Yeah, I think I suggested Force Control for that reason, but I didn't really go into detail on it.
Melee combat is more interesting to me regardless of setting, but yeah in RWBY especially. There's one sniper in season 3 who actually seems like a threat for a minute, but she's heavily specialized into it.
It's mostly just that RWBY runs on rule of cool. If the setting ran on logic, literally everybody would have a sniper rifle, and hunters would just post up on walls and nuke any Grimm that got close. :)

Absolutely true, and I for one run on rule of cool in my games. If the action is *technically* not going to work, but it's fiddly-close, and it's freaking awesome if it did work, well congratulations it happens. Games are meant to be fun, and as long as you're not hogging the spotlight, I want people to have fun doing cool stuff.
Which is why I run exalted too.

Looks like the upper and lower halves of a Beowolf skull, with ribbed grip bars hidden in the curve of the weapon. Slightly over-sized but often hanging over her upper legs worn similar to leg/hip armor. Primarily uses the Large teeth to slash and crush enemies.
When shooting the weapon the upper skull is held on top of the jaw as a sort of brace, the barrel protruding slightly from the nose hole, the weapon only holds a single Dust cartridge so it must be reloaded after every shot.

She can often, almost always, be seen snacking and it might come surprisingly that she doesn't ever seem to gain much weight, she's not small by any standards due to her muscular build.
When not roughhousing with her housemates, she spent her time training and helping her brother Garth in his weapon shop
Her older brother, Garth, Attended Shade Academy to be a hunter, he uses many of his skills to help protect the family and make money assisting passersby with weapon repairs and sales.
Not to be outdone by any of those she lived with, especially her brother, she chose to apply to Beacon, her parents were against this at first but after much agreement that it may be good for her to get out in the world they agreed.
Feeling it would be a great opportunity to combine two of her passions, trying new foods and going to a famous academy.
Garth wasn't her only inspiration to become a Huntress, she remembered stories of her great grandfather Vinix, who had become a little bit of a protector of their meager territory when he still lived...
She also used it as an excuse to get out and try out the exotic foods of the world in order to sate her voracious appetite.

Interesting character definately the RWBY feel and would probably get along great with Onyxia. I do have a few critiques sorry if i am blunt.
Typically you can't substitute 2 minor for a major. i know mathematically it adds up but the whole point is something major to play around with. as always subject to GM approval. As for your hindrances you only had 3 minor not 4 as being a faunus automatically provides you with Outsider while giving you the minor ability of dark sight. Also all 3 of your minor are related to eating which means you got some serious eating quarks, habits and pride like eating raw meat and eating it like a smoker that smokes a pack a day in front of every one to fit all of which would fit under Hedonistic and be more fun IMHO. not sure how exactly pride and eating work tbh
You are not required to have hindrances they are purely optional for fleshing out your character by getting bonus abilities/edges/attributes and role play purposes. I would recommend looking at switching things around maybe subbing a few things for Arrogant, Heroic, Obese, or Hedonist to help diversify and flesh out the character.
As for the Semblance all semblances require activation. it hasn't been clarified if that is an automatic deduction in power cost but i assumed it doesn't as we were just told we can not take it. Best bang for your buck is Contingent -2 on having your armor up... honestly i think it is a bit broken but eh this is RWBY it is supposed to be flashy and op. i built mine for funny roleplay moments. not 100% if multiplied before or after modifiers core superhero companion says before but honestly that is a bit op and easily exploited.... i like to work harder for my exploits.
as for the weapon i can't believe i didn't think of the no switch. it would have optimized me quite a bit only taking two fisted once instead of twice. It sounds like it should work just fine but subject to GM approval as always but i don't see why it would be a problem.
Lastly and i am not terribly sure of this i believe the game is full as far as i know unless some one is dropping out we are at our 8 person limit.

Thanks for the input Schythe, a healthy dose of criticism and opinions are part of the character creation process. I didn't figure it'd be allowable to sub 2 minors for a major but it's my first character using this particular system and i didn't want to flood Aloha with questions.
I was going somewhere along the lines of the character eats to a point where it's almost funny how much they can put down but i didn't actually think at the time it quite fit Hedonistic. I'm still bouncing ideas around in my head to fully flesh out the character and even since i posted this i've gone ahead and changed it in my mind quite a bit. The Prideful part was more of a comical, "Hey you wait over there we can fight once i'm done with this bag of chips.. Alright let's dance."
As for Hinderances as a whole i'll probably go ahead and fiddle with them some more.
I went back and reread the thing about semblances and realized that you can't take require activation, guess i was too tired at the time to notice how it was written. In the end again probably gonna have to tone it down and redistribute points a bit probably tuning it down to 2 limbs or maybe even scrapping that idea altogether after having a good look at the powers on less tired eyes.
Yeah i'm wondering about if it's allowable to split the no switch, it makes sense logically because that'd be a huge burn on points if it were to cost 3 on both forms of the weapon leaving you with a measly 2 points per form to use.
From what i understand yes the game is indeed full, but in the case that a spot opens in the future I wanted to get my name in the hat early.
TLDR; Yeah probably gonna go ahead and spruce up the character and move things around a bit to get a more solid idea as to what it's supposed to do n' be.

