Prepping another Monstrous Physique I, as well as Shield, Identify, Alchemical Allocation, Cure Moderate Wounds, and Thorn Body. Pouring a Touch of the Sea potion into his Sipping Jacket, so it'll be ready to use with a swift action. Drinking Touch Injection with Medium spider venom, that'll be active for about 8 hours. Also putting on his Mask of the Skull


How long does it take to prep an extract?

Edit: I looked it up. It's one minutes.

Is Zirul going to ask the party to wait for him?

As the party steps into the clearing where Sefina's spring is, a rocket flies into the air and explodes into fireworks filling the nightsky with brilliant points of colored light

"I'm so sorry neighbors..." a feminine voice calls out from the water.

"I have no choice!"

Kal begins gesturing at the sky, speaking words of power to call forth lightning. Casting call lightning.


The voice can be heard sobbing.

"Not all of it. No! He made me! He took something... Something I need. He made me charm that boy and talk him into feeding your guest that poison to make him lustful."

Kal is aware that nereid all posses a special shawl that ties their life force to the material plane. Without it a nereid will wither and die within hours if they don't get it back or craft another.

The party is up. She still has not been seen.

"Damn it. Forget her for now, we should get back to guests and she won't go far!"

Eating a bite of food, so I'm gonna be away from the machine for a few. If things start to look dicey, Zirul will give Bjorkus the Thorn Body extract to use (caster level 8).

The starless cloud-filled nightsky rumbles with growing thunder.

"A cruel little man. He came here claiming to be a friend but when I let him into my spring he stole from me. I can't remember what it's like to feel good... It hurts... It feels like dying..."

Suddenly the water within the spring surges forward as a monstrous wave and takes a vaguely humanoid form. The living wave smashes watery limbs down on the two men closest to the spring.

Vs Luthor: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 2) + 13 = 18
Vs Zirul: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (4, 5) + 13 = 22

Bursting from the water is an unearthly beauty with long dark hair. However, unlike last time the party met her, the nereid's normally glowing skin is sickly and dull. She waves her delicate arm sending a spray of water at Luthor. The crystal clear water is cloying and burns Luthor's eyes.

Touch: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Luthor needs a fort save vs poison.

The party is up.

"WHO WAS IT?" yells Kal again.

Kal turns to Bjorkus. "Get to her, subdue her... we need to figure out who's behind this. If we can return her shawl, she may be alright... I don't want to kill her."

He moves to Bjorkus and casts a spell, causing him to move even more quickly than he already was. Casting slipstream on Bjorkus if it'll work in conjunction with haste... I think it ought to work and give him a total of 100ft land speed (downhill). Let me know if it won't work and I'll change it.

Bjorkus nods and, on hooves borne on water, rushes across the clearing towards the spring.

He lunges for the nereid.

"You've gotta stop this. Let us help!"

"I don't know!" Sefina sobs. "I've never seen him before. After he took my shawl he gave me the glass full of spirits and told me what I had to do..."

As Bjorkus crosses the water, the elemental lashes out with a massive limb.

AoO: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (5, 3) + 13 = 21

But it bounces harmlessly off of the bull's thick hide.

The minotaur easily overpowers the delicate fey. She gasps in surprise.

Opal, Luthor, and Zirul are up.

Luthor manages to fight off the poisoned water and slams his brass knuckles into the watery mass assaulting him.

The blow is solid but not wholly effective.

My apologies. The map is one I'm still getting used to. Just say then that Zirul moves to the elemental T10 and attempts an actual attack, not the non-lethal.


Zirul wouldn't be able to reach the elemental from T10 so I moved him to U10. Also, he's within full attack range.

Damage w/ Freebooter's Bane: 1d6 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 3 = 9

Iterative: 1d20 + 7 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 5 = 31
Damage w/ Freebooter's Bane: 1d6 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 3 = 12

Zirul's quick swipes leave marks in the elemental's form but they're not as deep as they should be.

It's just the first game I've actually played in that used a map, so it's a good surprise. That, combined with being on some pain meds, currently, and I was a bit slow on the uptake, I think. Apparently, I also misread the columns and rows, because U10 was visually where I was meaning.


Heh, well I've made it my personal quest to bring PBP maps to all games. It's simple and I think it adds a lot. I'll forgive you this time. =P

Opal steps forward and fires a pair of her signature arcs of lightning at the elemental.

Ray: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 3 = 26
Damage: 4d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 5) + 4 + 3 = 17
Ray: 1d20 + 8 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 3 = 24
Damage: 4d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 3) + 4 + 3 = 20

Both connect wounding the elemental greatly.

The elemental rears back to slam into those in front of it again.

Damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (1, 5) + 13 = 19
Vs Zirul: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26

Sefina struggles against the raging bull.

But can't break his mighty grip.

Growling low, he sees that the rapier will not do near enough to this sort of enemy, and as such, Zirul puts the weapon away and pulls out his mutagen, guzzling it down and grinning, as his limbs lengthen, and the dagger rows of teeth force his jaws to widen, his fingernails growing into long razor-like claws, and his skin growing leathery and covered in a patchwork of fur. The look in his eyes grow more feral.

Sheathing weapon as a move action, drinking the mutagen as a standard action. So his Dex is boosted by +4, his Wisdom goes down by -2, he gains 2 claw attacks and a bite.

Also using a free action for his Spontaneous Healing ability, to heal 5 damage.
