Opal attempts the dispel upon the bomb whose fog she just cleared.

Zirul easily clears the gap and rushes up the deck.

Opal's spell dispels the magic in the bomb and renders it harmess.

Luthor fights off the paralyzing pain from the shock but cuts himself on the halfling's thorny skin again.

The halfing grins those needle-sharp teeth and lunges again.

His claws open more wounds and Luthor succombs to his wounds.

Bat-Kal flies toward Luthor, screeching in anger and distress, and calls a wave to send the naughty halfling plummeting into the depths. My NW square to X15 and 5' down, so now at 15'. Attempting to surge the halfling east.

Surge (haste): 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 15 + 1 = 27


The disable ended up not being necessary as Opal was able to dispel the bomb. You have a full round's actions this turn.

Kal's wave fails to budge the halfling.

Last round of haste, so gonna make use of it. I think if I attempt to jump enough times, I can get to Y16 in time and still use Healing Touch ability for 5 HPs healed on Luthor. And I just noticed that, with that hasted speed, I get a +12 racial since my base speed is higher. The joys of actually READING the rules...And I'm gonna assume 2 acrobatics rolls.

Seeing Zirul leap aboard the ship and administer aid, the Eel draws an vial and downs the contents to mend his own wounds.

"Another sucker eh? Well I was told to just humiliate you lot but he didn't say how many I had to leave alive."

"Keep looking. We've got one last ship. I'll get Luthor back conscious." His fingertips sizzle as they begin to seal up more of the wounds that the Freebooter received, his bones popping and the bruises from the elemental's attacks fading slightly.

Using Healing Touch again, for another 5 points of healing for our downed friend. Also, using Spontaneous Healing on myself for a free action, so 5 healed for me, as well.


Opal concentrates and casts again.

The last cloud of fog disperses. There are no bombs on the deck.

Zirul looks immensely frustrated. "Don't die, while I'm gone, you f+@*er!" And with that, Zirul drinks down another of his extracts, his form changing and shifting rapidly, growing another pair of arms. After but a moment, his body shrinks in size, from nearing 6 feet down to an even 4. It seems as though, all that mass is compacted down into dense, armor plates over his body. As soon as the transformation is complete, he runs for the railing, to dive over.

Monstrous Physique I, turning into a charda! and a Perception roll while heading over. If he sees the guy trying to escape, he'll make the necessary leap to get into good position. Yay for swim speed of 30.

Bat-Kal screeches and flaps one wing toward the edge of the ship while reaching out to touch the other to the fallen half-ulfen. He then flaps his wings and flies south-east to follow the halfling should it try to escape. My NW corner to AC19.

Bat-Kal senses the Eel a few feet under the water.

Within the water, Charda-Zirul spots the vicious little halfling as he swims closer to slash at him with a claw.

Bat-Kal makes an echoey clicking noise as he locates the halfling. After a moment he dips down to the edge of the water and then shifts, swirling, his wings melding to the rest of his body even as it flows together and apart. With only the slightest of ripples, Kal the water elemental comes to rest in the water fifteen feet from his prey.

I'm medium and in AB21. AC is 23.


Opal runs to the edge of the ship and begins summoning.

The vicious halfing slashes back with his own razor-sharp claws.

"In the water, the Eel is king!" he says in gurgled speech.

Claw: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (17) + 21 = 38
Damage plus lightning: 1d3 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 13 + (4) = 20

He spins and glares at Aqua-Kal.

"You're next!"

Aqua-Kal grins and begins to spin. Faster and faster, around and around, until the water around him begins to be tugged toward him... at which point he moves toward the halfling. Vortex. Needs two Reflex saves, DC 16. First save prevents the damage, second save prevents him from being held suspended in the whirlpool. My movement doesn't provoke.

Damage (Ref DC16 negates): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Zirul gasps at the pain, his blood seeping out, staining water, jacket and chainmail as he goes unconscious. The moment his eyes shut and body goes limp, though, the water around him bubbles slightly, wounds straining to shut again. One more use of Spontaneous Healing, since it auto-activates when I go unconscious.

Taking 5 foot step, to AB16 and drinking extract of Cure Moderate Wounds.

Pulling another flask from his belt, still bleeding profusely, the surgeon drinks it down and prays to Besmara for the best, grinning slightly as the liquid does its job and draws the flesh swiftly back together.

CMW: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 5) + 8 = 14


Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

The halfing easily avoids the powerful current.

"You're gunna have to do a lot better than that."

SpinnywaterKal shrugs and continues north, picking up the wounded surgeon as he goes. Zirul, this might hurt a wee bit... you need two Reflex saves, and you don't want to make the second one.

Damage (Reflex DC16 negates): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

If Kal succeeds in picking Zirul up, he ends his movement in AB9 and releases Zirul as a free action. If he doesn't pick up the alchemist, he stays 5' from the halfling.

Opal gives in to her growing frustration and, combined with her natural feminine viciousness, her summoning takes the form of a monstrous skeletal demon. The creature leaps into the water and Opal steps off after it. Together they tear at the magic protecting the halfling.

Opal Dispel: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

The halfling's thorny barbs melt away.

"Hey, what are you doing?!"

With a growl he powers up to Opal and slashes at her.

Opal's Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Zirul slurps down another vial of liquid, this one drawing his flesh back together even further. "You'll see soon enough."

As the flesh is knitting back together, the augmented half-elf speeds through the water like a shark, the killing gleam in his eyes. "Surround him!

Moving to AC16. Wish I'd posted this quicker, so I could have made it there before the beginning of the round.

SpinnywaterKal summons a wave to push Opal to safety, then goes buzzing through the halfling's water again. Surge Opal north, then move through the halfling's space and end in AB18.

Surge on Opal: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
I believe she ends up in AB11.

Damage to halfling (Ref DC16 negates): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

And another reflex save or be trapped. Roll a 1.

Opal flings some magic missiles at the Halfling.

Opal’s missiles pelt the Eel while her summoned demon tries to strip more of his magic away.

Dispel: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

But this time it does not succeed.

The vicious Halfling paddles over to monster-Zirul and slashes him with a claw again.

Claw: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37
Damage plus lightning: 1d3 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 13 + (3) = 17

If that hits, fort save for Zirul.

SpinnywaterKal goes zooming back into the melee, trying again to pick up the halfling and, failing that, picking up the stunned surgeon to carry him off to safety. Two more reflex saves for the halfling, and assuming he succeeds, two for Zirul (or one, if you want to forgo the second one again, which I'd advise).

Ending my movement in AC23 and spitting Zirul out, if I got him and not the halfling.

Halfling Damage (Ref DC16 negates): 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
