Barel - don't forget to make your pre-turn save as well as your post-turn save (if needed) v weakened.

NOTE:. I won't retcon this, but the Angel of Light slaughtered by James has a Death Burst 5 which delivers 5 radiant to all enemies and restores 10 to all allies. Just so you know for the future.

Barel wastes no time making his presence felt.

Divine wings spread as the Angels of Light fly swiftly towards the companions. Shining glaives whirl and strike.

They can all fly and hover. All have reach 2.

"Separate them!" Lanthair yells. "They draw their strength from each other."

I think we need some battlefield control. We need to separate the AA from the Angels of Light so that they can be killed. Let's keep pushing the AA northward and try to force the ALs southward.

91/111hp Dark Reckoner Warlock

James glasses darken as the glaive strikes into his side; suddenly it seems that he is surrounded and his friends are falling back. His mind casts back to the ambush that broke his old Company; Valentino and his mad dash through the enemy lines. "Spread out, concentrate on their Authority."

James can take one Angel of Light a turn if he can hit. He has very few AoE attacks. But their reach is a killer (for him) as he needs to be mobile, he's going to have to suck up a couple of OA's.

Thom scuttles sideways and asks his new pet to go to work. S1 shakes in the sonic blast, but the Angels of Light merely flicker and return, secure in their trust in their Angel of Authority.

Thanks, d'oh by me of course as it was a Blast:5 & reach:5 is unlikely.

As he turns back to gesture at the creature it's wings spread wide, James reaches along his link and lets out a blast of dark energy at the creature, which is momentarily covered in shadows as the necrotic energy consumes it. Despite his weakened condition the blast seems to strike the creature true, even if it does little damage.

Eldrich Blast: Vs AA Ref 1d20 + 20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 20 + 3 = 35

One thing I lament over Dabbleboard is that I can't see previous versions of the map. Something doesn't look right, and I'm thinking that's because earlier I had a lot of angels around me that, thanks to my banner are slowed, and pulled in towards me at the beginning of their turn, even with flight. That may make things tricky since if I mark them, they could disobey, blow up, do damage, and reform.

Either way I'll ask for confirmation before my standard turn

Hefting Ruinblade over her shoulder, Raya follows Arishat's commands.

Holy moly. I go away for a day to torment children and all hell breaks loose. That's what I get for leaving you lot alone with angels.

Arishat has no qualms, moral or otherwise, about demolishing the Angel of Authority. At her words, Thom heals dramatically and her comrades unleash their full range of attacks on the angel.

All the attacks hit, but Raya is dismayed to realise that her radiant powers will be less than effective against these particular foes.

Barel and Lanthair need to make basic attacks v AA at +3 to hit and +2 damage.

The last of the blows lands, and Raya follows up with another attack against the Authority.

Seeing the leader in trouble, the Supremacies start to take drastic action. S1 gestures and swaps places with the Authority before exploding with divine fury. The after effects leave the companions burning with a brand of radiant wrath.

S1 used Pact of Justice (move action). Can swap places with any angel within 7. This is a teleport for both angels.

Tormented Spirit movement technique - teleporting myself and S1 away from the middle of things. It grants CA to me to EOMNT.

Tormented Spirit vs S1 with CA. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35 vs fort. 3d6 + 15 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 15 = 26 damage on a hit plus 6 flurry of blows damage to A1 (NB: A1 is conveniently more than 8 squares away from AA). S1 is weakened to EOMNT.

No kick butt interrupt, the power specifically says ranged or melee, not close or burst. Of course I retrain THAT power and keep this one. Next time!

Raya whispers a prayer for Thom quickly, before sending a challenging glare towards S1.

Thom heals 16 damage. Raya has +2 to strike S1.

Also, Rev, keep in mind these angels near me are slowed, and pulled in close to my banner at the beginning of their turns. I think AA and S1 couldn't have run off that far, but maybe it has a movement power?

Also, Would not AA have provoked in transit, or was this some sort of teleportation effect? I'm not trying to harp, just trying to ensure my pennant is working properly.

I believe it was a Teleport effect, but I'll let Rev Rosey chime in. But note I have a similar encounter power, whereby I can swap places with a Ally within 10.

Your pennant is working properly. It was a teleportation effect.

This is quite an interesting battle for me, of course if we had Tavar still with us, most of the issue'd be settled with a mass resistance spell. My mark doesn't work to well here, nor does my MBA Virtuous Strike. If I Action Point, Tears of Everheart will inflict damage to everything around me (assuming it has a vulnerability). If minions have such a thing that'd do more damage to us than anything else.

Let's solve this properly...

Well, James can take 1 minion(?) out per round. I have been trying, to keep moving whilst cursing. Unfortunately he doesn't have too many multiple target powers, to get both AA & A?. But he has a couple I might use. Or any movement powers.

James looks at the group of Angels crowded around and feels bad for deserting his companions again.

Reminder: Thom's up

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Oops. I didn't catch that the minion angels healed AA...BAD Barel. Sorry.
Also, although I didn't specifically mention it, but Barel would have marked each of his adjacent foes after he pulled them to him (A3, A6, and AA), just like he normally does.
Additionally, he has learned his lesson about smacking the minions, but if they still attack Thom despite the -3 to hit (from Barel's mark), then he will immediate reaction (Warden's grasp) and slide A3 back to M17 to get at least one of them not to be adjacent to Thom.

"Awww...crap..."

Thom grunts in pain as he feels the blades driving into his body. Probably should have stayed in bed. This is REALLY gonna hurt if we can't take that main angel out of this fight. He brings his staff up, conjuring a shield of arcane energy to protect himself, then concentrates on expanding the protective force pushing the angels away from him.

Silver Crusade

Female Human 18 Paladin/Heartwarder

Raya is pelted with radiant energy yet again, grimacing in pain, "Thom. Any chance...that you can have your summon grab the Authority, and keep him away?"

"Not a bad plan there, Raya! I'll see what I can do..."

Current HP 21+11-5=27/88
Target A2 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25 vs. Reflex
A3 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31
A5 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38
A6 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24
A7 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
A8 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38

Thoms pushes a selection of angels away from him, but can't avoid the impact as they explode and reanimate.

Thom hit A3, A5 and A8.
They all die and instantly re-form.
I'm ruling that they explode when they get to the end of the push, but tell me if you think it should be otherwise. If you're all happy to go with that ruling, the following damage applies.
A3 hits Lanthair, Arishat, Barel, Thom and Raya
A5 hits James, Arishat, Barel and Thom
A8 hits James, Arishat, Barel and Thom
15 damage to Thom, Barel and Arishat
10 damage to James
2 each to Lanthair and Raya

Arishat is up.
