'Now to hope this is a good idea'

The stench roils against his stomach and the diamonds cufflinks shine reducing it. Feeling and reaching out to the nearest curse forms he lays his curse upon them.

To the junction; the slurry suddenly explodes in a grotesque rain of excrement blinding anyone there. "Everyone, attack those nearest the ones at the junction cannot get through without some .... in their eyes."

His knife whips out at the creature nearest to him as it strikes.

Take 10 poison damage & OA

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Too bad the damage you're taking is acid...

edit: wait, so James has so far stolen the soul of angels and now has just blinded me with poo? You're off the Christmas card list, buddy.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Then i'll change it to acid, the diamond bracers are one type that you have taken that round.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Sorry for the abrupt description but I had to nip out to run Kingmaker. I don't think the zone catches you unless you walk into it but dabbleboard is down so....

But James can also swap places with another PC so he can walk unimpeded through the excrement cloud, the swap with someone on the other side?

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I don't mind really, getting hampered by sewage just makes the story more interesting when you tell it later. I'm more worried about having to make some saving throw against the nasty.

Now Raya herself might have a few choice words to tell you...or hold your head under'water' for a bit.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Actually very sure you are not in the zone, or else I would have to roll to hit... of course if you move into the zone then you get *** in your eyes.

Dabbleboard still down for maintenance.

Not impressed with Dabbleboard going down for three days. Hunting for alternative.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Google docs?

Googledocs it is. Try this please. I believe should all be able to edit, but do note that it's perilously easy to pick up the background and move it.

James's idea consists of showering sewage upwards in an unpleasant and highly odourous fountain. There is no question the tactic is effective. Among the solid matter, two sewer revenants are briefly visible before they flop back into the mess.

Note that submerged Sewer Revenants are invisible and do not provoke OAs when in water.

That's good, just checking there are no rows lower than Q? Internet Explorer is rubbish.

Human

Try now. Should go down to S.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

I can see A-P now but all characters are 1 row above where they should be, it's probably just me though & I only just acted. And just want to make sure that did my attack hit the 3 sets of bubbles if so which (or is it so smelly and yuck in here that my attack was only a guess :P)

Try using View 100% and see if that works. You hit and killed two of the blighters, even with cover and invisibility, but not the third.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Thanks for that, silly me. Sorry thought they might have been super tough. Yay for at least getting 2 of them. (If you want I can delete the last exchange?

Silver Crusade

he killed sewer revenants with poo? They don't have resist 10 fetid?

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Thanks DSA:1 & another gem lit up!

James smiles wryly, this isn't meant to be his natural environment but he is taking to it like a duck to....

Guardian Iatos wrote:

Unfortunately not. They have resist 20 acid, which made not a whit of difference.

Thom wrinkles his nose in disgust at the display. "Gaaaah...that smells horrible!" He gags.

Ready action to cast Magic Missile at the first enemy he sees.
13 points force damage.

Rev, it looks like the background of the map was shifted. Could you please fix that? Thanks!

@Thom - This is a curious one and I'm not sure quite how to adjudicate it. MM is auto hit, but you would, I think have to be able to see your target. Can you make a Perception check please to see if you can locate S4.

Rev: MM is pretty clear here; Thom needs to be able to SEE his target, hence the readied action. Still here is his Perception check: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 12 + 2 = 25

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

"I always remember fishing trips being more fun and less smelly." Arishat looks around warily and prepares to stab with her spear if some of the ripples turn into enemies. "And also leading to a meal afterwards if we caught anything before we started pushing each other overboard."

Ready an action, Viper's Strike against the next sewer dweller to poke it's head up.
Perception check to try to pick up any ripples, 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Thom yips as something he can't see claws at his ankles.

S4 went for Thom.
1d20+21=26 v Fort. Hits. 14 acid damage to Thom.

Reckon Arishat can have her readied action at -5 because the thing is still invisible.

Female Tiefling Warlord/Infernal Strategist 18

In response to Thom's ankles getting whacked, Arishat thrust into the sewage near where the strike came from.

Viper's Strike, 1d20 + 21 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 21 - 5 = 17 vs AC, 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 damage and the target cannot shift on it's next turn without provoking an an opportunity attacl from Our Jimmy.
My rolls have been good today. 1, 1, 8, and 1.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

"Milady Arishat, if we are fishing here, I am not eating your or any catch." James replies sardonically with a tip of his hat.

Arishat misses stylishly, unused to fishing in deep sewage.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel moves forward to an open area in the midst of the chaos and attempts to unleash some of his own poo-splashing mess.

MOVE:to O6.
STANDARD: Shake the earth (encounter close burst 4)--vs Fort for S1,S4,and S5.
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33 vs S1
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35 vs S4
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29 vs S5
(subtract 5 from each if necessary, but the power states "solid objects do not block line of effect for the burst"--Rev, you can decide if the -5 applies here).
On a hit: 2d10 + 11 ⇒ (1, 7) + 11 = 19 thunder damage and "if the target is burrowing, you slide the target 4 squares to the closest square to it that is in your line of effect". I am not sure how to interpret that right now, so feel free to slide any effected creatures as you desire, provoking attacks if possible.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

It's a close attack so it should ignore invisibility, if I understand properly. Nice to see your secondary effect might actually come into play finally, Barel.

