Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

Sir James leans back upon the fountain, favouring his injury to his side. The pale marble being stained red, James turns to conceal this - illiciting a slight grimace. The remnants of the shadows drift away from his lithe body as smoke.
"Angel" his voice holds disregard "Angels, you know our lives are bound. Can you not feel it?"
"Answer our questions, else I will break that bond. I know you are immortal, but I will take your soul, it will not return to your Master except on my whim. Think on this, you will not be spun on the wheel of Fate..." James puts a note of hungry anticipation into his voice.
Minor: Use Helm's At-Will Minor Power: How many Hit Points does the Angel S1 have left?
"I can see you are injured and how grievously! Tell me your master and I may let you return to him." James threatens, but seeing that there are a pair of them, he smiles softly.
Minor: Beguiling Tongue - Gain a +5 Power bonus to your next Bluff, Diplomacy or Intimidate check.
I was wondering whether to go for intimidate or attack, but...
Standard: Cursegrind
Vs S1 (fort) 1d20 + 20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 20 + 1 + 1 = 42
Vs S2 (fort) 1d20 + 20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 20 + 1 + 1 = 26
Damage: 2d10 + 18 ⇒ (5, 2) + 18 = 25 (psychic) & Vs S2 extra Curse Damage 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 4) + (6) = 15 (necrotic & psychic)
James' words resonate with the bloodied angel (if he survived Lanthair's attack) and they harmonise with the dark curses' power being ruthless and the walking stick pulses ripping itself nearly from his hands.
EDIT: Crit damage +4d10 Bloodthorn implement, + 1d10 feat. Thus Damage to S1 38 + 5d10 ⇒ 38 + (1, 6, 7, 8, 8) = 68

Lanthair attempts to kick the remaining angels across the square, but the radiance surrounding them gives him pause and the attack misses. James is undaunted. Drawing on all his power, he allows his curse to ignite, pulling lifeforce from the Supremacies. S1 is unable to withstand him and evaporates, but S2 remains. As its companion falls, what might be doubt starts to creep into its demeanour.
All angels have resist radiant 15.
Angels of Supremacy have threatening reach 3
Barel - +3 AC and adjacent enemies cannot shift and costs 1 extra square of movement to leave squares adjacent to him; +5 to attacks and +3 to saves to end Arishat's next turn

Angel of Supremacy 2 (S2, used Ang Rad) - cursed, marked by Raya
Lanthair - +1AC to end next turn
James - DSA3; concealment; in difficult terrain (fountain)

Barel Dlode |

Barel approaches the remaining angel without purpose. He swings his axe at the creature and hopes for the best.
I am on my tablet only and the map doesn't seem to be coming up correct. So feel free to modify this post as is reasonable...I am in Florida on vacation and enjoying myself way too much (and may not check for a day or so)
MOVE: to adjacent to remaining angel.
STANDARD: Weight of the earth--1d20 + 26 ⇒ (17) + 26 = 43 vs angel for 1d10 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 31 and he is slowed UEMNT (+2 more dmage if he is bloodied already).

Rev DM |

Happy holiday, Barel. For a purposeless move, that was dashed effective. Finished Faustus and then basically collapsed for 24 hours. Never again do we commit to 8 youth theatre shows, four of them on back to back weeks.
Barel continues to make his presence felt as he mallets at the last angel's feet, hindering its movement. No longer looking so serene and definitively wounded, it may be open to negotiation of some sort.
All angels have resist radiant 15.
Angels of Supremacy have threatening reach 3

Raya - +2 to hit S1
Angel of Supremacy 2 (S2, used Ang Rad) - BLOODIED; cursed, marked by Raya; slowed to end Barel's next turn

Unfortunately there is no circumstance bonus anywhere that will make a roll of 10 convince an angel to break its oath.

