Round 6!
I'm going to assume that you've handed off the arrows to Anevia since we had issues tracking who had them.
Anevia unleashes another two arrows at the dwarf, burying one of the shots into his chest. The dwarf continues cackling even as he falls to the ground.
Attack1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Concealment, Blur: 1d100 ⇒ 49 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

"Anevia Tirablade" |

Anevia watches her shot fell the dwarf and then hobbles over to where the others are in order to retrieve the only arrow that didn't break when it hit the rocks by the dwarf.
"That was interesting. I wonder who he was."

Kel the Guardsman |

Kel quickly drags the body of the dwarf back towards the group and sets up a defensive position in the bottleneck the dwarf had come from.
"Everyone alright? How's Kosz?"

Maximillian Akorius |

"Nice finish, Anevia. That could have gone very poorly without your aid. Don't worry about the folks on the ground - they will come to. I know this sort of magic well." Max takes a look at the wizardly dwarf for interesting magic, but he's unable to make heads or tails of most of it.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 = 14
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 = 20

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 1 = 21
"This one is a potion of Invisibility," he remarks. "I confess to being ignorant regarding the remainder."
Dumb question -- can Max use the Identify spell on an item he's already attempted to identify, or does he have to wait a day?

The Unruly GM |

Tina, a round is only 6 seconds. So Kosz and Deia will be up and running as if nothing happened in less than a minute. So they'll pretty much wake up as soon as combat has ended.
Max, the retry entry for Spellcraft says that failing to identify an item makes you wait a day to try again, regardless of if you were using the Identify spell or Detect Magic. Identify says that it functions as Detect Magic, so you've got to wait until the next day to try again.

![]() |

Deia recovers from the spell affecting her and holds her head in her hands. "Uuuhhnnnnggg", she moans, "that will give you a headache but I don't think there is any permanent damage." She takes a short drink from her waterskin.
Looking up she asks "Is everybody else alright? Kosz is up and about?"
Deia helps Max inspect the items that the dwarf had.
Spellcraft(target 16): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Spellcraft(target 17): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Spellcraft(target 20): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Spellcraft(target 21): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Spellcraft(target 22): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
"I agree with Max's assessmet of the invisibility potion. The cloak appears to contain some magic that helps you avoid or overcome dangerous situations. It will make you feel healthier, react quicker, and be more focused."
Do you want to have a misdiagnosis for the first scroll as I rolled a one?

The Unruly GM |

Treat the natural 1 on the scroll as just a normal failure.

TinyTina |

Tina holds the two potions and examines them closely..
Potion#1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Potion#2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
A potion of invisibility. This would be good for scouting, although I don't know what the other is.
The dwarf probably had a camp further on if he was doing research as he said. Tina checks to see if the dwarf is dead.
Heal stabilize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Kosz Trumpeter |

For the second time in a minute, Kosz slowly rises from the ground. "Oww..."
Looking around at the others, he again reaches down for his morningstar asking, "Is everyone okay?"

The Unruly GM |

The dwarf's camp is very spartan otherwise. It consists of little more than a tattered bedroll and a fire pit. A sack of preserved meats and fruit(6 rations) sits beside the bedroll along with a small, well-worn book and tiny marble statuette of a man holding a spear. Pinned to the sack is a small brooch in the shape of a bat perched atop a mushroom.
In the later pages he writes of crusaders watching him in the tunnels, laughing at his failures and waiting for him to sleep so that they can torture him. His descriptions of his experiments also become increasingly graphic and detailed. Accompanying these details are crudely drawn diagrams showing exactly how to reproduce them and formulae that seem to be what he based his experiments on.
The brooch is made from gold, but isn't really of note in any fashion. It could be sold for around 100gp.
The brooch is made of fine gold, and the bat's eyes both house tiny amethyst gemstones. Though not particularly special, the unique design and the skill that would be required to place the gems into the eyes may cause it to fetch a higher price of around 200gp.
0 - Acid Splash, Detect Magic, Ghost Sound, and Read Magic
1 - Color Spray, Detect Secret Doors, Grease, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Shocking Grasp, Silent Image,
2 - Blur, Fog Cloud, Invisibility, Levitate, Resist Energy

