Rising up from the pool is a column of rock with steeply sloped sides and a flat top, as if someone had sawn off the top of a massive stalagmite. A miniature city carved from this same stone occupies nearly the entire surface. Tiny trinkets such as ancient coins, polished semiprecious stones, and ornately braided loops of string are scattered throughout the diorama, and pale cave frogs clamber atop it.

As the party draws nearer... Balgrym, Monty, Nina:
The aquatic fellow's cape is not just similar to the scintillating one Karayan is carrying, but nearly identical in color and cut.

As the party draws nearer... Balgrym, Hayden, Nina:
The old pilgrim keeps his eyes on all of you but spends most of his time looking up at Karayan standing on the ridge in his new-found opalescent cape.

Nina:
It is more a matter of stealth and sleight of hand to pull off what she's attempting. The water here is particularly clean and clear so without a 'Hey look! It's Elvis!' sort of move everyone is going to see what she's doing. Are you still going for it?

Wading into the water, Nina snatches up a pallid, eyeless cave fish from the water and quickly breaks it back. She places it upon the edge of the miniature city.

As she does so, Alexis bids Balgrym to stoop lower, until he is nearly eye to eye with a trio of cave frogs, so that she might draw some pictographs upon the city's walls.

And in completing their tasks the two pathinders, and their fellows are overcome by a very, very mild sense of divine wonder as if breathed upon by a passing choir boy's second cousin.

The PCs each gain +1 competence bonus on Perception checks to notice creatures, and a +2 insight bonus on a single combat maneuver check.
In addition the lasses are even further blessed; Alexis gains cheesesense (60 ft), and Nina can speak fluent Spanish. All these divine gifts are available for the next 24 hours.

That would be tough given you're current relative locations. Hayden would have to turn away from Karayan too. More likely, Hayden would try and get Karayan's attention while Uori was looking at Karayan, and then play dumb when Uori looked back Hayden's way. This method also has the advantage of looking funnier.

The tunnel is long and winding with short branches that quickly dead end sprouting all about it.

As the party moves on the air grows staler, and ranker, and the walls grow slick with damp mold. Finally the tunnel ends in a rough cul-de-sac, with a narrow crack leading off at a perpendicular angle from the main tunnel, just before the end. It is from that aperture that the stench is the foulest.

Hengist, Karayan, Nina and Sir Hayden:
You hear something like labored breathing coming from just beyond the opening. It is accompanied by an unwholesome damp, smacking sound, and it seems to have more than one source....

Only a little light creeps into the chamber from the hall but it is enough to see the shambling, panting horrors that await in the cave.

Three fetid, twitching, slobbering, humanoid things arise out of the dark, in the midst of a cave full of ruin. Torn, and muddy paper, broken spelunking gear, and scientific equipment all lay stamped into the wet earth about the chamber. A pale corpse, equally spoiled, lays amid the wreckage its limbs and neck all twisted at impossible angles.

The creatures seem to recognize the party as invaders. They shamble forward with murderous intent!

Seeing Nina flashing forward and attempting to rip one of the Zombies to shreds, Monty grunts in approval. He looks for a way to aid her, but it's much to crowded in that corner of the cave. Instead, he sidesteps and dances to Hengists side, swiping at the Zombie, not really seeming to actually be trying to hit it, just trying to give Hengist an opening.

Aid another: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14 +4 to hit for Hengist on success.

Well, that's what I get for going out of order...Max damage to the face.

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is just being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬

With what exactly? The character doesn't seem to have any weapons, nor Improved Unarmed Strike. Aiding the way Monty is trying to normally involves making an 'attack roll', which can provoke attacks of opportunity as usual when striking unarmed against a foe that is 'armed' in this case with a natural weapon.

Nina, and Balgrym combine to not-so-neatly quarter one of the undead releasing a stink as bad a week-old forgotten fish market.

Alexis rushes forward into the scene of carnage.

Totes my bad. Had him draw it once or twice already, didn't even realize I hadn't listed it. Fixed.

Hengist easily dodges the zombie's swinging fist and brings his ax around, whistling.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 4 = 11
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 slashing damage.

They are in rather tight quarters, though...

Hengist swings but just misses. The implacable gillwoman zombie barely notices.

'Mesmerist'? Is that something you made up?

Research. Research. Class. Research. Research. It has an Archetype.... Research. Research. Poorly worded ability that forces me to research another ability.... Research. Research.... Sure. But I still think it's something you made up. ;)

Not being of a particularly brave constitution, Monty swipes at the zombie again to distract it for Hingist again before stepping 5 feet back.
