Farrin Druzak |
Just saying that we havnt heard anything yet either on the good side of things.
Hope all is ok with him and just something came up. We were just about to head below. Im going to pretend that he is here and continue.. Suggest you evil folks do the same (not going to look at your adventuere thread.) :D
I like farrin, don't want to not use him :D
Scotty the Blade |
Sometimes that happens with the threads for some reason. It doesn't register you as posting and doesn't show the (x new) tags.
Sometimes I am scrolling through the threads and it will say something like (74 new) on posts I have never read ;p.
Good to have you around still doctor! Let's mosey on further and hope our wonderful DM comes back.
Scotty the Blade |
I don't know if Scotty would give you his money, even as friendly as he is. Also I don't think he has much to give atm...
But I guess idk what I'm enchanted with so it's the dms call

If Scotty and Jamako know any Drow deities at all, they'd be Pathfinder ones. In Venture Town Lolth is an ancient Drow deity who used to be their head goddess like in D&D but whose cult has since lost it's power base.
Even if you did know she was evil, you'd try to see the good in her.
Also Scotty will only be affected for a few minutes after he tosses the gem to Jamako, so you can decide for yourself when it would be amusing for the effects to wear off, somewhere in the near future. Jamako will continue to be affected until some time after he lets go of the gem (but why would he? It's so shiny.)
Scotty the Blade |
When I come to, am I aware that the gem made me feel different?
LOL this is difficult! Character wise, scotty would be all about the hot drow lady, and think that's good in general. So his view of evil and good is all eschew, trying to differentiate between what actually is good and what scotty thinks is good ;p
I'm gonna just continue pretending he got slipped some awesome drugs for now.
Romboldt |
Jamako is the perfect wielder of the shiny! :D He's gunna hold on to it for dear life up until it's time to sell it. ^_^
Conveniently even if he fails to drop it voluntarily, Scotty can easily TAKE it. XD
Charlemagne's Brain |
Yeah, and having a Drow with us is probably helping a lot ;p
So... what's this babe's charisma score looking like? bow chicka bow wow
It's 20, but that's mostly force of personality. While she's definitely attractive, she's specifically the kind of attractive that drow like, so it's a very predatory beauty that not all humans are going to appreciate. You constantly get the sense that she's sizing you up to bite your neck or something, but she has a pretty smile.
Charlemagne's Brain |
Is this woman the first 'boss fight' for the good guys? ;) lol
She's more like the first "ticking clock". When I originally wrote the encounter I tried not to assume anything about the PCs, but did assume that they would be at least be against the idea of the drow returning (and I guess that someone would be able to read Dwarf). The idea was for the PCs trying to stop Ratticus before he can successfully wake up the Drow in question whose name you don't know. On the off chance she did show up Good PCs would basically have to run for their lives (and she was going to not chase them owing to the fact that they indirectly helped free her by letting Ratticus in).
Yeah having a Drow Anti-Paladin really flipped this encounter on it's head.

Hellblazer is my jam!
Have you read any of the new Constantine stuff? It's ok... But I'm really liking justic league dark. Jeff lemire is the man. Not as good as hellblazer but still... It's good :p
Drovic Trel |
Was this the only thing on the floor or are there doors leading out.
Oh yay we have ushered in the end times. All shall be eaten by ... THE BEYOND. Doc Silver has me doing it now.
As for JLD the fact that they are throwing in my face that disaster man and that old guys wife are cheating annoys me. Same thing for the flash and his oh I want to be X but y is so much fun crap. Unless we are talking about different continuities which is why I don't read comic books anymore.

I sound like a douchy hipster when I talk about comics, but I legitimately only like the early Hellblazer. Jamie Delano, Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis (the greatest writer of pulp fiction who ever lived), Grant Morrison, Neil Gaiman, Brian Azzarello, it used to be like a whose-who of the best writers in comics. After Azzarello's run though I felt like it sort of lost it's soul and I stopped reading. That comic was very much of a time. You can't do John Constantine like Clark Kent where's he's permanently 30. John has a timeline, Hellblazer only works for so long. So much of it is about the 80s.
It is still the best horror comic there's ever been. Nothing can be great forever.
Anyway that's my long douchy hipster way of saying that I have not read any of the new Constantine stuff. I haven't really liked anything in mainstream comics since they edged Warren Ellis out of Thunderbolts.
See? I just said mainstream comics, and I meant it. I can't talk about this stuff without sounding like a douche.
Harland Desef |
Harland is okay with the world being overrun by drow horror-terrors so long as he's allowed to continue attaining power.
He's even fine with the colossal Horrorsaurus so long as it doesn't kill him.
Scotty the Blade |
I agree with you. I grew up reading my brothers copies Alan moores swamp thing and gaimans the sandman and got hooked on all that immediately. Garth ennis' hellblazer is wonderful. Also Neil gaiman is probably my favorite person on the plane. And don't even get me start in grant Morrison. His animal man is perfect and have you read the filth? Changed my life. You literally listed off most of my favorite writers. (Except azzarello. 100 bullets is the stupidest thing I've ever read. Although his hellblazer was ok)
The sad fact remains though that they keep making these comics. And while it is for the most part sun par, it's still nostalgic and entertaining and that's all I really want from a comic.
Charlemagne's Brain |
Man, they made non-Gaiman Sandman stuff and non-Moore Watchmen stuff. The people who run the comic companies don't have souls. Do you understand? They're not humans. They're monsters. It's not even murder to kill them. They have no souls. All they do is corrupt and destroy.
Have you read Preacher? Good call on Animal Man btw. And Alan Moore is like some kind of wizard (and claims to be, so it adds up). If you like Warren Ellis, Transmetropolitan is his magnum opus and the single greatest piece of cyberpunk fiction ever.
Scotty the Blade |
I've read most of warren Ellis's work. Lol I have a spider jerusalem "kiss here" tattoo on a certain part of my body (:p). and also planetary is damn near perfect.
See, I can be a comic hipster douche as well lol. It's really not my fault I swear.
And I agree. Especially dc. They just want all the monies, I agree. It's pretty soulless, but I stand by my statement that a lot of it is still entertaining. Grant Morrison still writes for them, and I suppose as long as he can tolerate it I can.
Anyways, lol
Charlemagne's Brain |
Yeah Planetary is what made me start reading superhero comics again. The whole Wildstorm universe was the last bastion of me giving a s!@* about superheroes. Warren Ellis is the Wild Storm Stan Lee. His run on the Authority is like the definitive take on the global superteam. His Thunderbolts is also basically Thunderbolts All Stars.
Edit: Okay, anyway, game discussion not comics chat.
DajellyMan |
If you havnt read fiery kirkmans invincible... It's the greatest superhero comic in th universe. I havnt read te authority but I hv a friend who keeps telling me I should he loves it. But, sorry, it's hard to stop once it starts!
So this drow lady, if she starts like, messing s$@! up in town... There's no way we would be associated with that right? I mean... It's not out fault
