And as you ask the question, you immediatly fall unconscious, as your mind is assaulted with a racking pain.

Rounds unconscious: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Fukuopicus chuckles, quite cheerfully. "I don't like your tone."

Fun? Excitement? What are these places you mention? You don't really look like a gnome. That is usually what my people want. So, you want some excitement, is there some way we can help provide this for you?"

Sighing internally at Maxwell, he must be a natural at aggravating everything...

I was going to suggest you detect her alignment to get a sense what fun might mean for her... But your inquisitor is unconscious...

She cocks her head at Suzumaru. "Actually, yes you can! Survive my master's game, and it will make me ever so happy!" She giggles, giddy like a child. "Adventurers from those places tried to destroy my master and I, and tried to fight off his forces... But all have failed, and their worlds have been crushed. We want a group who could stand up to us! You six for example..."

Since I said I was going to heal someone before people fell unconscious, this is for Hamish

Pulling out his wand, Raphael taps Hamish.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 +5 from life link. There will be more healing after some lesser restorations.

Maxwell then falls unconscious. Raphael blinks. Again? He kneels next to to the man, checking that he's still alive.

Heal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 I'm guessing that's enough to know he's still alive, just unconscious?

He then pulls out some smelling salts and waves them under Maxwell's nose.

Maxwell, you get another save. Also yay! This is the first time I've bought smelling salts and actually gotten to use them.

Raphael can cast Detect Evil as a first level spell. But to be honest, it seems like a waste since he seems pretty evil to me.

Raphael looks at his companions, trying to grab someone's attention and get them to hold the vial of smelling salts under Maxwell's nose. Unless we get attacked, Raphael will probably only spend a couple of more uses of it before giving up and letting Maxwell sleep it off.

He then continues to silently heal his companions, still not sure what to make of this stranger being who is clearly enjoying toying with them.

So Hamish has taken 2 Con damage, I believe he said. Jean I think was good due to poison immunity. Maxwell has 1. I have 4. Suzumaru was, I think, 3 for failing the first save before she got her barrier up?

Hamish: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Raphael: 1d4 ⇒ 2 *sigh* If only the two had been reversed
Suzumaru: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Maxwell: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Raphael: 1d4 ⇒ 1 ...these dice rolls were in a poorly chosen order
I don't feel like being mocked by the dice, but he casts again for his last Con point. There goes most of my 2nd level spells for today

He follows this all up with a channel energy.

Channel: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 3, 3) = 17 +10 for me and Suzumaru

How are people doing now?

Pit Fiend

I desperately hope you all didn't stare at her in silence for about 16 rounds ;) She'd find that boring. Speaking of boring, I wonder what alignment the Joker would appear as if an inquisitor scrolled through all of them... Food for thought (since when Hamish gets up, he is bound to look at her with all of them).

"So. Games have rules and rewards. What are the rules to your game for us? Also, when we win what is our prize, other than saving this world and satisfaction at a job well done? Also since, our friend over here likes to aggravate people and things, might we start on the 'morrow. We'll try and talk him into being less of an annoyance." stalls Suzumaru as Raphael begins the healing process.

Pit Fiend

The creature's eyes twinkle with obvious amusement. "You are obviously the smartest in your group. Here are the rules:

You have exactly two weeks before my master and I start to open the portals to this universe's planes of Hell, Abaddon, and the Abyss. My master had me inspect this "Worldwound" of yours, and I could say that I was sorely unimpressed by the activity there. It was FAR too small to cause any real damage. No, I am talking about opening portals as large as your Mwangi Express! Now doesn't that sound like fun?

But that's not the only information you get about this game, trust me I'm more generous than that! The goal is to stop us BEFORE that happens This island is filled with dungeon complexes not unlike my master's Tomb here. They provide... minor amusement, but the real fun is the one we are in now."

She gives a small giggle before continuing. ""My master and I will be waiting somewhere within this Tomb. There, you will find a map to a specific dungeon that contains a means of fighting us. I'm sorry to say, but even your, so called living god 'Razmir' will find it hard to confront us at this moment in time. Even I could crush all of you in a heartbeat, but... that's no fun!

Find my master and I, get the map, use it to find a means of defeating us, and then when all is said and done, you have the opportunity to fight Acererak, a TRUE god!
...
And his faithful servant of course. Now doesn't that seem like the stuff of legend? The sort of thing heroes were born and bred to do? Of course if you think the reward of saving your world and going down in history is too small, you could keep the island when all is said and done.