Angel of Supremacy 2 (S2, used Ang Rad) - BLOODIED; cursed, marked by Raya; slowed to end Barel's next turn

Arishat |

Arishat mutters something under her breath that sounds like, "Thom, leave the bullying to me." Then she glares at the surviving angel. "Your 'friend' didn't listen when I suggested he give up fighting for talking. Are you going to be more sensible, or do we have to beat on you a bit more?" A cocky grin spreads across her face. "Because, frankly, either way works for me."
Intimidate check, surrender you stupid creature, 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36 vs Will.

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

James smiles wickedly from where he is, as the moving water laps at his feet. Gently he opens up this leather coat he wears and extracts a cigarette case, with a click it opens.
A twinge of pain goes through his body as with his damaged side he extracts a cigarette and lights it on the side of his case. Placing it to the edge of his mouth, it hangs there.
James whispers laconically over the sounds of the babbling water, so softly that you can barely hear. "So your soul is not to be mine...yet. As he takes of his glasses a tightness in the eyes betrays his words. 'I am not like this...I don't wish to threaten but...'

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

"Of course, your God is powerful and holds you here. You would not betray him, even if it meant your own extinction. Now he starts to rise from his ruins, he will take back what is rightfully his." James says making wild assumptions. "Will you act as aid or hindrance to the Powerful One?"

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

"So you are ignorant as your God is blind?" James places his cane and hat on the side of the fountain, carefully within a dives reach. "You do know that when the Master of the Ruins gains his power he will attempt to usurp your God?" He says easily trying to cast doubt in the beings mind and hope he will be more helpful.
Bluff 1d20 + 19 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 19 + 5 = 34
James shrugs off his leather coat placing it beside the fountain and tears open his shirt near the wound the standing Angel delivered. The wound appears shallow and clean as the lithe man steps back under the fountain letting the water wash the wound. 'Sovereign glue'll close that.' he whispers to himself whilst he leaves the Angel to contemplate his words.

Raya exhales, wipes the tears from her eyes and stands. She rejoins the group, emotionally drained "The god of secrets bid him keep watch....probably to ensure he said nothing of his master or his dark knowledge." She sheathes Ruinblade, then proceeds to the sewer grate the madman was last seen at. "Let us be done with this exhausting matter....." She leans down towards the grate, "Vocar, we have candy if you will speak to us..."

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

James flicks his long wet hair out of his eyes. Moving out from the cascading water as it clings to his torso and runs down in small rivulets.
He smiles around the smouldering cigarette; "You know..." his grey eyes fix upon the Angel "He who will be the bane of you God, usurping his power.." he whispers the final words so that it hangs on the air. "Aecerak."

Post Monster got me, I was flatfooted.

For a brief moment his eyes flick to the young paladin; 'I should go see her, but she trusts me not... I probably disturb her.' he thinks inwardly with a small pang of recrimination as his attention slides back to the Angel.
Moving to the edge of the fountain, James looks down at the ruins of his shirt and to the Angel waiting... hoping for a response with a knowing look in his pale eyes.

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

James blows out a ring of smoke and cocks an eyebrow at Thom's accusation.
Sorry, guys wasn't trying to give away too much. But James is in a delicate position. If he finished the 'Angel' then he'll be in trouble with you guys, even more than he already is. So he was trying to use subterfuge....
If you really want... And that he has a minor action to do it.
James calls upon his God drawing strength and sends part of his conciousness through the life-link. Trying to see through the angels eyes, he stumbles slightly as his perspective shifts.
Cast: Eye of the Warlock Vs Will 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37 Range:10 Effect: See through the targets eyes, target not aware of this, you have LoS & LoE. You can use a power through this link & a 3rd eye appears on targets head (save ends).

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

Looking through the pale grey smoke, hopefully with double image of the Angels vision overlaid over his....'Nihilistic? That's a great way to act, stupid James, very stupid.' He thinks to himself as the creature fades away to it's over dimension.
"I've never tried this over dimensions...I am not sure of the range. And if he meets Vecna, he could easily blast my mind into ashes." A slow self-deprecating smile draws it's way across his face.

