He noticed that. Which is exactly WHY he launched you in the air. The other option was to Power Word Stun you and full attack you twice... trust me you would not have survived that. (And seeing as you have less than 150 HP, could not have resisted the stun either.

Round 7 Actions

3 of the Kyton's chain attacks land this time for a total of 26 damage.
"Ooomph. That hurt! Let me smack you around some now!"exclaims Suzumaru as she takes a 5 foot step back and then concentrates on the spiritual weapon changing its target to Kyton 1, finally hurling a handful of fire at Kyton 1 as well.

Spell Resist on Kyton 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Produce Flame Touch Attack on Kyton 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Spell Resist on Kyton 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Spiritual Weapon Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Pit Fiend

And actually, seeing as this kyton failed its save against your fireball, the spiritual weapon stabs it directly to the heart, and due to the silver arrow piercing it only a second before, it cannot seem to regenerate. As it drops to the ground, the last kyton fearfully looks before all of you and releases it's chain, and raises its arms in surrender. "I surrender. Banish me, but take mercy I beg of you!" It says this in infernal before switching to common.

Going to give people a moment to think before HAmish unceremoniously executes the creature of pure sadistic evil.

Jean sighs from his high place.

Well you won't hear any objections from me! It's a devil, put it down.

Pit Fiend

That was in his thoughts. Unless you wanted to suggest that on your own...

By the way, now that the fighting has calmed down, you can see Andross sitting about 50 feet in the air, crosslegged, and looking down on you all, furiously writing notes.

Jean motions at Andross.

If you can fly, I'd like to be pulled out of this... Effect if you please.

The vampire nods to you, finishing a quick note before flying over and gently lowering you to the ground. On our way down, he motions to Maxwell's battered body. "Does he realize how long that item took to make? I"m glad I had an extra one just in case, but... I didn't expect to have to present it to you so soon..."

And with the mention of MAxwells torn corpse Hamish fires to kill.

Do you still need a roll?

Pit Fiend

Well if you're trying to coup de gras, a creature that's not helpless... yeah, you need to roll You take a massive penalty, but I'll allow the attempt, and that's only because you are out of combat.

Coup de grace? NAh, ima just full attack him from here.

1d6 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 19 Damage

1d20 + 13 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 13 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 30 Attack

1d6 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 1 = 15 Damage

IF the second one kills him he stops. If not, I'll just roll the cit confirm.

1d20 + 8 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 - 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 14 Confirm

Yeah... your arrows strike true. The first two hit it in the chest and neck respectively, knocking it unconscious, but the last one sinks easily into its skull.

Harvey walks up to Father Raphael nudging him, with a very sly wink. (You think he wants another pamphlet). Turning back to Suzumaru he addresses her,"Baaa baa beeeee baaa."

Jean walks up.

Oh thank the gods I am on the ground again. Are there any circumstances which would make these types stay around as corpses?

Not too long after the devil dies, Maxwell wakes up and the item is destroyed! Andross begrudgingly gives another one to him, whipping it out of his bag of holding before observing the bodies. "Yes, normally they would. I have a theory that because this is also technically their plane, their bodies would not dissipate. Rather, killing a devil, daemon, or demon here is like destroying its very essence. The soul, if you will. What you see here are three empty bodies that are unlikely to ever walk the planes again."

As the adrenaline starts to leave his system, Raphael's speech starts to make sense again. [b]"ماذا؟ ولكن ... لماذا؟ ما هو الخطأ معك؟...begging for mercy! How could you?" Behind his helmet, his face is a mask of confusion and slight horror. When Harvey nudges him, he distractedly pulls out more pamphlets to give to him. Beginning to wonder if I should pick a number of have on me and start keeping track... ;-P

"What?" Hamish looks confused as he mourns the loss of soem rather good arrows. "You think that pile of chains and sadism would do you the same mate? Nah, he'd spare you alright. And he'd keep right on sparing you every time you ever asked for mercy. Then through every time you pleaded for death. Then every time you just groaned a little. Because what they really like is the sound of your voice."

Realizing that his arrows were now gone for good he spreads his arms theatrically.

"And what have we learned today? Don't bloody touch the pillars of flesh! Or to a broader lesson! DON'T BLOODY TOUCH SOMETHIN IF YOU DON'T KNOW WOT IT DO!"