Focusing her Aura into key locations Esper causes thicker 'sheets' of aura to pool around vital areas on her body increasing her durability. The focused flow of aura to these locations boosts her speed and reflexes considerably. While her semblance is active she looks as if she's wearing Cream colored armor.

When the heater shield expands into it's skiff mode it extends outward in all directions before smaller metal plates slide out to protect the complex gear-work.
The larger surface area is too flexible to perform as an adequate shield against melee attacks, but spreads it's weight evenly enough to act as a sled, with an extra strap for the rider when moving exceptionally fast.
The bottom section of the shield splits down the pointed edge to reveal the propulsion system, which can function as an extremely short range gun when needed. When not expanded this shield works as a heater shield(medium sized shield) It still looks quite bulky in either form.
The other part of this pair is the short glaive, which transforms into a medium ranged revolver chambered rifle.
The butt of the glaive folds into a stock resting comfortably into the shooter's shoulder, while the bladed edge flips upwards resting along the top of the pole to function as a sight as well as revealing the barrel.
The enlarged section just above the grip is where the dust chamber fits providing room for the user to move their hands freely.
She often uses the Glaive as a rudder when engaging in dune-combat, not applicable with harder surfaces.
Personality: Bombastic would be... a word to describe Esper, never afraid to backdown from a challenge. Her eyes are often bigger than her ability when it comes to things the world throws at her but you can't deny that she tries her best.
She can often be seen snacking or lugging around her large shield, she has a rather athletic build and her skin is tanned from many hours under the bright sun of Vacuo's deserts.
She practices using her shield Wanderlust as a tool for movement, riding it much like a surfer would across the sands and different flavors of hard ground.
When not practicing, studying, or helping protect her mother's mobile shop, she can be found tinkering with her gear. She's glad to have finally moved out from her traveling home across the shifting sands, and doesn't plan to stay in one place once she's free to wander again.
Background: Growing up in Vacuo isn't always easy, especially when you are almost always on the move. Esper, is the daughter of the fairly successful traveling merchant whom travels the sands of Vacuo aboard a large sand skiff turned mobile trading post.
Her mother Nepheline, raised her daughter while traveling around the land and attempted to teach Esper the ways of the humble merchant. However Esper wanted to be like her great grandfather Vinix a quote unquote 'hero' of the great war, she wanted to be a huntress. Though with a heavy heart, Nepheline let her daughter pursue her own path in life allowing her extended stays at the spotty primary combat schools across Vacuo, few that they may be. Esper took an interest especially in her weapon classes and took inspiration from her mobile home when designing her own.
While moving between combat schools Esper was able to hone her skills as a huntress protecting her family skiff from grimm and the occasional bandits seeking their goods. Thanks to herself and many hunters and huntresses that would offer protection for passage on the vessel they were reasonably safe.
Esper spent her free time helping to guard the Skiff and improving on her skills at Dune-riding. Her older brother, Cobalt currently attends Shade Academy, however she plans on attending Beacon academy to both get away from her parents and to explore the world and all it holds.
Casual Clothing: Esper sports a sand brown sleeveless tunic, she has a skirt hanging down to her knees however it's been pulled up, folded, and tucked into itself so that it acts as a half skirt covering her upper thighs. Underneath the skirt and tunic she wears a dark amber colored undershirt covering most of her arms, as well as similarly colored pants.
Thick tanned leather boots cover her feet, and a leather belt ties off her tunic at the waist holding her skirt in place as well. The tunic buttons up the side and has ornate flower patterns, mainly those of cactus flowers, dyed an orange along the trim.
She protects her hands with cloth gloves and light leather bracers. A pair of brown tinted goggles dangle from her neck as well as a short brown sash. Her hair is kept short and pulled back into a tight braid when grown out.

Looks very nice well presented. Don't forget your dark-vision due to faunus. Was thinking of doing something similar with the shield for Sinn where he ends up standing or riding on it more then using it as a shield however i ended up sacking out the idea for a higher power rifle as he was focused as a sniper.

I just couldn't think of a good way to explain the gun gauntlets transforming other than. duct tape+fist+gun and then i re-watched up to vol 3 of RWBY and was like.. shield surfer... Not exactly sure how to handle pace on the shield though, cause if i go by ballistic movement it's not really worth the effort.