TinyTina |

I managed to stabilize the dwarf but he is almost gone, he needs to be patched up a lot if we want to talk to him.
Tina looks disgusted at the 'camp' How foul! Torturing these poor animals!
Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
The brooch is gold and seems to be about 100 gold, the statuette is about 45 gold coins
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Maximillian Akorius |

Max enters the stinky camp and picks up the book from Tina. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24. "Curiously enough, these ramblings have a distinct pattern. It's as if... it's a spellbook! Unless anyone else minds, I think it would be quite useful for me to hold onto this for future study"
I really am a noob when it comes to playing a wizard. Do I get to add these to my spellbook at some point?

![]() |

Deia walks into the camp with the rest of the group. "Gross! I can't imagine how somebody could live down here like this. I guess that also explains why he was so crazy."
As they are inspecting the camp, she looks at the brooch and statuette with Tina. appraise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 "I don't know, Tina. These look more valuable than that to me. They both have quite nice craftsmanship. At the fair in Kenabres, I'd think we could get closet to 75 for the statue and 200 for the pin."
Addressing the group, she asks "Now what to do about the dwarf? He attacked us, but leaving him here half-dead doesn't seem exactly right, either."

Maximillian Akorius |

"He's a madman and a powerful mage. Who knows what kind of abominations he might have created with these rats and darkmantles. I have little mercy for this Millorn."
Max picks up the crossbow and bolts. Keeping 5 bolts for himself, he adds 7 cold-iron bolts into the mix and hands the crossbow and bolts to Horgus. "Perhaps not your weapon of choice, but surely better than nothing at all."
To summarize, Max is trying to arm Horgus with a crossbow, 5 ordinary bolts, and 7 cold-iron bolts.

"Horgus Gwerm" |

Horgus looks at Max with contempt as he offers the crossbow.
"You don't honestly expect me to use that thing, do you? I'd much rather let you all do the fighting. You seem to be handling yourselves well enough, though I do think you could use some more practice."
Pointing at Anevia he adds, "Especially you. I've never seen someone miss so many shots with a bow before."

"Aravashnial" |

While trying to feel his way around the room by his staff, Aravashnial decides to join the conversation.
"I really agree that this Millorn deserves little sympathy from us; He did try to kill us after all. It would have been one thing to leave him bleeding after that, but since the kind woman has apparently tended to his wounds it would be something else entirely to kill him now. You've put us in quite the situation, ma'am."
-Posted with Wayfinder

"Aravashnial" |

"I never said it was wrong. In fact, I don't think that even the noblest of paladins would be likely to show such kindness to someone who attacked them in such a fashion, so it's most noble of you to do so. It just leaves us with a bit of a quandary that we have to think about."

Kosz Trumpeter |

Kosz turns to regard the unconscious dwarf and small woman, "The dwarf lives. Tina is right in that if he regains consciousness, he may know of a way to the surface."
EDIT: Fixed

The Unruly GM |

I may have been unclear, but the fruits are also dried. Basically, the food in the bag was your standard trail rations.

Maximillian Akorius |

"Thank you Horgus. We need all the fighting strength we can muster." Max withdraws, not wanting to offend the sour aristocrat any further. His attention returns to the fallen dwarf. "Well, Tina, I can't fault a healer for applying her skill in the art. Let us get him standing again and take him into custody until the authorities can take over again." Max wasn't entirely sure if there would be any authorities left, but he chooses to remain optimistic.

Kel the Guardsman |

Not really knowing what to say about the dwarf, Kel keeps quiet and looks around the area in case the mad wizard wasn't alone.

The Unruly GM |

After taking your time to check the area thoroughly, you only find evidence of a single person having lived in this cavern. However, you do find an area of recently turned soil about 3 feet wide by 4 feet long along the southern wall.

Kel the Guardsman |

"I've got something buried over here? Or maybe just a garden. Someone want to take a look?"
I'm going to point out the loose dirt to the others, and let them handle investigating it while I keep watch on the area.
