happened if the whole city were covered in a cloud like that. The defenders wouldn't be able to put up very much of a fight."
If she has time, Deia readies a cast spell. Hex: Evil Eye (DC15, Will) targeting attack rolls should the door open.
Maximillian Akorius
Sorry - reading fail on my part.
"Does anyone have more healing draughts? We should quickly recover our strength!" He realizes as he declares this that he is stating the obvious.
TinyTina
I can make two in a minute. I think we do have four Cure Light Wounds potions from the Chief left over.Checking Loot list and notice 4 are left on line 34
Tina gets to work making a CLW extract if the others have decided to wait.
Doesn't Rex have the scale that makes his weapons blessed? That would be great to use on a devil.
The Unruly GM
Ok, so Tina's mixing up two extracts. Which means two minutes of time go by, at the least, before you guys plan on opening the door. The summoned dretch will most definitely be gone by then. As will everyone's nausea. Go ahead and figure out what else you do in that 2-minute time frame.
Deia
|
Deia tries to listen at the door to see if she can hear the dretch.
perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
When they are ready to go back in, Deia stands back with Tina.
The Unruly GM
A few seconds after Kel slams the door shut the scratching lessens. As the party rests and recovers for a minute, the scratching continues. After about a minute and a half, however, the scratching stops completely.
Kel the Guardsman
Can Kel get another one of those potions? I'm still at half HP but I'm all out. Anyone have a spare?
"Ok, here's the thing with Dretches. They're basically mindless, but they understand how to take orders. Those ones were probably told to guard than maze and kill any intruders who didn't have the right holy symbol or something. After we shut the door, we stopped being a threat. It lost interest and probably went back to its post. We should expect it to be waiting for us in the maze again."
Deia
|
Take one of Deia's potions. I think she can use healing hex on herself if need be.
Deia agrees with Kel, "It is very quiet on the other side of the door. Either Kel is right and the dretch moved away or it is waiting to ambush us. I think it is probably safe to open the door and check."
Maximillian Akorius
"So, how are we all feeling? Ready to open the door?" Before the door opens, Max calls on Aroden's guidance upon Lann, Tina, Rex and Kel. If that seems too silly, I understand - but otherwise might as well use the time to buff up!"
