Since I had you guys level up you are at the new level as of now. You are correct though that most of the time I have you rest/sleep before you get the new level. Call it Christmas spirit.

There is no real time table so no need to rush, but just know that I am not a fan of 1 encounter a day so you can nuke everything and not worry about following encounters. Rn not that in kingmaker for exploration. Caster used all high level spells in the first 2 rounds, combat over, sleep and repeat. I do want you to be able to take your time with the sandbox style right now and if you want to go to other areas not listed I am good with that as well. For example if you had a specific friend or family you wanted to visit or check on please say so.

Oriana is good with moving. At some point, she would like to swing by her home to see if her family is there. But they could just as easily be at the garrison etc.

Like Mael, if Garith and the majority say to rest first, she will rest and formulate some kind of plan in the meanwhile.

Ryu a couple of things. First of all I labeled the combat as surprise round as the tieflings did not notice you or Zeriax. They were aware that there was a group outside the walls of the library so thought this was the best course of action.

As it was run with a surprise round you can not take readied actions out of combat. It does not work that way. Readied actions are a phase of combat interrupting the normal flow of initiative. As you are not in initiative you can not ready an action.

Second the cavalier only used a standard action to demoralize everyone not a full round action like you are suggesting. I have the stats for Chaleb already with the premade tactics.

Third, I am sorry you have not experienced the hard corner rule in the past but it is in the rulebook and linked as Garith did above.

Fourth I would still like you to please show me your attack modifiers to get to +11.

Fifth please post in the discussion thread if you have a question instead of the campaign thread. Small questions as part of your action are fine but not whole posts.

BAB - 3; Current Dexterity Modifier - 6; -1 for Power attack; +2 for flanking, +1 for being adjacent to two enemies.

I didn't factor in the variable for being shaken because it didn't seem very intimidating. Also, I wasn't sure if that variable was in play until I knew the ruling on the use of Dazzling Display which you said it was. If you had other variables in play, it was confused because they weren't mentioned.

Whether or not you are ruling that preparing to attack someone as a readied action can't work unless you are already in combat is one thing. However, I did have the sword out, and was prepared to attack.

If I knew about the rule about corners, I would not have bothered to take that move.

That said, I would have been where I was and just attacked the enemy next to me as it would have been impossible to move and attack and just attacked from K:4 on the enemy at K:5.

Since are you ruling that the Dazzling Display happened without being able to be interrupted, and that we all got penalized by it, then my new modifier to attack the guy next to me is only +6.

It's probably likely that the critical didn't confirm, then.

Oh well.

So I'm stuck at K:4 when I made the attack with the natural 20 for a total of 26 to hit.


Gabe I am not retconning the last round. I know you don't want to hear this but we are moving forward and leaving things where they are currently. This is not trying to hamstring you. It more about expediting the combat and moving on. Like I said originally you can keep you attack for this round on J:6 if you want.

Hello. I have another question.

As it stands somehow Ryu is considered "Down" but I went back and read the posts and I think there was some sort of error.

GM, as you know, when Ryu raged his Dexterity jumped to 22; that puts his AC from 17 to 19. And as stated earlier, he gains a +1 to AC when adjacent to two or more enemies.

I double checked, but it looks like the Sneak Attack in Round 1 would have hit an AC of 18, but like I said - with the Rage and Barbarian Special Ability "Crowd Control" it would have needed to have hit a 20.

I think that means I should have taken only a total of 23 damage and I'd still be up. But I may have missed something, though. If I did, I'm sorry about that.

Also, I'm sorry I didn't post something sooner, but didn't look until just recently.

I can be down if you me to, but I'm just confused how it happened is all.

In This Thread here, it suggests no AoO as LoH is a Su ability. It is a standard action as it's targeting Ryu, but there is no spell cast, which is what provokes with a clw spell

That look right?

Also, Ryu, sorry for forgetting to bastion in my first offensive action... next big fight I'll try to remember to. Guys...

Paizo Facebook page referred a Power outage.

I went onto Facebook as well and started to follow the Paizo site.

Not only was the site down for a bit, but I observed that it was also “on and off” for a while, allowing some posts to go up; some posts to go up but get “eaten” and other posts couldn’t get up.

If it happens again, I'd recommend just checking the Facebook page, just to be sure, because chances are that even if their server is down in some places, they can at least give us details on a Facebook page so long as they have a cell phone handy.

ouch... sorry for your troubles... I hate when things pile up like that... hope things get better for you soon.


They will be fine as I have learned how to fix the furnace myself it just takes time to do it completely. Saves a large bill but takes the night. The car will be back tomorrow so things will be normal for the weekend but just stressful right now.

Looking at the party makeup, we got:
Garith: Heavy tank with respectable damage.
Mael: Heavy/reach damage Full divine caster
Pakak: Wizard (full arcane)
Ryu: Melee striker/skirmisher
Zeriax: Artillery/trapfinder (non-squishie)

So we could probably take almost ANY character, cause we aren't really missing anything at this point, are we?

Garith has detailed it pretty clearly I guess - the group seems well rounded as it is, so I don't think I have any 'original' suggestion to throw out there.

Maelchar is full divine but he is focused on melee - with Oriana leaving I do think we could benefit from a dedicated divine caster in the long run, as we seem to be lacking somewhat in the buffs department, as well as a strong way to deal with ailments like poison, stat damage, etc., in a consistent way. Or at least, someone that would work as a complement to Maelchar's divine powers.

Of course with so many of us in the martial department, a Bard would do wonders :D

Would there be any interest in inviting someone from other games we are in? According to some criteria? Though sometimes fresh blood is also welcome :D
