I'd imagine there's quite a bit of gratuitous quest XP since the AP is trying to get us to 20 within six books.
There are quite a lot of story awards handed out for making the NPCs not indifferent, and you also got 600 xp from fixing the shrine.

No, unfortunately. He isn't much useful in combat, but he is rich...
Were he talking that up, he might get a better reaction. "Hey, I am useful, just get me out of here and I will prove it."

Just so everyone knows, any xp from relationships is group awarded, so only one person needs to be friendly to get the group xp award. The tracker is more so I can keep track of NPC's relationships with you than anything else.

Is it really that important how the NPCs respond? The story isn't about them... and while I definitely understand wanting to make them fully "interactive" and "fleshed-out", in the end it's just aesthetic... it's really unlikely to actually matter.
