"Actually, no, in some cases where opinion is all that one has that might be true. However, when there is real information available to make choices on, then opinions should be reviewed and changed as necessary. Taking action to harm the group , is usually what the opposition does and an unwillingness to recognize a poor choice would get you cast out of a tribe in some places."
"Enjoy your scouting..."
Kalona will hop off the skeleton and go to the circle and walk around it examining each circle in turn. Though occassionaly she pauses to glance around the room or listen in a somewhat nervous manner.

As Llvenoc moves down the stair; though being stone; they creak and a ill wind blows his clothes and hair yet cannot be felt; things swirl about the lab as if a wind was blowing; but no one can feel it. It even ruffles Kalonas feathers and the skeletons sway a bit.
a dull moan can be heard almost in harmony with the grinding and splash of the immense ferris wheel with those bodies chained to it and the percolating of the giant brass kettles.
it took only a moment; then dread stillness and silence as the normal sounds of the room take over...a rumble up above occurs and dust and some sand falls from the cieling; a bit of dirt and rubble comes from the stair leading up.
Llvenoc
the stairs are 10 ft wide; go down at 45 degree angle 30 to a iron banded door with a closed and shudder; there appears to be a sturdy lock.
In the Mindlink There is a iron banded door here at the bottom. Looks like it has a sturdy lock. Thoron can you check it out? Is everyone up there ready to move?

,... a lot of stuff about magic symbols,...
VERY cool! Thx for the info!
Kemnebi notices his familiar watching the large black bird with undisguised interest. Then he notices what Kalona is doing. He wanders nearer.
"What is it Kalona? Do you know these symbols? There are a few I don't recognize. Actually, there are more than a few,..."
Reaching into his pack, he pulls out some rolled vellum and charcoal sticks, and hastily begins copying down what he sees on the floor.

"What is it Kalona? Do you know these symbols? There are a few I don't recognize. Actually, there are more than a few,..."

"Oh, I thought it might be...never mind. These symbols? Well, I am truly not very good with such things, fluttering her wings as if to say 'no hands', but I have seen some members of tribes and even a dark-skinned elf or two make use of such circles. So I thought I would look and see if I recognized anything." up to Val if I recognize anything
Noticing June seems to follow Kemnebi's every move. She looks over at her.
"Say June, you and your sister seem to have some rather unusual abilities for humans. Given where that 'boost' to the good mage's power came from, I would guess your not from around...these parts." Glances at Kemnebi. "I dont suppose you have the ability to provide some additional level of protection from...prying eyes would you?" Kalona's view shifts for a second, she ruffles her feathers a bit then looks back at June.

"Certainly though it did seem somewhat odd, though apparently not to this group, to see an elf of the darkskin tribe, those-who-lord-underground, that-which-enslaves-all, children-of-the-spider-like, working together so well after they just met. I had thought there might be some animosity there or even some old grudges, but I guess the information Old Rat gave me was incomplete. What an interesting story this will be. A tale of new friends. How exciting. I certainly hope the other dwarfs appreciate it."
Just remember in your telling of your story that A elf scribbled on the alter and the dwarf smashed it in twain. We are here to complete a mission and his pointed ears be damned we have a common foe. Never let it be said that a dwarf hindered when there was such an important task at hand.

Namaste; can you interevene before I silence the lot of them; this talk is driving me crazy; sounds like old washwomen bickering...
The room down the stairs seems like a guardroom; probably where these ghouls came from; it seems to have many exits; it is at the limit of my ability of farsight.

<rubs her temples>
You are correct that is were my old party's foe's came from
Kosan Silveraxe
What you did was needless risk Drow and Dwarf; strange times for such allies; but, silly mortal; do you not know that a goddess of her strength can see those around her shrines and altars; you have drawn her attention where you did not have it before. As my sister and I look into the ether we do see the eyes upon us <shudder> and know that now things are much more dangerous.
Astinos should have done the deed or another of you priests; Paladins are dedicated in the war against gods and are not taken as an affront to the dieties person; but a challenge to her mortal champions.
Sorry My lady I saw a need to move us from this room with all haste to complete our mission. I saw the drow scribbling on the alter and helped him destroy it faster so that we can continue our mission. If you wish I can deal with the Shrine, circle, sword & armor also if that will expedite our mission?
Kosan Silveraxe
you believe it to be a wand dealing with elemental cold, and hold yet still some charges; perhaps the dwarf saw or heard it used; that would help.