Dropping his arms to his side he shakes his head, replaces his bow adn starts heading towards the pathfinder camp.

Male Half-Elf

What happened, where did that creature go? Did Desna save us?

Maxwell has a look on his face like he is very confused.

Wait, did that ring save me? Did I die? Are the rest of you ok? Who needs healing?

"The big one departed when you exploded in to pieces over there. I do not think Desna had much to do with the saving. Saranrae and a particular bard seemed to have a lot more to do with it."explains Suzumaru, trying to minimize the account of her involvement.

As Harvey is about to bleat, she interrupts,"Nothing out of you Harvey, especially when your mouth is full of pamphlet."

Then, tired of examining the Kytons, she dust her hands off and replies,"I believe the good father and I have taken some minor damage and are tossing it back and forth between our life links. Let me see what I can do about this. Andross stay well back."

With a strange face, and a "Ta-Da" manuever, waves of pure life force channel forth from Suzumaru striking all the humanoids and a goat within 30 feet.

Andross looks around and sighs. "I think it would be best if you were to rest up until tomorrow night, that way the lot of you could regain spells, energy, and whatever else you may need. Perhaps I can prepare more than ONE invisibility spell as well... And lets please try not to die too quickly next time?"

Lets rest. Dyeing really takes it out of a guy.

"I agree Harvey, shouldn't we push on, find our way to the entrance at least? I thought we were powerful Pathfinders sent to save the world from the evils of magic moving islands, not new recruits on a hike in the Cairnlands."

Suzumaru is eager to press on, after spending less than a minute in combat with some invading blue fiends. When did Pathfinder's get so lazy? 42 seconds of hard pressed battle just warms me up!

"If you insist on helping out back at camp, I'll come with you since I can't really finish off most monsters by myself."Suzumaru states, with a slight bit of scorn in her voice.

Andross grins at Suzumaru. "Now she has the spirit of a true Pathfinder."

Two words Hammish: durable arrows. ;-)

"That simply means we shouldn't bow down to their level. We should rise above them and show them the meaning of true mercy. And I'd say that Suzumaru did most of the saving; I merely endeavored to keep her alive." Raphael nods his thanks to Suzumaru, both for her combat magics and her healing. I also have fey foundling, so also back up to full health.

After stretching slightly before trying to retrieve his ring from Jean. "I find I didn't do much that battle, so I would be willing to continue. Although if others need rest, so be it."

What blasphemy is this? Spellcasters willing to continue while the fighter wants to rest? :o But if people really want to rest, that's fine.

Nope. Andross is just so skilled a craftsman that he found a way to negate that adverse side effect

If you guys want to search the area, tell me where in the giant circle you are going. Remember the placement of the rocks leads into a facelike formation.

I touch nothing. In fact Maxwell will follow behind everyone else.

"That nose-like area looks interesting, I'm going to go check it out. Who's coming with me?"says Suzumaru. Without waiting for a response she moves up to it and begins to visually examine it.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

Suzumaru, where you put an S on in roll20, you notice that the sand there seems to sink into the ground more than the other places on that sandy outline, almost as if it were filling a hole.

Andross walks beside you and observes the area as well. "That's a good find Suzumaru. We may now be one step closer to finding Acererak."

Remember, the nose is on a hill. To search the nose itself did not yield any results. The sandy bank at the bottom of the hill though... well, lets just say that's what the map is showing.

So it sounds like Suzumaru searched the 'tip' of the nose. In which case, Raphael will search around where the nostrils would be.

Picking his way carefully across the shifting sands, Raphael begins his own search. Just watch, I'm going to be finding sand in unmentionable places for the next week. Supposing we all don't get killed first.

Andross points at the map on roll20. "Hey, everyone, I don't think its the nose that you should be focusing on. I think its this sandy bank here that's represented by the black line. If there's an entrance anywhere, its bound to be there."

Raphael, you search in 10 ft in each direction from where you put your marks... and unfortunately don't seem to find anything out of place.

Reaching into his sack Hamish pulls out a long segmented pole which he carefully unfolds to an impressive 10ft. length. From soem distance he carefully prods the indentation before carefully inserting the rod to see how deep it goes before impacting something being ready at all times to get the hell out of the way.
