Raphael has the dog repeat the act, staying inside for a bit longer before coming back out. This whole thing goes on for a total of 9 rounds. As the dog does so, he moves to look more closely at the crystals, especially the blue one.
Perception:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27Raphael is suspicious that perhaps we only want the blue crystal to be glowing when we walk through.
If he doesn't find anything to give weight to his suspicions, then in the interest of not prolonging things, he'll walk through the portal. Worst comes to worst, the group loses both it's healers in under 10 minutes of each other. ;-P
Nope, they ALL seem to be glowing whenever you get close. The dog comes back... again. Sending you a PM. Everyone else, you see him step through the portal, and disappear.

Raphael walks back through the portal.
Assuming everybody sees him reappear without incident, he says the following
Spoiler:
"There's a small room on the other side. About 10x10x10. The only thing in the room was 3 levers. My guess is that we're supposed to go in, pull the correct lever, and then go back through the portal. The wrong levers probably kill us. I also detected no poison on the levers."
Hehehe no. You see the dog was able to come back because you tied a rope to it, meaning it was connected on both sides of the portal. YOU do not have anything connecting you to the other side, meaning... There is nothing to go back to. There is no portal in the room you are in.

Oddly enough, it didn't occur to me that they might go any way other than up or down.
So to clarify, Raphael pulled the middle lever and nothing happens? If that's the case then:
Raphael returns the middle lever to its original position. Then he pulls the first lever. If nothing happens, he then pulls the last lever (without returning the first lever to its original position).
Original position, it should be mentioned, is the midway point between up and down. In fact, if you don't touch the levers for 30 seconds, they return to that position on their own... Nothing happens by the way, with that combination.
Maxwell moves up to just outside the door way. Making a perception check to see if maxwell sees anything odd about this possible entrance and if he makes any realization about the tethering with the rope.
You find yourself alone in a 10x10x10 room. On one wall, there are three levers, each in a middle position that looks like they can be lifted either up or down. There are NO other features in this room
You save! And you start to build a good ladder... in fact, as long as you keep up at this rate, you should be done in oh... 20 minutes, which is quite generous in my opinion. Have YOU ever tried to build a sturdy, 40 foot ladder under normal conditions? Can you imagine how long that would take with a couple of branches that just fell off of a tree?
"Of all the stupid things. Leave it to the godly to be the first ones ta leap into the afterlife." Hamish grumbles as he considers for a moment. "Ta hell with it."
You are now both in the same, dark 10x10x10 room, with no sign of Raphael. There are three levers on the wall which appear like they could be pushed either up or down.