Again, looking warily about the room, eyes focused on something else...a shiver goes up her feathers and she goes back to looking at the circle. "oh; we do?, well we probably are not good at it yet; we have only been human for a few hours" <said with shyness and a small blush>
uhm; I know something about magic cirles and things. Uhm; that symbol <she points> that looks like a tack or pin over a pi symbol; that is inflict; depending on how it is oriented it does the infliction inside or outside the circle; this one I think is inside. so the symbol on the left of it is inflicted though you have to read it right <by looking you three all agree that the symbols were written counter clockwise starting at the Eye at the top. Other than that I know that the way a circle is drawn is important; I agree with you two; this looks like a summoning circle; to summon power; that dragon symbol <and you guys agree from your knowledge> is the symbol for higher magic power, I have seen it in circles and glyphs with what you call hazard or seriously strong power.
If need be; I could tell you all the symbols, but there would be a cost involved, not by my choice mind you. Also; Namaste could use her "Bat" to discover such things as well.
forgive me if I have been to forward, hubris, I know; am trying <turns away; little tear>
<it is pretty obvious to you guys that whoever drew this circle was not this dead necromancer nor the same person that did the work making the shrine and altar.>

general info you three know in June's text; on thing you know about circles is that only summoning circles used in creation; and protection circles dont have lines cutting them. Your culture uses circles mostly for protection and for long distance communication kind of like a telephone; circles can be used to communicate over distance to another circle.

ok; your cultural knowledge about circles is also that this is probably a creation circle though other circles are drawn similar to this might be protections from evil; good; devils; you dont see any of those sort of symbols here. You see a permanency symbol. You also think that whatever is put in here gets an aura of fire, and your guess looking at this whole room after discussing it with Kalona and June is this though most of what Kalona gives you is intutive; his people deal with spirits; zombies and skellies are practically unheard of, June has a general knowledge; but think of her like Albert Einstien; she knows how the world was created, but this basic math stuff she doesnt seem to know the lower math details:
Kenebi
ok; your culture is steeped in undead and clerical and arcan magic; so here is your best guess; which is very good btw :)
The necromancer mixes chemicals and puts them in the brass boilers; they and some magic are infused and goes to the pool and the magic fluid is probably changed for affecting different undead; then the bodies are put on the wheel and over time infused with the chemicals; the bodies are then taken to the circle; and the circle is activated; probably makes the undead stronger, faster, more resistant <think corpse crafter feats from liber mortis>
The corpse is then placed on the altar and given a semblance of life

hmm; this is more my sister area; having watched her it seems like it comes from an item; I have seen her channel no diefic power herself or cast any spells or use any inate powers; I am guessing an item; which I do not know. I have heard of Bards that have her ability to affect even the dead; seeing the music and dancing lead me to consider that as most likely. I think an item usuable by someone proficient in music.

this champion had an aura; a bad one, the wand did two cone of cold spells, the sword had some black fire about it and gave wasting wounds like it drank life and gave vitality to the champion, it also cut through armor and defenses like a hot knife through butter and in one swing you swore it has teeth and fangs; seems like that sword is alive; the armor made the guy very hard to damage and his agility was amazing considering it is heavy armor.