Rev DM |

A glowing third eye appears on the angel before it vanishes, its expression unreadable.
It's a level 16 power, so I reckon it can be used trans-dimensionally until the creature makes a save.
Saves v Eyes:
1d20=1
1d20=2
1d20=19
Vertigo hits as you follow your unwitting messenger across space, churning your stomach. When your vision clears you see a vast and dusty library, filled with angels and poised at a desk, the figure of an ancient man. Eyepatched and gloved, he looks up from a complex indexing system and surveys you.
"I owe you, do I?"
The voice is not unamused.
"You know the price of secrets, warlock. What is it you truly want to know? How to find your love? How to break your pact? I can tell you both, and more. Your little titbit does not allow you that much knowledge, but I am not ungrateful. I shall reward you in my own time. In my own way. We will meet again."
The gloved hand reaches out and plucks out the glowing third eye, reaching through the endless dimensions to mark you.
Take 5d10=26 damage.
You are marked by Vecna.
You may turn one roll you make in the next 24 hours into a crit.
In return, Vecna make take any one roll you make in the next 24 hours and turn it into a 1.

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

James looks across to the Angel as it fades away like mist, as strange far away look to his wide eyes. "She is safe, with my Lady." he whispers his voice shaky and soft, but not without a hint of bravado.
Suddenly his legs give out and he collapses onto the edge of the fountain, a gout of blood spills from his mouth and his cigarette falls into the swirling water. (Bloodied)
Leaning upon the stone edge of the fountain James looks up to the group his left eye trickles a small drop of blood.
He breathes heavily not just the physical pain but at the ensuing conversation. Taking off the remnants of his shirt and tying it in a rough bandage around his middle, then he hops over the low retaining wall.
James picks up the clothes he left on the bank, and gets a bag of sweets from his pocket. He pops one in his mouth the get out the sharp metallic tang and offers the bag up. "So that was exciting?" his voice is back to the boisterous (hollow) confidence.

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

His voice slightly hoarse; "Information... we needed information."
James face turns ashen, "You cannot trust Angels. They will not be there for you; they have their own agenda." he replies staring slightly into the distance, remembering a autumnal day where everything changed.
"I am sorry for telling him, but we needed to know who he was working for." his voice urgent. "And now I know..."
Loosing a grip on his cane as his hands shake slightly it clatters to the flags with a resonating cacophony; "There are many Gods of secrets, at least in my lands... Dalt, from whom no secret is kept. The bearded dwarven lord; or even my own revered Deity."
"Yes, Thom I am a fool. But at least now we know." James shakes his head trying to not be nauseated.

Lanthair |

Lanthair looks about seriously and says to no one in particular, as if reciting something, "Always have confidence in the righteousness of your cause. When you fight, fight to win, and fight with the knowledge that your enemies will do the same. Doubt makes you vulnerable in the eyes of your enemies..." He trails off pensively.

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

"Eloquently said, I thank you for your words." James struggles to regain his usual confidence. "It was not that I was trying to create a new foe. Though at least in some ways it has resolved itself." Understatedly saying, "I met their God."
James pops on his top hat and the diamonds shimmer in the reflected light from the fountain. 'I need to stay with these people, I cannot bring it down upon my brother. He has had enough trouble because of me.'

Arishat |

"Actually, Sir James, I don't agree that you can't trust angels. It just depends which gang they're part of, in that respect." Arishat sniffs, and picks his cane up before handing it to him. "All right, everyone, we're taking a break. Some of us have healing to catch up on."

Sir James Durham-Fairfax |

"I thank you," he takes the cane from the tiefling. "both for you kind words and your beautiful prescence. It's not that I don't trust their word, just that they may not act in our best interests."
"Well I do know some old marching songs." James smiles; "They are quite invigorating if the language a trifle coarse." he looks to Raya, then holds out the brown paper bag of sweets.
"I only know basic battlefield-field medicine. The life-links I create can only take not give." his words hold regret.
James has a Majestic word for 3d6+6+HS. Currently 55 down & HS=26
