DMVoV - could you add a some info about each of the trainers under the Campaign Info tab? I know a little about them, obviously Mutumbo keeps getting mentioned, but I was not here when the campaign first started and am not sure which one would be best for the training write up. (I read it all, but it was quite a while ago and do not even remember who each of the trainers is.) I assume that each of them has some specialty - grappling, agility, etc - which would be useful for our descriptions.

Here's the Cliff notes:
Mtumbo - big tattooed Mwangi gent who is a Tetori.
Fangul - scarred Ulfen gent who focuses more on taking blows and dishing them back with brutal efficiency.
the Harrower - lithe lady who performs harrowings, and is the more dextrous of the three. Based on the ship battle you can guess she's got some Qinggong abilities traded in.
Master Gond - old man, and you haven't seen him in action yet. But he'd be the more focused / spiritual of them.
I'll put something up in the Campaign info later.

So I just realized something about Javi's intended build. I had built him out thinking that the Two-Weapon Feint tree required Improved Feint, but it doesn't.
What are the chances you'd allow me to swap out Improved Feint for Two-Weapon Feint when we hit the next level? My goal was always to use the Two-Weapon Feint angle once he was able to use it.
I realize I've already used Improved Feint in a number of combats, so let me know if you're uncomfortable with this type of "retrofit", Voice. I'm just kind of kicking myself for this type of oversight.
Javi the Wasp
Hmmm.. so you don't have a preference on whether i should do it now or at level up?
Javi the Wasp
Lol. Fair enough.
I just switched out Improved Feint for Two-Weapon fighting, which will allow Two-Weapon Feint to be picked up next level. :)
And now there's no feat overlap.

Just a quick FYI - I'll be out of town and away from the internet for about 48 hours from the time of this post. Disappearing into the suburbs for the weekend.
I'll be back on Sunday eve my time to update the map and fight for round 1. I'm pausing for Javi to take action so that I can update both maps at the same time and keep things simpler for me.
Javi the Wasp
Cool, thanks for the heads up. Have fun in the 'burbs.
Javi the Wasp
very nice. I got nothing to add. Though I particularly enjoyed the Ballenwood entry. :)
We're just waiting on Nisk in the fight?
Javi the Wasp
I'll give him a while so I can react to his actions instead of fighting two independent little fights. Javi is kind of built to use teamwork.

@TCG (Gorak), i was thinking about your frustration with your build. I do think part of your frustration is some general not-great rolls (I scrolled back through the few fights you've been in).
Other than that, I had two thoughts (and keep in mind that this comes from someone who tends to view mechanics from an optimizing p.o.v).
The first thing is ti wouldn't' kill you to have a slightly higher STR. Wildshaping your STR up is nice, but if its' already fairly high, it should push your attack/cmb rolls up a bit more. You'd obviously have to take a hit somewhere else, so you may not want to do that, but it's worth a thought.
Secondly, have you considered taking at least one level of Maneuver Master as we gain levels? With your emphasis on shifting into different animal forms, it could be fun if you had the ability to have a few Combat maneuver feats in the bag to use thematically -- as well as be able to spam out a few combat maneuvers in a round. Change to gorilla > Grapple a fool twice in one round. Change to a kangaroo > double-leg-kick-Bullrush a fool across the room, then do the same to his friend. I could see you having some serious fun with Grapple, Trip, and Bullrush.
I don't know, just a few thoughts.
Also, DM, we anywhere near a level up? :D
Javi the Wasp
For the record, 100% of the ninjas voted a) that you be kept on-board and b) that we have sandwiches catered for the next team meeting. :)
Glad you're back, btw... beating up Taldan gents just ain't the same without ya.
DM - Voice of the Voiceless
Gorak - fighting while shifted into a combat form would see some improvement, as you'd be getting multiple attacks from the animal form. Buffing would make a difference as well, though I think that you'll definitely scale a bit better as level ups start to come into play.
Level up will be the next increment given - though still maybe one big fight / test / activity away.

I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for the input.

Just a heads up. My family and i are heading out of town for an extended weekend. Be out of pocket tomorrow morning through some time wednesday. Not sure if I'll be available to post or not, so feel free to NPC/play Javi if it needs doing.
Definitely don't want the game to slow on my account.

Very intereesting idea, Ryuko. When are you wanting to kick it off?
Frakdar Stonefist
For those of you who didn't already participate and may be interested:
I like the idea, but really should not join any more campaigns right now. I think I am in 13 active ones which is a bit more than I should be doing. Also considering trying my hand at DMing in the near future. Have a huge module to convert to PF first though.

I know how this is. I'm more DM than I am player, but I'm DMing 5 games now and playing in 3. Still, the wolves games don't take much for me, so there's that at least.

Probably an appropriate juncture to do a cross-post to my DM'ed PbPs about an interruption to my posting schedule that is imminent.
My wife is about 37 weeks pregnant, which basically means that the bun is fully cooked and ready to pop at any time. This means that at some point in the next 1 day to 4 weeks I will suddenly and without notice disappear completely from the interwebs. I can't say when or for how long, but it will probably knock me out for up to a week or so before my wife and I get back on our feet and I'm of somewhat sound and untired enough mind to jump back online.
So if I do vanish, please don't fret as I shall return :) I would just ask for some patience for a while as we adjust to the new baby floating around. I'll get ourselves sorted at home first, then recommence with the DM'ing once we're all squared away and back in some sort of a new-born 'sequence' again.
Javi the Wasp
Hey, congrats, man! Wonderful news.
And thanks for the heads up. I guess this is probably a good time to say that I've got my own baby on the way (though my wife's not due until late June/early July). Same disclaimer as DMVoV.
Again, congrats, man.
DM - Voice of the Voiceless
Birth occurred yesterday and we're getting back into the 'newborn parents' groove. It wasn't necessarily as smooth as one could have hoped, but the result can't be questioned ;)
All things considered should hopefully be back in our own home as of tomorrow. Will see how the home-life settles out before committing to a specific time for wading back online so will keep you posted on when that occurs and we'll start this wee beastie back up.
DM - Voice of the Voiceless
Back home with wife and baby boy and things continue to go well. You might have noticed that I've stepped back into the PbPs that I play in; and if things continue to go well I'll be back DMing in the next couple of days.
Just want to make sure that when I do re-start that I'm able to commit wholehearted and get things rolling with the quality and focus that I'd like.
So if I can test your patience for just a mite longer that would be much appreciated.
Javi the Wasp
I'm fine waiting. Family first, man.
Javi the Wasp
Frakdar, what trap door are you talking about in the game thread? I know we came in through one, but that's closed now, right?
Frakdar Stonefist
As an FYI for all, I may be off the boards from Friday the 18th until Monday the 28th. I have attempted to download a program which allows me to tether my PC through my Iphone, but do not know whether it will work where I am going. Thus, I hope to keep up with my characters, but if I fall behind, feel free to DMPC me as necessary.
DM - Voice of the Voiceless
No problems Frakdar.
As a note - I've turned Nisk into an inactive character. Ryuko has only posted for him once in the last month, though I know he's been active elsewhere on the boards. That's fine enough if his interest has waned, and I've removed him to signify that.
So in thread (as I have been doing with this fight) descriptions and content will be revised to reflect 5 players only.
