I think I can use a wand of daylight, but with the scale, those who don't have darkvision can gain it for like 18 hours each or something.. still, be happy to carry it and use if it we need it. how many charges are there remaining in the wand of daylight?

If you want to write that Zeriax knocks Reiko out cold, I won't mind. I don't have an ego about my characters taking their lumps. She wanted to show some of what she could do, mission accomplished. So have fun. :) Just know that she is the energizer bunny - she doesn't quit until you put her down for the count... and she'll respect a solid beating.

Hey Garith, I think you may still have an error on the sheet. It says:

8 Potion Less Resto

I believe those numbers should be switched.

Also, if you'd like Reiko to carry any of CSW or CLW healing pots, please let me know. You had mentioned doling them out to the melee characters but I wasn't sure if you meant that in regards to the original crew or the 'late additions'. :)

Dang it, having computer problems and can't access maptools right now. Downloaded a new JavaScript for my wife for her work and up have to restore to old settings. May not get an update tonight. Sorry about this.


Correction definitely no map update tonight as I work on this I will let you guys know when I am back up and running with maptools. Having to completely reinstall and copy files over if they transfer to a new version. If not it may take a couple of days for me to get every up and running again with icons and maps.


It seems that maptools is not compliant with Java 7 and I cant figure out how to uninstall and reinstall java 6. Anyone tech savvy that can help?

Ooof. I had that issue a few years back. I ended up maintaining a copy of java 6. As I recall, when I got the error screen, there was a way to navigate to the .exe file. I just had to navigate to where I kept the java 6 files and it worked once again. I was just looking through the maptools interface and I don't see a way to link to the java folder from there.

RP tools website should tell you what the most recent version of java that maptools will work with. If it's not compatible, then you have to do a search (maybe check google) for how to uninstall the version you have and reinstall one that is compatible...

I have been going around for ages to try and find a character that can fit the bill, when it comes out to taking down specific targets in a combat - not necessarily the BBEG, but the guy in the back healing him, or lobbing spells at the group, or whatever - there's a nasty wizard in the back? I'll shut him down; A flying mook, leave it to me, and so forth, while the bulk of the group takes down the brutes and BBEG.

I gotta say it is not easy to do that, and I am not sure Zeriax can perform in that role as well as I would like - I think Zen Archers are MUCH more versatile than people give them credit for - just look at ma monk: he can Heal (skill), Sense Motive, Intimidate (poorly), Stealth, Disable Device, AND shoot his arrows for some pain - that's versatility in my book, but as far as taking down the specific nasty, I'm not sure.

I once built a character that tried to accomplish that - Thug/Scout with an Earthbreaker - he would acrobatic in, than BAM - hit for a ton (he had STR 18), and stack debuffs on the bad guy - wasn't bad, but still, he lacked the feats to be totally effective. By now I am kinda thinking a Fighter (with all those sweet feats), or perhaps a Monk (Tetori anyone?), can be built like that, with step up and all those along that line.

Just a little rant cause I had a couple of minutes in my hands :D

Speaking of Mythic, I jsut found THIS!
Retributive Reach (Ex): Treat your reach as 5 feet greater than normal for the purpose of determining whether or not you can make an attack of opportunity. If a creature provokes an attack of opportunity within this area of increased reach, you can expend one use of mythic power to gain a bonus equal to your tier on the attack roll and damage roll of the attack of opportunity.
and btw: Ever Ready (Ex): Whenever you make an attack of opportunity, you gain a bonus on the attack and damage rolls equal to your mythic tier. You can make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed, even if you don't have the Combat Reflexes feat. At 3rd, 6th, and 9th tier, the number of attacks of opportunity you can make each round increases by one.
May wait on Ever-ready till a later tier than 2 so i can snag Fast-healing for 50 HP worht of healing for a mythic point!


There are plenty of options available to everyone based on the feats and powers available. Should be interesting to see what happens and what direction everyone takes. Gald to see you excited and perusing the material already.

Yeah, I've been reading too, but not as excited... I guess Heirophant wasn't the right path for Maelchar really... it's mostly geared more toward druids and clerics, and less for a fighting oracle... I'm sure I can find something eventually I guess, just nothing really exciting...

For Zeriax there are some craaaaazy powers in Mythic. I think mostly I have to decide between shoring up defenses or pumping offense to insanity :D

But I feel like taking the power that increases my speed a further 30 or 40' ;)


MAelchar you are not locked in yet o you can chooe any of the options. I don't think the archmage would work that well for you but you could still choose it if you wanted to. I could e you going a couple of ways if you wanted to focus on defense or offense Guardian or Champion respectively.

Zeriax, you are not allowed to boost your offense any higher. ;p A higher speed to ru away and leave your companion is good though.

I played through Blackcrag with a mythic ZA Monk (though with a different path than yours). It was quite satisfying. :)

I will say this about the mythic experience to all players - be sure to balance your abilities. Resist the temptation to go with an extreme mythic offensive build. Against normals, it is grand. But against mythic baddies - who will have all the same advantages we have - it becomes a game of rocket-tag. Had our team in Blackcrag gone with a few more defensive abilities, some fights would have been a great deal better and we would have come out ahead more easily. As it was, a number of battles were harder than they should have been and we were on our heels and scrambling to pull out a win. Our offensive oomph... left us with something of a glass jaw when the baddies won initiative and pulled their own nasty tricks from the book.

Just food for thought.

As lost as I've been thanks to RL and lack of focus, I'll happily take advice from others on how best to do a mythic arch mage build for Pakak. I think at this point, Mr. Ironwall WILL be very tempted by the offensive... more spells to cast more often, and spells that can bypass the multitude of immunities demons have.

Yeah, I've been reading too, but not as excited... I guess Heirophant wasn't the right path for Maelchar really... it's mostly geared more toward druids and clerics, and less for a fighting oracle... I'm sure I can find something eventually I guess, just nothing really exciting...

You could always take the Dual Path feat.

I will try to help as well to answer questions or give advice. It would be more along the lines of what do you want to accomplish at this level and I will give some recommendations. For Pakak I would think that the feat would be mythic spellcasting to give access to mythic spells. Which spells though would be up to him.