One rule though." All of a sudden, the figure straightens up and takes a deathly serious tone. "If anyone but you seven -the goat and gorgeous vampire included- decide to attempt to search my master's Tomb, we will stop this game and open the gates to the evil planes early. We have had thousands of years to prepare this game, and we will not have it ruined by outsiders! Any other questions?"

Maxwell, you should be awake at this point.

"Yes. What is in it for you? Opening portals to the demon planes does sound interesting as a theoretical idea, but after a while it just makes everything blend together in one giant blur of... and how is that interesting anymore? What do you gain by destroying a world with demons? You can't really control them in the long run, and eventually the other gods, and not that silly Razmir fella, will get annoyed enough to intervene."

Will Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

I've heard that there is a thing called Planescape...

There's a... thing called the Lady of Pain. Not much is known about her, save for the fact that she figured out a way to keep the GODS out of her city of Sigil...

The Duchess laughs at your comment Suzu. "Ah, you know, you have a really good point. The only problem is with your theory is, SHUT UP!" You suddenly feel light headed Suzu, and the world fades to black as YOUR mind is pummeled with telekinetic energy.

Rounds unconscious: 1d4 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

"When will mortals learn not to anger an illithid? It never ends well for them..." She shakes her head, barely looking at Suzumaru. "Do the rest of you honestly believe my master would have started up this game if he hadn't a way of blocking the gods for some time? Before he ascended, he studied the magics of a place called Sigil. The gods themselves cannot intervene with our game, but their servants, such as some of you, CAN play. Now if you all are going to rest, remember that you are on a time limit... and my master doesn't like to be kept waiting." With that, she slowly becomes translucent and fades out of sight.

With that it seems like it may be a good idea to comeback in the morning after we are all refreshed.

A little after a minute, Suzu sits up groggily."What a rude creature. If our gods can defeat Rovagug when they work together, I'm fairly sure they can handle her and her master. I think she's afraid of us. Let's go take a nap so Father Raphael can recover some of his spell casting abilities and maybe in the morning we can discuss tactics to handle our investigation better."

Sadly, no dark vision.

Glad that that strange creature who likes knocking his companions unconscious is now gone, Raphael stands up, a little less tense.

"I still have a number of other spells. Enough that it may not make the most sense to rest just for me. But at the very least, I'd like to see if that lever did anything actually useful."

With that, Raphael walks back to where the lever was, retrieves his string, and attempts to see if pulling it served any other purpose.

There is the possibility that they are just not what we would define as sane and wouldn't care. Given our time limit I think it's best we at least poke around a bit. Raphael, Hamish and I should fare reasonably well if you want to stay out here with Maxwell, Su, and I don't think we can afford to waste much time.

Standing up, she dusts off her pants and tunic, then takes a count mentally of what she needs to do. 1.Save the world. 2.Teach Octoface a lesson in manners. 3.Take new island out for an inter dimensional spin. Did my perception on the box in the wall find anything?

Also, the problem with splitting the party with half the group sleeping is that then there's an awkward time difference between the two groups, which could be very boring for the group that sleeps depending on how it's handled.

Pit Fiend

You did not find anything else related to the box on the wall. I was just suggesting you know... It's not like that would cause a TPK or anything ;) But you all are going to have to figure something out then.

I vote we try to get into the dungeon first. Maybe we can camp in the first room or two. Lets keep on down the hall way.

Party split = No thanks. Just role playing Suzu's indignation that Max would suggest Harvey is a bigger liability than Max himself, so far.

"I don't like the look of this here creature though. Given this place's love of summoning things, it wouldn't surprise me if it's somehow trapped."

Raphael waves his hand to examine the painting. Using up a 1st level spell to cast detect magic on the painting, focusing on the beast in the cage and any indication that it's linked to some kind of summoning trap.

"Hmmm, well, the painting doesn't appear to be magical..."

Hearing Harvey's bleating, Raphael absently reaches into his jacket to pull out another pamphlet. The thump of Suzumaru collapsing manages to pull his attention away from the painting though.

Frowning, he moves towards the gnome. I hope that duchess person...creature...thing gets bored of knocking us out soon. It really is quite tedious. Raphael then pulls out his bottle of smelling salts again, resolving to keep it in a readily accessible location from now on.

Raphael... You actually don't see anything wrong with her. If fact, if you were to determine why she fainted, judging by the claminess of her hands and bits of sweat forming on her brow, you'd say that there was nothing telekinetic that influenced this. She fainted of either fear or sudden surprise.