Thx Val! This is great. I luv the amount of effort and details you put into things like this! No wonder your table game has been running for so long!:)
Kemnebi continues to scribble copies of the symbols in the magic circle as June, Kalona and he compare notes and knowledge. WHen he has finished sketching the entire circle, being careful to keep the orientation of all the symbols correct, he begins looking around the room. His feline face scruntches up in concentration. Even his familiar is is unusually still as teh wizard begins looking from the circle, to the altar's remains, to the shattered alchemical apparatus, to the broken, still squeaking, wheel. He seems completely oblivious to the words of anyone else in the room as he mutters to himself, drawing lines in the air.
"Ok. Not sure of the exact order,... But if the chemicals were prepared here, probably because of short-lived potency, then the bodies were prepared and subjected to chemical treatment for a duration,... probably for strengthening and enhancing the body, then the circle was used for infusing the bodies with mystical energy, also possibly infusing them with mystically enhanced abilities, then the altar was used to animate the forms with a semblance of life,..."
The mage, despite his protest about making haste moments earlier, seems quite prepared to stay here and study this room for a while. His muttered examinations and conclusions comes to an abrupt halt. He blinks. Twice.
Both he and his familiar's heads turn, very slowly, to look at June.
"Um,... DId you say, that you've only been human, for a few hours?" He asks softly.

Kalona winks at June. Then flies back up to a Skeleton's shoulder. A different skeleton will move over to the stair case that Llevnoc went down and watch down that way. It will be slightly off to the side so as not to block the passage.

Humans; well, my sister and I have been imprisoned in a realm where time runs much slower; the human race was in its infancy; we have watched you from time to time; but generally your race is....uninteresting, until late. To assist you in your quest, I have adopted this form; I find it comfortable and pleasing; if it does not please you; I can assume another.
I am not sure why suddenly we are getting such stares; its not like I am the only shapechanger here; <haha> as at least four others of you are as well; and if you want to cast cryptic stares <waves a non challant, uncaring hand at Nebibit> the catpeople are selfish at best; among the upper plains there are no cat races as there are say; dog races like Hound Archons; or bird/winged races.
Perhaps we should look instead to the Drow; a most evil race that practices blood sacrifice; it is not I nor my sister who would bring back their bloodthirsty goddess, yet there two of them are; ask them who they worship and revere before you look sideways at my sister or I.
Consider again our rogue Thoronhen; quiet fellow; more than I would think for a member of his guild; do you know his guild; if you did perhaps you would not be so friendly.
so you have a choice; we all are the heroes who responded to help in this quest with all our different skills and powers; it is we who are here; so choose.

"Wha,.. no,.. of course not!" Kemnebi replies fervently as he reaches down and raises June to her feet.
His familiar turns to snap at him, looking as if she will take a chunk out of his ear, then pauses for a moment as if thinking, and settles back onto his shoulder, watching the interchange intently.
"Obviously I am not one who should be judgmental of how others look. To me an elf or a dwarf look as odd as a human. No offense",... He adds as an afterthought over his shoulder at the group, keeping his eyes locked on June.
"It IS the spirit that matters, and any who think otherwise,... well, they're just wrong." He says softly. "I don't know why you'd choose to accompany me after you have experienced all that you say you have seen. But I DO appreciate all that you have done. And I would have to be a cad, or worse, to spurn your offer of assistance,... and your company." He says with a grin, hoping to see her beautiful furry face light up with that smile,...
"And, you do please me, I mean the form is pleasing, I mean both, or either! Oh,... you know what I mean,..." He mumbles, still staring into her green eyes, his ears twitching in frustration.
His familiar looks over to Nebibit, and rolls her eyes upwards in a decidedly un-feline gesture,...

As to the wand in my earlier fight it shot out a few cone of colds that hurt my friends severely.
The Sword created some sort of black fire around the blade and when you were hit with it it felt as if it sucked your soul and I think it healed the champion who wielded it. It also cut through our armor and defensive magics as if they were cheese cloth. Vampiric I'd say and evil. Also once I could have sworn I saw teeth and fangs appear on the sword as it killed one of my companions. I think it is sentient.
The armor was very hard to hit and the champion had great agility as if it were not heavy armor at all.
Also the champion had an aura about him that I could feel but not make out.

I had to wait for my next paycheck to buy a new one and get the beast back up and running again. I'm still in the process of getting everything restored again. Bear with me, please, and I'll catch up on the last couple pages of posts through the day tomorrow and try to get Namaste back into the conversation sometime tomorrow.
No worries Namaste. Was beginning to think the swine flue, or gnomish terrorists got you. Sorry your computer crashed. See you back in the game soon soon.
