Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

"I Warned ya." says Frank.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Acid Spalsh on the two standing next to each other.
Dex Save (DC 13): 1d6 ⇒ 3

DoubleGold |

dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (14) = 17
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (5) = 8 the second one takes dmg.
they all resort to nonlethal starting with barbarian hit: 3d20 ⇒ (12, 13, 17) = 42 all with a +5 to hit.
dmg: 3d4 + 9 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) + 9 = 18
Round 2, all heroes are up again Lim-Lim, no death save needed, this is nonlethal, though you are uncouncious

Svala Forgesister |

Hmm, Shield of Faith on self and swing to hit one? Or Heal up Lim-Lim?
Since they're hitting for nonlethal lets try Shield of Faith (Bonus action) to up my AC to 20 and swinging Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

DoubleGold |

Lim-Lim, I'll allow it, you're up with 1 HP and it is your turn. I too have thought about that before, they should let you make death saves for the first three rounds even though you aren't dying cause of the possibility of a 20.
Svala whacks one, the hurt one, but they can't be saved by nonlethal, so he dies in a puff of smoke.
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (18) = 21
dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (7) = 10 vs acid splash and this one takes dmg
Svala and Lim-Lim, dex save dc 10, or be blinded for a turn.
number 2 with 3 dmg, number 3 with 4 dmg, number 1 dead.

DoubleGold |

Lim-Lim kills another
The last one runs, do you chase him down? acrobatics 12 to catch up and kidnap him, ranged attacks at disadvantage if going that route.

DoubleGold |

dex: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (13) = 16 but even so that won't kill him, he passed anyway.

DoubleGold |

You keeping him alive, or are you killing him Lim-Lim? You keeping him captive or releasing him after question?
What do you all want to ask him if you keep him alive? Intimidation check dc 10 for every three questions you want to ask him, he may not know all the answers.

DoubleGold |

Okay, so you all catch up to the last one after Lim-Lim tackles him.
Let me go, I was only following orders.

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

"My bro here is gonna follow his fist all over your face if you don't start talking. What you thinkin jumpin us son?"

DoubleGold |

The queen of creeping vines is angry with the pine of wilden of his area and she has offered a bounty for each one captured. We were trying to use the prisoner as bait
You wait up the unconscious pine wilden. Thanks for saving me. The name's Byre
The last one alive begs for his life Please if you spare me and let me go, I can tell you where you can get a long rest and how to get past the giant toads ahead without confronting them head on. Besides we have hidden treasure, gold that can be yours.

Svala Forgesister |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
"Fine by me, but if we see you stand against us again, there will be no mercy shown" Svala looks to the others for any dissent before proceeding.

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

After getting the information from the creature, Frank will say
"You go, and you tell your queen that boom boom be comin for her; You tell her to run son." Frank then fires a ray of frost at it's feet.

DoubleGold |

She'll find you, believe me, she has spies everywhere and magical ways to see. Me, she just see as weak and never let me back anywhere near the feywild. I'll have to live in the jungle now.
As you approach the upcoming area, you go up the hill that he told you too instead of taking the path. You are 35 feet above ground and 65 feet out is a pond, in the middle of that pond on two giant lily pads are two giant toads, they are 75 feet out and are totally unaware of you all. They are the queens toads and must be destroyed or they will destroy everything in their path.

DoubleGold |

No one has ranged attacks? They are frogs, they will attack not planning anything and 75 feet away, it will take them a turn or two before they can attack. Alternatively you can take another approach, like sneaking up there and implanting traps which is a stealth 13 and survival 11. This is also the last fight before you can get a long rest
Heroes stay in place and observe the area, there is definitely only 2 frogs.

Lim-Lim |

Sorry; been too exhausted to keep up with games this week. Newborn keeps us awake all night, older kids keep us awake all day.
Lim-Lim throws a javelin at one of the toads.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Dis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

DoubleGold |

dex: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (14) = 15 disadvantage: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
dex: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (4) = 5 disadvantage: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 as his acid splash can get both, but only hits one
and that crossbow arrow hits
init: -1 + 1d20 ⇒ -1 + (14) = 13 Lim-Lim
init: -1 + 1d20 ⇒ -1 + (5) = 4 Svala
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (9) = 12 Frank
init: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (16) = 17 Frogs
on their turn, they move 60 feet forward
Heroes are up and can get within melee range of them

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

Frank will back up and use Ray of Frost on the one that he hit with acid last round.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 4 and speed reduced by 10' if that hits.

Mani Katell Ghilherm |

Suddenly, from out of the water near the edge of the pond, a blond half elf springs up gasping for breath. She sees the frogs as well as potential allies, and thinking quickly, she unleashes a string of curses towards one of the frogs.
Cast viscious mockery; one frog needs to make a DC 13 Wisdom Save or take 1d4 ⇒ 2 damage and take a disadvantage on next attack.

DoubleGold |

Lim-Lim cuts a frogs head off, while Svala hits one really hard, the one that was acid splashed, but it is still living
wis: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (5) = 5 the Frog is offened by Mani, but still isn't dead.
On its turn it will bite lim hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (8) = 11
disadvantage: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (1) = 4
and then you will all finish off easily as the 20s prove at least will hit it at least once, with the fourth one being a save 4d20 ⇒ (13, 18, 18, 1) = 50
With the frogs gone the queen has no more monsters guarding the area and heroes make it out of the Feywild and into more wilderness area.
Heroes can set up camp and long rest without incident (everyone is now level 3, except for Mani who is level 2)

Scarwing |

The kenku croaks. "Fight evil!" It says. It uses a bunch of various words with different words stacked together to say that it wants to join the adventurers and gain fame, as well as gold, of course..

Frank "Boom Boom" Di'Noso |

"Aight, we can give you a shot bro. Don't screw it up though, or my girl Svala will wreck ya!"
Finally noticing Mani, Frank will move over to her and offer her a hand up, saying "Girl, I hope that fall didn't hurt too badly."

DoubleGold |

An entry for Return of the Lizard King on the logsheet will occur at the end of Return of the Lizard King, since you won't be able to buy anything until you are out of this part of the expansion.
Heroes get out of the Feywild get a night's rest without incident.
They arrive at the Valley of Dread in Chult. A tribe of Akabkan are attacking the peaceful tribes. The shrieks in the distance subside as four creatures break through the underbush. Two large lizards and two flying kobolds turn towards you. The large lizards hiss their tongues at you. (Giant lizards 20 north of the front liner. 2 flying kobolds, 15 in air and 25 feet northeast of front liners.)
init: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (4) = 4 enemies, roll init and act if you are before them.

Svala Forgesister |

Until we get some magic weapons will use Blessing of the Forge to make Lim-Lim's axe magical (+1 to hit and dmg) for the day each morning
Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Leaving the more magical/ranged types to deal with the flyers Svala rushes to engage the lizards burning a 1st level slot for Searing Smite (next target hit suffers +1d6 fire and must make Con save at start of each round or suffer another d6 fire dmg. Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 dmg: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Lim-Lim |

Lim-Lim calls upon his ancestors to imbue him with strength (bonus action rage), and moves forward to attack a lizard.
Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Reckless: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
If it hits, they get disadvantage for attacking anyone but me this turn, and whoever they attack gets resistance.