As Raya says, close attacks tend to ingnore invisibility, so no -5 for you.

Two more sewer revenants collapse as the reverberations from Barel's attack send them back into the depths of the sewage that spawned them. Thom breathes freely again as the worst of the stench around him subsides.

Lanthair? (Although I think CH is on holiday).

EDIT: If anyone wants to take his turn for him, go ahead. I'm reluctant to second guess him when I've got a selection of monsters on readied actions to go next.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

I see something I think he'd like to do, but he might suffer the readied attack for it. Hmmmm, well why not? I think he'd risk it.

Lanthair

Shifts to P5 (can shift 2 squares, so difficult terrain shouldn't be an issue)

Five Storms at will
Close Burst vs S5
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32 vs Reflex
1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

I think he's a minion, so that'll pop him. if not, he will deal 6 more and maybe shift it. All depends on the outcome.

If he does that he's going to sink into the sewage. Are you sure? It's not difficult terrain, it's sewer water.

ahh I didn't consider how deep it was....I withdraw my action for now, unless Lanthair can walk on water, which he might be able to do...
I wouldn't take over a character just to have them dive into sewage nose deep. Didn't think of that. How about just delaying him till after James?

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

Celestial Healer did get back off his holiday, but how about if he doesn't post before morning UK time then he delays?

Sounds fine to me. I'll take a look in the morning.

Male Halfling Monk 18 / Ghostwalker

I'm back!

Lanthair takes aim with his sling, trying to strike the thing in the water. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19 vs AC. 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 damage.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Welcome back!

Welcome back indeed.

Lanthair's pebble bounces off the semi-solid water doing no harm to the sewer revenant. Swimming closer, it bestows its pungent stink on Arishat, Lanthair and Barel and claws at Lanthair's ankles without surfacing.

SR3 swims blindly out of Jame's portable cesspit leaving all but one of the foes on the other side of the obscruction.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

"Milady's wish is my command!" James says jovially, "Now if you would excuse me!" He senses the pressure of the fetid craetures filthy souls and connects to them. Next he squeezes past the beautiful paladin and to the edge of the walkway as the shadows coalese around him.

Calling upon his the life-link to the creature just infront of him James is shocked and the sympathetic magic creates a feed-back loop to it. Trying to make him invisible to the creature.

Minor: Curse S5 & R1 - No minor to sustain the darkness.
Move: 3 squares East, concealment gained.
Standard: Eyebite VS R1 (will); 1d20 + 21 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 21 + 1 = 26, Damage 1d6 + 14 + 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 14 + (2, 2) + (6) = 30 & Invisible to R1 TSOJNT (on hit)

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

As soon as the darkness zone is down, Raya is a half step behind James, brushing past him as she investigates around the corner. Taking a hand off Ruinblade for the moment, she pulls out a small, glowing stone, hefting it into the water. "More over here!"

She reaffirms her grip as she looks at the revenant before her.

Moved on map
Standard: Glowstone thrown into L12. Any undead creature that starts its turn in the zone takes damage equal to its vulnerability to radiance.
Minor: Challenge R1

'These stones seem pretty useful, I must remember to buy more, flush out the undead so Ruinblade may hew them.'

How long does the glowstone last?

James obligingly removes his sewage rain, pausing only to curse two more victims.

Ruinblade glows as it confronts an undead. Approval sings into Raya's head. The creature confronting her seems underwhelmed however. Undead it may be, but light does not seem to bother it.

Raya shrugs mentally, 'At least the stone will provide some needed light., you'll carve it up in no time.'

Thom?

Thom knows there is something lurking in the sewage below. He motions with his staff and exclaims, "Everyone, hold your breath..."

Thunderwave Arcane, Implement, Thunder
You create a whip-crack of sonic power that lashes up from the ground.
Standard Action, Close Blast 3, targetting S5
Attack: Intelligence 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27 vs. Fortitude
Hit: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 thunder damage, and you push the target 1 square.

Thom stirs the sewage mightily but has no effect on the submerged target. The creatures clearly find the stench quite endurable.

"I do hope we can find somewhere to stay with a bath-house when we walk in smelling like this. I can already tell I'm going to have to burn most of these clothes and replace them, just to get rid of the stench." Arishat stabs at the sewage, and squeezes past Barel, towards the civilised fight on the walkway. "Although I supppose I could give them to a temple," she adds.

10 damage.
Viper's Strike against SR5, 1d20 + 21 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 21 - 4 = 22 vs AC, 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 damage and if the target shifts before the start of my next turn it provokes an OA from Barel.
Move to O10
This provokes an OA from SR5, if it's still alive.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

"I have a loft; with a bath that'll fit 2 at a squeeze." James suggests. "Of course, I have plenty of unguents and lotions to make you smell beautiful once more. I am an alchemyst." he quips as the discharge of effluence explodes around them.

Storm took out power. Hence delay.

Whether she is disconcerted by James's offer or the smell is hard to say, but Arishat's aim lacks her usual precision.
